Tracy was professional and did a really good job. The room itself was really relaxing, with low lights a big comfy table. I booked an appointment easily, and the staff here is super friendly and educated. I spoke with the receptionist about what I wanted and needed done, and she gave me a bunch of price options, directed me to the website for diagrams, and eventually we booked an appointment. Admittedly I'm not the biggest fan of waxing because sometimes it can hurt, so I don't get it done all that often. But, I felt comfortable walking in here and was impressed with the quaint lobby area with products for sale. I felt instantly relaxed and my wax lady was on time and ready to go, even with my bad nerves for this sort of thing. The process went a lot smoother then I expected and wasn't as painful as I remember. After she was done waxing a strip she immediately put soothing gel on my skin to keep the irritation and pain down. Plus, she was extremely professional and did everything in about 30 minutes, which was impressive. I didn't feel as much pain as I was expecting, which is a good sign! Overall, probably one of the best, if not THE best waxing experiences I think I've ever had. I was in and out in 30 minutes, didn't feel terrible pain and felt like a million bucks when I was done. Plus, she gave me some good after care advice on soothing treatments and keeping my skin in good shape, versus shoving me out the door with a quick thank you. I've been getting botox for many years and have learned that the injections cannot be too close to my eyebrows or it causes my eyelids to droop. I told her this when I first came in. Then while she was cleaning my forehead, she was also wiping my eyebrow. I told her, "why are you wiping that area? Please, do not inject botox so close to my eyebrow, I know what I'm talking about." Did she listen or care? NO - She injected right into my eyebrow, I should have gotten up out of the chair immediately! I went back a week later to show them (the one that did injections and another lady) the poor results and they said she could inject MORE botox! Everyone knows that you cannot fix a droopy eyelid with more botox. I wanted my money back but they just offered me more injections - she obviously doesn't know what she is doing or she just doesn't care, how could I trust her to inject more?! As a result, I went on vacation looking like I had a stroke with a droopy, ugly eyelid. It almost seemed like both women were happy that I had such bad results. They tried to convince me it didn't look that bad. They totally dismissed me and my concerns. Very disturbing!

Parking was easy and nice to have designated parking spots for Bare Philosophy. Walked in and had no idea that you had to take your shoes off. I get for cleanliness sake and winter bringing water/salt, but I wasn't expecting it. I walked in and noticed another patron standing inside with her socks on so I followed suit. I didn't notice behind me that they provide slides to wear after you take off your shoes. There was no staff downstairs so no one to greet me or give instructions. There was a sign that said they were short staffed and to help yourself. It was the day before Christmas Eve. Really pretty inside and welcoming. Lots of areas to look at product. There was a coffee machine. Old historical charm throughout! The other client got brought back and I just was standing around. I finally heard someone in the foyer area and was checked in at that point and brought back to a large room for my eyebrow appointment. We spoke a bit about eyebrow shape and how she likes to keep things natural/follow your natural shape. Can always take off more later if I wanted. I think my eye wax was all of five minutes. Trimming, a few strips of waxing, and then tweezing and that's it. Let me have a look in the mirror and I was happy for the most part. I should've asked to trim my eyebrows a little more. But overall content with the shape. I wish there was something to put on my skin afterwards to calm it down since I get red easily. Again, the whole process was super quick, didn't feel overly personalized with an eye brow shaping/waxing but the job got done. The staff who did my brows was very nice and we made conversation throughout my service. I felt comfortable and no pain with the waxing/tweezing. Afterwards, she checked me out and you can give a tip on a card. $20 is a fair price for an eyebrow wax, what I was paying for at another place in the area.
