I bring my son and my two nephews here. Everyone that has cut their hair has done great. I've had nothing but good experiences. It's a family barber shop with an old fashion feel. I appreciate that they are open 7 days a week. All the stylist have been friendly. I will continue to come here as long as I am Living in the area. Cute place a little cluttered with knickknacks and such. Crystal did a great job on my son. Would be nice if employees are a little friendlier and welcoming walked in no one around to greet us and while standing their the entire time maybe a handful of words were exchanged. I got to J's Barber Shop all the time, It's located inside the Bradley Business Center next to Quantum Fitness. It's a rustic looking place with lots of old Americana decorations on the wall. They use old vintage barber shop chairs from the 1940s and 1950s. It's a very male establishment, the kind of place where dads take their sons for a first barber shop visit, and where old guys gather together and chat over a shave. You almost expect to see an old barber with glasses, wearing a white coat, named Floyd. As for service, they treat you nice and do a good job, but you get what you'd expect from a small town barber shop. It's not a salon, though they do serve women too. It's mostly a guys place for guys haircuts, at relatively low prices. read more

I've been to J's many times since moving to menifee. My day to go is always Sunday's. Most barbershops that I've been to are closed on Sundays so it's super convenient. Ironically I've had my hair cut by everyone that works there except for J. All the barbers are really good, quick, and nice, especially penny. what a horrible experience. After explaining to the bleach blonde female cutting hair in the corner that I needed this hair cut for company photos and her stating that she understood they type of haircut I requested( high and tight with the front longer then the back so I could comb it back). I had to stop her from cutting more hair off. I will have to go to another barber to see if he can save it or just shave it. I wouldn't bring my dying dog here for a cut she specializes in Hack jobs and busted cuts. She was too busy talking about who got invited to what party and who was going. Thanks. This is the BEST barbershop by far!! My son has been going to Js barber since he was a yr old (got his 1st haircut done by J) my son is now 3 1/2 I've tried other barbershops within the last few yrs (like 2 of them) but we keep coming back to Js! My son has gotten his hair cut by all the lovely ladies and J himself and they ALL do a terrific job!! Today we went in and he got a comb-over... Crystal did his hair today... SO disappointed. My husband and son have always gotten good haircuts here....well NOT ANY MORE! MY son came home w/an uneven bowl cut! I called and spoke to Paige who said she would fix it....unfortunately when we went back she put my son back in the same barber's chair who initially cut it wrong. WELL SO MUCH FOR THE TRUTH! This place is horrible, closes when ever they want even though they have posted time til 5pm my son and I showed up at 4 pm an hour before closing and are told sorry we're are closed all ready even though they are still open. I'll make sure everyone I know. Doesn't go here ever. I even called earlier today to make sure they'd be open til 5. J's Barbershop is the place to go for a Great Hair Cut. I never feel that I need to request a specific Stylist since they All do a great job. Hair Cuts are priced right and everyone is very friendly. They are also Great with kids. read more

OK first of all the positives haircut was good, the barber I had younger guy very nice very friendly and all the other Barber seem to be friendly. Prices were very reasonable and the way the barbershop was decorated was actually done pretty neat OK now for the downside I marked one store off because they don't except ATM or credit cards although they do have an ATM machine there to get cash it still is going to cost you $2.50 per transaction plus whatever your bank charges you. Now the worst of it is when I get called back The floor was filled literally with hair around all the Barber stations your feet weren't touching the tile they were walking on other peoples hair that I thought was pretty disgusting and quite lazy when there's four barbers and none of them are cleaning up their mess it only takes a minute or two to clean it up and I guess what's even more concerning is if they can't clean up the floor are they not cleaning their gutters and shears after every cut those other peoples hair going through your hair makes you wonder so for this I mark down another two stars. The only reason I didn't give it one star is because the staff is very friendly and the prices are good and they are very welcoming but to get over how dirty the floor was with hair it'll be hard for me to come back. read more

With being so busy lately I haven't had time to book an appointment with my regular barber for my days off and I am waaaay over due for a cut. Not wanting to go another week without a haircut I reached out to friends for recommendations. Multiple upon multiple of them responded saying ,"go see Nicole at J's". So that's just what I did and I'm SO GLAD I did. Greeted with a nice big smile when I walked in. Got such a great cut from her and done right the first time. Great conversation like if we were old friends from way back and that's important because the first visit to a new barber can be awkward at times but not with Nicole. Before we left she even turned on the toy train so my two year old son could see it. The shop itself is very great. Has an old school barber feel with very reasonable prices. My son couldn't get enough of the rocking horses and toy trucks available for him to play with. Without a doubt I can say I will be visiting J's to get a cut from Nicole more often. In fact very often as a regular. You should go see her too. EVERY TWO WEEKS NICOLE! :) Thanks for the great service. read more

Best barber shop I've ever had. Everyone that works there, at one time or another, has cut my hair, and they are all equally as experienced/professional. The place is not a rubber stamp clipper mill, but is a legitimate local barber shop, with people who seem to enjoy their job. Price is fair enough for these days. I've been going here for years, and I haven't had a disappointing haircut yet. I highly recommend these guys. read more

Not sure if Jay reads these reviews but let me be the first to say your Shop is perfect. Ride down the road from me and my military haircut is on point. I will get the girls name next time. She did an amazing job. Remember people this is a retirement community and you need to be mindful of their hours. The wait is def worth it though. You are surrounded my old Americana and the men and women that frequent the shop are filled with history knowledge. I spoke with a gentlemen about his time is the Marine Corp for almost 20 minutes. The haircuts I get here are hit or miss. But I come for the fast service. Open 7 days a week and have a play area for kids. Only one weirdo who works here. I don't know his name, but his chair is the first one on the left hand side. So if you get him, good luck. Every time I get him my cuts have been horrible. read more

Penny was not only personable, professional and friendly, but her cut was excellent! This was only the 3rd time in my life where a stylist/barber got it right on the first time. She listened to what I wanted and did exactly that. Most barbers tend to treat you sort of like the original Fords--you can have any cut you want as long as it's a buzz cut. I've had nothing but positive experiences every time I've gone to J's Barbershop. It has a friendly, experienced staff who know what they're doing and can facilitate any type of request. I've had my hair cut by many of the barbers in the shop and have always gotten the hairstyle I've requested. I've been to many "haircut" shops in my life and at J's I feel welcomed, not rushed to get in, get cut and hand over my money. I highly recommend taking your family for a fun atmosphere that takes you back to the olden days. I highly recommend one hairstylist in particular who has never failed to give me an exceptional haircut. Her name is Penny and you'll recognize her by her blonde hair. She is great with kids and is always smiling and a great conversationalist. If it's your first time and your unsure who to go with, pick her. You won't be disappointed. read more

There are no "hood" barbers in Menifee, but there is one girl in here that has it just about close. She gets my sons lines and fade really close to what I'm use to at a hood barber. She doesn't use a razor but my son leaves w pretty clean sides and cut. Her name is Crystal and I recommend her for a "hood cut". read more

Sadly I made the mistake of trying this place out twice for my son. The first time they botched it and I thought I would give them a second chance. My bad for thinking that. My son has a little surfer haircut and I wanted a 'bowl' cut for him. I joked with the barber about how we don't literally put a bowl on his head, but that's the style that works best for him because his hair is so straight and if you try to style it, it will look choppy. At the end...my son's hair was CHOPPED and layered. Even if I wanted the layered look, it was horribly done. When I commented to the barber that he butchered my kids head and was taking way too much off. He said that maybe I should have been more specific. I was fuming when I left the place and called him when I got home and said "You put layers in the side of my sons head when I asked for a bowl cut and you wonder why I'm upset. I don't know how much more specific I could have been about a bowl cut". The guy looked to be the era of The Monkey's so I figured he would know what a bowl cut was. I told him I would sadly never go there again, nor recommend it to my friends. Thankfully they offered to tear the check up so I wasn't out money. But I run a Mom's group and I have had at least 2 other Mom's tell me about their horrible experience as well as one of their husbands. Don't recommend going here. read more

Since I was a little boy I've had my hair cut by my dad(Jay) and I've never been disappointed once! I get perfect cuts all the time, and I'm always satisfied when I walk out! The building itself is GREAT, and there's plenty of stuff for kids and adults to do while there waiting.
