I needed sort of an emergency haircut on a Sunday and I unfortunately wasn't able to make it to my regular barber shop in time so I found that this place was still open and decided to stop by for a quick cut Walked in and was immediately sat down... don't remember the name of the girl who cut my hair, but she was friendly enough, even though the haircut wasn't the greatest. My kids weren't with me, but I'm sure they would've loved the inside while they waited. Marissa helped us today and in the phone call prior to walking in she made sure to ask if our child needed accommodations for stimming, and if he was verbal. I wanted to cry this morning when I did my son's hair! My husband took him last night to get his usual - trim on the top, fade on the sides, and a hard part. When he came home his hair was dry and I didn't notice. My husband said the barber told him she made the hard part a little thicker because his hair was poofy. He was also getting his hair cut so didn't think to examine the part. THIS IS NOT A HARD PART!!!!! It's supposed to be a line, not a one inch bald spot down his head! Idk if she didn't wet his hair or if she just messed up and kept going, but this is horrible!!! We used to come to Stew's back in the day and then came to J's a few times but their ATM machine was always broken so we went elsewhere. Our other shop was booked so we went here. What a mistake. They came out so natural looking and accented her face nicely! My daughter wanted a new cut, but wasn't decided. We trusted Nicole so much at that point that we told her to work her magic and did she ever! The new cut Nicole did suited Kenzie so well; as the style. It's something that will be easy for a busy teen to keep up. Nicole exceeded our expectations and she is by far the best hair dresser that I've found in the area since moving here 12 years ago. I Live in the area part time. and thought I would give a local place a try. I had a haircut here prior and it was really good. a barber with a name that starts with "G" gave me the cut. I made an appointment with him for the Murrieta location-I show up and he is at the other location in Menifee. Apparently, he keeps his own schedule and no one could really help me get things scheduled with him. I got a hold of him (finally) and made an appointment for Sunday at the Murrieta location. He didn't show up. I could see the look of the other barbers there. It was almost like they weren't surprised. The staff here are all very friendly. Cute little shop tucked away in the corner. Went to Crystal for a Brazilian blowout treatment. She did such a wonderful job. Took her about 4 hours to complete the Brazilian since I have very thick hair. One thing I noticed is that she is VERY gentle when she works. I greatly appreciated that since I hair frizzy tangled hair and other hairdressers tend to pull and yank to do any process to my hair. But Crystal was able to work with my hair without any pulling, it was almost relaxing to have her do my Brazilian, that's a first for sure! I def recommend her for a Brazilian, good results, and treats your head with respect lol PS. The Starbucks in that shopping center is an added plus, hit Starbucks for a yummy drink and get your hair did at J's! read more

There is usually a wait , and when you get in the seat , it's a crap shoot . I am a former Marine , but dont wear my hair that short now. They are all about getting you in and out with those clippers . Last time I went and got home only to look closer at the sides of my cut . One side longer than the other , and very noticeable. Okay, amazing does not put enough emphasis on how great the people are at this Barbershop! Long story short-had my hair butchered by someone not at this shop (patchy coloring, breakage and uneven cut-yuck!) and I was in a time crunch to get my head looking halfway decent...Called the shop and J got me setup with Nicole who literally saved my hair!! I was in need of a serious miracle and she delivered! I left feeling like a brand new woman and enjoyed her company the entire time she was working her magic on my hot mess of a head. On a side note the owner J is an absolute sweetheart and knows what amazing customer service is! Other side notes: -Took 3 kids with me and they were content the entire time as there are tvs and a play area -Everyone-literally EVERYONE is incredibly down to earth and makes you feel welcomed -My hair went from looking like my kids did the coloring to looking amazing!! If you're looking for that just released from prison look then THIS IS YOUR PLACE. All I can say they DO NOT know how to cut a flat top. My husband who has had a flat top for 25 years came home looking like he was just released from prison. She might as well shaved his head. Had a 1 pm appointment walked in at 1:09 even though she claimed it was 1:10 pm and the woman who was supposed to cut my son's hair had just given up my son's chair to the guy who walked literally in front of us as we came in through the door! The walk in was barely sitting when she cancelled me. She said it's almost 1:10 and I didn't think you would come. Was in a hurry. Needed a haircut, so I figured I would bite the bullet and pay the 21 dollars for a haircut. This place is a quarter of a mile from my house. Big mistake. The fade was goodon the sides, but the top was a mess. All kinds of untrimmed, unblended, random length hair. Plus, cash only. They have an ATM machine that charges $1.95 service fee. Not bad. But then later another, seperate $2.00 J's barber shop atm fee showed up. So, 21 dollar haircut. 3.95 atm fee. Plus I gave a 4 dollar tip. All in all, $28.95 to come home and realize I got a shitty haircut. Next time I will wear a hat to my appointment! read more

Came in on a Sunday around noon, absolutely no wait which was awesome! Everyone in there was very nice and didn't hesitate to greet me. Sat right down in the first chair and an older woman gave me an amazing mid-low skin fade. She took her time blending the fade and made sure it looked perfect! She also gave me some aftershave once it was all said & done which is overlooked at a lot of other barbershops, super thankful they keep everything sanitary and clean. I took my 2.5 year old in for a haircut. They were able to take us right away. I was worried about going too short. I had taken him in to the kids salon in Temecula where they cut it way too short despite me showing pictures. But here She really listened and asked several times if the length was ok. I could tell she really wanted to get it right for us. She treated my son like a little man, but was gentle and able to move around him when he wasn't being particularly cooperative. The 5 star ratings are true! On a trip to So Cal we stopped by this charming barbershop for a quick cut for my 6 year old son. The shop is very clean and the decor is spot on, with high ceilings, a train track on the ceiling (with a moving train) and a large TV screen. Most importantly the older gentleman who cut my son's hair was very friendly and made my son feel welcome and at ease. I told the barber what kind of cut I wanted for my son and he did a great job. Worst experience ever. After sitting through 80% of the haircut with the barber gouging me with the clippers and scraping the comb harshley over my scalp, I finally had enough. I complained that he was hurting me and that there was no need to be so heavy handed. He apologized and offered excuses. I told him no excuses just stop it, or I would leave. Then a female barber stuck her nose in and told me that he has to comb that way to get the hair up from my scalp. I asked her to mind her own business. She continued and I asked if it was her scalp that was being abused? She persisted and I got up and left, I left them a $20, which more than covered the incomplete haircut. As a 59 year old man who gets haircuts every three weeks, I have sat through many haircuts by barbers of all skill levels. Never have I had such a painful haircut. As I write this, my scalp us still in pain from the rough treatment of the barber. I do not know who "J" is, but if he has these sort of employees, heaven help him. If the woman barber was J, she deserves to loose customers for her attitude. When a customer complains, especially about a painful barber, the only correct response is an apology. The other barber should have kept her mouth shut. I would not recomend this shop to my worst enemy! read more

Yes, new location from Murrieta Hot Springs for anyone wondering. Great place for haircuts for any age or males and females. I've been getting a cut from Sandra for years and also my two sons as well since they were small. They never ask to go anywhere else; even as teens now. The atmosphere and small kids play stuff helps with keeping the little one busy. They seem to hire great folks to work for them as most clients seem to keep coming back as you see the fill in sheet recommending their preferred cut and/or stylist. I live in Seattle (there's something funny about this, but I'll get to it later). But, whenever possible, I get my haircuts here. First of all, the customer appreciation and recognition here is amazing. I usually come home to Murrieta a few times a year; this year, it was 8 months before I came back. In that time, J's relocated to a new (sightly bigger, less cozy) location. I was worried that my favorite barber wouldn't be here, but lo and behold she was! She remembered me! After 8 months! It's very comforting to be able to get on a plane, fly 1200 miles, and still come into a place you don't frequent *that* often and still be greeted with hospitality and recognition. Unfortunately, I don't remember her name.. I'll update when possible. As far as the actual hair cuts go.. they're perfect. They look good when you walk out of the shop, and continue to look good for a while. This is not something I'm used to in Seattle; haircuts either look good for a week or "take time." Not to mention it's pretty cheap; $14 for a men's haircut? Yes, please! The shop itself is pretty nice; all the decorations carried over from the old store. Personally, I preferred the other one because it was a little cozier.. the new place feels a little too big. Back to Seattle.. apparently my regard for this place was so high that I unconsciously chose a barbershop with the EXACT same name! Sorry to say the one in Seattle doesn't come anywhere near.
