The barber and I discussed what I was looking for- I asked for a clean up all around not a haircut and I specifically said I did not want to be shaved down to skin around the ears/sideburns or in anyway like the standard fade (if that's you, cool... not my style). I also asked for my hairline to be squared up in the back but not to just cut it up because that's how rookies deal with tough necklines... What's the first thing done? Cuts my neckline in a random place squared up- almost by an inch from my normal neckline. I couldn't tell because I was facing away from the mirror.... But when you're told, they understand, you trust them. Then he proceeds to dive into my sideburns and beard and completely takes me to almost skin on the sides...I ask him to turn me around to look at my beard and it's completely wrong- all the way to the skin, my sideburns gone all the way up into my hairline... I'm like, "dude, I said don't go to the skin..."and his response "yeah, my bad I took it too low..." This coming from a guy that was a "teacher" at barber school? A barbershop that isn't busy on a Saturday morning should've made me suspicious, but I was feeling optimistic. Wrong. The barber seemed inexperienced and the service felt rushed. I specifically asked for a simple neck cleanup, which took only a few minutes, yet they charged $20 for that tiny touch-up while a full haircut is only $35. That pricing makes absolutely no sense and feels like they're taking advantage of walk-ins. Everyone was friendly enough at first to get you in the door, but once the service was done the attitude changed. The manager didn't seem service-oriented at all and showed no interest in making the situation right. For a place that should value repeat customers, this experience made it clear they don't. Avoid this barbershop -- you probably won't want to come back a second time. The barber even missed hairs on my neck that were covered by the itchy paper around my neck. Careless. Do better, Sunset!
