Returned after a couple of years absence; hankering for fried seafood called. The Little Red Schoolhouse looks unassuming on the outside but is cool once you enter. Go to the counter, order, pay and find a table either downstairs, upstairs or outside if you have a pet. My belly clam plate was lightly breaded, tasty although the fries were a bit soggy. I loved the tartar sauce and they gave us plenty. Dining in the woods. Staff is pleasant.

Dining here feels like eating in a giant treehouse. On a busy night, parking and finding a place to sit can be a bit tricky, but once you're settled in, the food and views make it worth it. The lobster roll was excellent--stuffed with meat and full of flavor. The crabcake sandwich, on the other hand, was just okay--the bun and toppings overpowered the crabcake itself. Same with the shoe string onion rings. They were mostly fried batter. I'd go with the fries next time. One big plus: the lobster rolls are set at a flat price of $28.50, making them one of the more affordable options around. The Southwest lobster roll with chipotle-lime crema was a standout--especially if, like me, you prefer aioli-style rolls over traditional mayo. Most people will head straight for the upstairs deck, but my pro tip: the best table is actually on the main floor, far left corner--great view, less crowded. Overall, a fun and unique spot worth the stop.

We come once yearly after the blues fest. Last year was an off year for the restaurant but they are back in typical form now. Delicious chowder, fried clams, onion rings.

On a road trip in New Hampshire we stumbled upon this cute restaurant. The deck and inside are so cute, it's like you are eating in a treehouse. The view is also really pretty. I got the surf and turf grilled cheese which was steak and lobster. It was amazing. The portions are huge, I got onion rings instead of fries and they were really great too. You order at the front and you get a buzzer then take a seat and go up and get your food. Cute spot with some great food options!

I came to this spot on my way back from the White Mountains, heading to Boston. We sat in this back area that was enclosed, but didn't exactly stay very warm. It looks like it's temporarily closed now, so maybe it's more of a seasonal spot. I enjoyed the chill vibes and kind of woodsy decor. Great place to grab a quick meal. I got the Freshman Fish Sandwich with French fries and my friend got the Gen Ed Burger with onion rings. Both were absolutely delicious! Since the restaurant was about to close, they sent us home with some leftovers - huge bonus points (I think that pushed them up an extra star)! I'm not sure if I'd ever really be in the area again, but I'd certainly be happy to go back if the opportunity came up.

Our son plays hockey in Hooksett and we found this gem. About an hour drive north, but well worth it. The lobster rolls are great, same with the chowder. The belly clams were overdone and also just not a good value for what they cost ($31) vs what was on a huge mountain of fresh cut fries. Have ice cream and baked goods as well I believe.

If you go, make sure you go on the second floor deck! Food is great and the selections are fine, the one complaint my group had were the fries we're NOT hot! Go for the food but stay for the view and the unique experience....4 stars straight....

My wife and I got lobster rolls and they were bomb. Absolutely amazing. We ate them too fast lol. We sat up on the roof and the view was incredible. Never will get sick of looking at mountains and eating lobster rolls. I mean cmon now!

Great fried seafood in a lovely screened porch with rough hewn timber tables overlooking a forested ravine and stream (the Pemigewasset River) and the mountains beyond (and there is a second screened porch above with more tables). We had clams & onion rings, scallops & onion rings, and fish & chips (cod). Each came with coleslaw, and the onion rings were a substitution for fries at small up-charge. All were good. The French fries appeared to be fresh cut, but were a little on the greasy side (not bad, just not perfect). The onion rings were wonderful - thin and not too-heavily battered. The cod was good and cooked well without too much batter. The clams were really good - you can tell they use a good supplier. The scallops were divine - tender and flavorful, fried to perfection - the best fried scallops I've ever had (and that's saying something). The sodas were standard bottled sodas - nothing special - we didn't try their beer and wine, homemade lemonade, or other drinks, nor their ice-cream, so no comment on those offerings. The service was prompt, the staff friendly, though it was a rainy day and not too busy, so I'm sure things slow down on sunny days in prime time. The atmosphere was lovely and serene -- looking down on the Pemigewasset River from a sheltered and screened in porch, surrounded by trees - despite the other guests and activity, it was just relaxing. I live in Seattle, and we have lots of really good seafood - if you want fried seafood, Little Red Schoolhouse is worth a visit - and so unexpected in a New Hampshire forest, out a ways from anything else. Strongly recommended!

Absolutely delicious cold lobster roll! I usually get a warm roll because I'm afraid the cold one will be overdressed and filled with other stuff. The cold roll here was lightly dressed but had a delicious flavor and was all lobster meat. The price was equally as great! $28.50 and that came with fries!

    Little bear guy I bought

As soon as I entered the restaurant I was greeted and was taught this is counter service place (which is fine by me I just want food ) all the workers were really nice and seemed close which really added to the nice vibe. I got the Spanish burger, it wasn't super spicy so don't worry if you have a medium spice tolerance. It came with fries that were really yummy. The place itself felt like a treehouse and was really cool. (Like exposed wood bark and fairy lights) In the corner they had a little gift shop so I bought a little keychain plush bear (5$)

I absolutely loved this place and I could see why it is getting all of the hype recently. The highlight is the treehouse vibes, and the views of the mountains are stunning. Although, they are known for their seafood, specifically their lobster rolls. I tried both the cold and hot roll and they were both great. The buns were buttery and soft, and the lobster was fresh. I was not a huge fan of the fries, they were too crunchy for my liking and a bit over cooked. But the onion rings were one of my favorite, they were thin and perfectly crispy. The service was good - those working were kind and attentive. Definently suggest going early because they get BUSY - the wait for food was about an hour and they were sold out of about half of their menu after two hours of being open on a Sunday. Again be patient, because their seating is first come, first serve. Their 2023 season ends October 10th and they reopen in Mid June.

Food is great. It's a pricey place however and value is okay. Go there periodically but not often due to cost.

The prices are great but the star of the show is the entertainment programmer who has provided avant garde TikTok reaction videos, edited over an endless loop of ragtime music, which pushes the medium of burger entertainment to new heights. However, this surreal experiential burger installation has a decidedly unsatisfactory burger (which in hindsight may be the message the artist is trying to convey with their piece). The burger forces the patron into a self reflective spiral upon first bite. So potently wet and swampy, the bun begins to disintegrate immediately as all of the toppings slide into the palm of your hand. Leaving you with a fistful of slop. 10/10 would recommend for any patron of the arts looking for a one of kind burger exhibition. 1/10 would not recommend if you're hungry.

The Kiosk they said to use was dead, we had already ordered on line fortunately. I get it, it's supposed to be cheap but I had the feeling at first that I had ordered and the place was closed. Then it asks for tip. Left a 20% tip when I ordered using my card, all the service was, they brought food out to sit in a very cold unheated area. Next time, if there is a next time, I won't leave a tip since service is nonexistent.

We came here after attending the massive Gunstock Ski sale. We now have an après ski place coming back home from skiing at Gunstock. Really awesome ambiance and even better service. Then a Pumpkin ale that was awesome and a Sour that made us pucker (for the good). Then we thought about food.... Their flat bread pizza, pepperoni and hot honey, is the only thing that beats the Ragged Mountain flatbreads.... And then we had their Bavarian Pretzels which were a wonderful compliment... Overall a superb late afternoon.
