My child likes this place. And I like supporting small businesses. I typically order from the window outside but there is an inside seating area as well as a couple tables outside. Thank you for serving Italian ice for us non dairy eating humans.

Terrible. This is the middle option for soft serve cone. Such a small serving. What a rip off.

I have been coming to J's for quite sometime now, whether it be with my son's or the wife, it has been an enjoyable place to go to get a classic cone, sundae, or more niche items like the Italian ice cream and cylcones (blizzard dupe). Unsure of the woman's name, but she is always friendly and gives great service! Sitting outside and watching the nightlife during summer and spring reminds you of the days of Foster's Freeze. I paid 7.90 with a small debit fee and was able to share this Rocky Road cyclone jr with my wife, crunchy and tasted AMAZING!!! Will continue to support this place for years to come, deserves every bit of my business.

Perfect place to visit after dinner. They have tons of options like ice cream, shaved ice, cyclones, and more. I love cake cones so I just ordered a simple chocolate ice cream with a cake cone and it hit the spot. My friends ordered cyclones mixed with different cookies and candies which they also enjoyed. Everything was well-priced and the service was great. Cool place!

Ice cream is amazing! Service is amazing! Just be patient, it's just one person working the parlor. She's super nice! Drive up, park, order, and you're out! Perfect for a hot day!

I threw my smores cyclone as soon as I got it. It was runny and it was just marshmallows topped off with crushed up graham crackers (not worth the $) also my sister got a soft serve and it was already running down her hand. These pics are my friends. Their cyclones were all melted

I'm thinking of starting a Gofundme for this place. In need of a major facelift, like BADLY! The quality of what is offered here and service is definitely unmatched to how this place looks. Don't judge a book by its cover is the perfect example J's ice cream parlor exudes. I pass by during the summer months and there always seems to be a crowd enjoying their sweet treats. Tonight, I tried the mudslide cyclone and I kid you not, there must've been an entire pack of Oreos in my cup! Lol! I got full halfway and there seems to only be 2 size offerings: medium & large. There's no dine in options here, don't be fooled. The door remains locked and you order from the window outside. Looking into the parlor, you can see tons of boxes their supplies come in. It's just untidy and really could be organized better. So for ambiance, they get zero stars. I have yet to try the Italian ice but will do so on my next trip here.

I give this place a 8.5 , it's not the best but it's also not bad at all! It's a small business so I support it and would go back :)

Card has a $0.50 transaction fee…read more Been meaning to try this spot and it did not disappoint. Alfonso was extremely welcoming and easy to chat with felt like I was catching up with my friend's tio. All ice cream are made in-house. We stopped by right as they opened at 1pm and Alfonso apologized as some flavors might not have set enough to be served since he came in a bit late today. He usually comes in around 5am to prep when flavors are running low. Everything we tried wasn't too sweet. Definitely will be coming back and trying other flavors! Taro -so creamy, perfectly flavored and not overly artificial. Horchata -not too much cinnamon. Surprisingly good for it being water based, just enough creaminess from the condensed milk in it. Strawberry Jamaica -if you love strawberries, this flavor is it. Paired perfectly with chamoy and tajin. Mango -so refreshing, I added condensed milk on my own and chef's kiss. Wished they offered condensed milk here! Watermelon -liked this more than the Mango, but both are good. Chamoy and Tajin paired well! Mamey -creamy but the prefect amount of fruitiness. Also sooo good. Coffee -if you love Vietnamese coffee, this one is for you. It was so strong in a good way. We topped it with condensed milk at home and it was chef's kiss. Crack in a cup.. If you don't like strong coffee, stray away. Pistachio -tons of crushed pistachio throughout. Guanabana (soursop)- favorite flavor from water based we tried. It tastes just like the real fruit. Lime -just enough tanginess. My colleague ordered this and opted for no chamoy, personally felt like it was missing something but still good on its own. We topped it with condensed milk and also chef's kiss. Vanilla -sooo creamy and good, there is depth that I can't explain. Coconut- creamy coconut milk, not artificial flavor taste. Tons of coconut shreds if you don't mind texture. But it's a bit much if you get more than one scoop.

Now I can say, I found a place that's just like the guy down the street from my abuelita's in GDL. Yesterday, we stopped at La Garrafa MX on our way to LA. As we walked-in I felt the "Mexico vibe" we greeted and were greeted by staff and customers "buenas tardes, buenas tardes, buenas tardes." Loved it! Establishment had two other couples and then our group of three. Who I presume was the owner was very nice guiding us thru his best selling flavors and providing us samples. We talked here and there and our families are so close to each other in GDL and Tamazula so we decided he's our honorary cousin. Lol Nieve de garrafa surpassed my expectations and it's the closest you'll get the nieve de garrafa estilo Jalisco. We plan to return again today on our way back home. In the future this foodie won't mind making the 2hr drive for nieve de garrafa. P.s. we kept talking about it as we checked-in at our hotel so our front desk started craving it (small world- he's gone before) so he decided to go and have some after his shift.

Last minute search for something to drop off for the after school staff, could not find any bakery…read moreor cookies that seemed interesting enough. Searching down the map for the drive back from LA, saw this interesting thing. And great reviews from others sealed the deal to try it out. Online ordering with pick up time was very convenient. Driving down, got a text about 5 min before pick up time, just perfect. Cute and super clean store. Friendly gal grabbed the order for me and I was off in no time. Got the party pack (30) for the school staff, and of course had to try for myself too with a regular (9). Ended up being an hour and a half before I got around to trying our box of 9. Looked interesting enough. Kid took his bite and said yum. I took mine to the sink (lol) to catch any crumbs, but surprised me that it's not just a ball of a regular donut. This had an amazingly satisfying crispy crunchy exterior, with an airy chewy interior! I can't imagine how much better it would be when freshly made at the store! Even an hour and a half later was delicious... Me and the kid quickly devoured our 3 each and struggled to leave 3 for wife before we had to go to an activity. When we returned, wife was also raving, what was that, where did you get it? Trust me, you will not be able to eat just one. I'm greedy, I definitely want more than 3 next time! Donut ball itself wasn't overly sweet, just delicious period. I guess it's the toppings that add the sweetness. Only tried the classic (honey cinnamon, walnut). The other flavors will probably be amazing desserts, but I think all I need is just the donut ball by itself. Honey and walnut adds a bit of sweetness and bite, but the base donut ball is a shining star on it's own in my book! Good thing was the honey was mostly on the bottom and walnut crumbles on top, so you can rub as much or not of those as it fits you. Few days later, each of us were still talking about this greek donut. Just looking for a reason to grab this again. Father's day is coming up, I think it's time for a Party!

Got the strawberry and the birthday cake varieties and, damn, they were both so good!…read more Perfectly crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, nicely filled with Nutella. That delightful crunchy fresh donut texture is to die for! But all the toppings are also great - both very clear and good flavors. Everything worked well together and no flavor overpowered any other. It was clean, spacious and comfortable inside. Great AC on a 100 degree day in March (this is our new normal??) The person helping us was friendly, informative and so welcoming, and took their time telling us the origins of the donuts, explaining the flavors and the options to us. Very sweet, very kind! We came in at 2 on a Tuesday and they had just finished making a fresh batch (they are made every 30 minutes), so we lucked out on that and got to try these at their peak! Really wonderful. This will definitely be a stop for us when we are out this way again. Might even be worth driving for as a special treat from time to time!
