It would have been easy for them to cancel on my reservation because of heavy snow the night before and throughout the morning during the move, but they were right on time and powered through the snow, ice, and cold. Their efficiency along with professional and positive attitudes made our less-than-ideal move a breeze. I have always hired movers with their own trucks in the past, and was worried I would be stressed juggling the movers along with the truck we rented, but these guys helped everything run smoothly. Do yourself a favor and hire someone that is mature enough, organized enough and actually knows how to run a business!!! That is NOT AND I REPEAT NOT THIS COMPANY!!!! I was in the room when my husband scheduled the unloading moving help. And Joshua is so incompetent at running a company that he lost the appointment information ( I mean all the information!)so of course he pulled a no show. Then blamed my husband for his incompetence. So my 60 something husband and the crippled woman were left to unload a 20' truck by ourselves. I should sue his incompetent butt for punitive damages for the health issues he has caused us. You would do better by hiring a couple of drug addicts. I would be embarrassed and ashamed if he was my son or husband by his unprofessional behavior. read more

They helped us unpack our two trucks after a 1000 mile move. They were understanding and kind when the move took longer than expected due to unforeseen circumstances and we had to reschedule them twice. Thank God we had JS moving to help us pack our U-Haul. It was literally full inch to inch: front to back, bottom to top, and BARELY fit our stuff. There is zero chance I would have been able to figure it out myself--I would have had to go back to U-Haul and asked for a larger truck. 3 big, strong, super nice dudes not only got our 15-foot UHaul packed in a couple of hours, they literally saved our butts! Josh and JS Moving were flexible and professional. That, I give him and his crew credit for. They loaded our belongings onto a long-distance carrier (Broadway Express). Between breaking down the furniture and loading, all in all, it took about 5 1/2 hours. This was reasonable. When our household goods arrived to our destination, we contracted with unloaders here to move our belongings from the trailer, into our home. Sadly, some of our furniture and TV were seriously damaged, others, majorly scuffed. In one instance, my wife's craft desk, they placed it on the floor and piled boxes on top of it. The desk arrived bowed and busted, Another, our TV was packed in a TV box and according to the unloaders, there were multiple items loaded on top of it (my wife witnessed this). The weight of those boxes on top of the TV box resulted in the TV screen cracking. Reaching out to Josh to discuss this matter, he either suggested we file a claim with the carrier or blamed our unloaders. The driver told us that when JS Moving loaded our leather sectional, he had to tell them to use the moving blankets he provided. He stated that they, JS Moving, did not use enough strapping and blankets for our move. The end result is: we have very little recourse being that we are now 2,500 miles away. I suggest that anyone using them, just be sure that JS Moving Labor takes adequate precautions while loading your belongings. read more

I'd used this company twice before with good results, so good that I wouldn't call anyone else But boy, did he blow it this time. I scheduled an appointment about 2 months in advance. It took 3 or 4 calls for Josh to even answer his phone, which should've been a clue. He NEVER calls back if you leave a message, and he never calls to confirm or let you know if he's coming. He was supposed to be at my house today at 9 am. When he wasn't there at 9:10, I called and he, of course, didn't answer. At 9:30 he answered and said that I wasn't on his list. He then told me that there are other companies that do the same work and I must have called one of them. He told me he'd call me right back. Uh-huh, sure. I called him an hour later because he was still a no-show. I'm over 60 years old and my wife has Parkinson's Disease and we had to unload a 20-foot U-haul truck by ourselves because of this jerk. He pulled a no-show, didn't write down my appointment, lied to me, and blamed me for his incompetence. Josh should get out of this business, or any business for that matter, because he sucks at running a company. read more

My husband and I are so grateful for the service we received from Josh and his great hard working crew. We lived in a town house that has a minimum of 50 stair's from the front door to the truck loading area. The guys lugged massive amounts of boxes and heavy furniture and all were still so fun and nice while working. The guys took extra care wrapping everything so that nothing was damaged. Josh hooked up our refrigerator and put the legs on our dining room table for us. I have moved across country and overseas many times.... These guys are the best!!! Thank you so much! read more

I originally found JS Moving from the Uhaul moving labor referral website, where they had hundreds of positive reviews. Since then I've used them at least 4 times for jobs large and small. I've hired them to move things around in my house after a remodel. Over the three years I've been their customer they have always been on time, have been completely professional, and have taken care with my things. I've had several of the same guys show up. I've felt safe with every one of them and trust them in my home. They have a positive attitude and work very hard. I really couldn't ask for more. read more

NEVER AGAIN!!!!! I've hired these guys atleast 5 times, tipped them well and recommended them to friends. Last friday, after picking up a rental van, I was home 4 minutes prior to their 1pm moving slot. 16 minutes into their scheduled time and no movers,, I listened to my phone messages and got one from them telling me they were 1/2 hour early and at the front door but wanted confirmation on the address. What? I called back. They did not answer their phone. I circled the building 4 times. They were no where to be found which is why I think they went to our old address. They did not answer their phone or texts all afternoon. At 4:30 I hired another moving company for the next day. It cost an extra day for the van and ruined saturday. read more

Typical mover tricks. They call half hour after the promised arrival time to tell us they're are stuck on another job. They said they'd be here in four hours or so. Our truck was due back in four hours. Needless to say we had to scramble to hire a reliable crew. These kind of business people double and triple book trying to maximize their volume. Josh and his crew were incredible! They came and helped us pack on one day and then moved us the next day. We had a LOT of boxes, furniture, and miscellaneous, not to mention stairs in one house. Josh and team were amazing. I had to take way too much stuff 1000+ miles and they were able to get my 26' truck loaded up. Josh's truck packing was better than any Tetris game ever! Nothing moved or shifted and all my precious belongings were wrapped in moving blankets. (He packed the truck from side to side up to almost 3" from the ceiling...all they way to the door. Every negative space had something in it. We were in awe with each section we unloaded) If I stilled lived in Portland, I'd hire this team over and over! read more

Okay, I really don't like complaining or leaving bad reviews but I cannot justify not giving feedback on this experience. J&S helped us move recently. It was a typical rainy December day. Since J&S had no tarp or anything to protect the flooring (HELLOOOO! you run a moving company in Portland, it rains a lot here, figure this out!) they ended up tracking mud into the house. In the process, they ruined a rug and got a carpet so dirty that I had to pay $150 to get it professionally cleaned. The rug and carpet looked terrible by the time they left and they didnt even aknowledge it. Very unprofessional. In addition, they forgot to close a gate in the back yard (another really lame mistake that movers should be taught in moving 101 training) and as a result, I lost my dog for a couple of hours. Very dissapointed with these guys. UPDATE- the response here adds to my opinion. You did not place ANY floor protection down (plastic, tarp, or whatever...) and you LEFT MY GATE OPEN. I never implied you should watch animals. Both of these responses are deflecting from the real issues and clearly illustrate your refusal to take any responsibility. Unprofessional! read more
