Amazing service! My family has done business with J's for many years. Just before Christmas, I had a blowout on the vehicle I was towing behind my motorhome on the way to SM. Every shop I called would not try to source the tire until after Christmas. This would add an additional 1-2 days delay to our trip. Jose found the specific tire and arranged to have it waiting for us. He had us back on the road the day after Christmas. read more

Horrible customer service! They ordered tires 3 +weeks ago and we never received them. We paid over $2,400 and it's been over a week and a half since we requested a refund & still don't have our $ back. I wouldn't ever go here or refer anyone there! Negative a million stars if I could -- A few years back, I brought my rare and desirable 1960's racing mag wheels in for some machining restoration work that J himself said he would do. Every time I called for status I got a different story on what was or wasn't done, consistently contradicting himself, and that they'd be ready shortly. When I finally got tired of the lies after a few months, I went down and insisted on picking them up. J got all bent about that and after waiting forever, he had one of his employees give me back my wheels which were in boxes and covered with grease. In boxes, really? Did he think I was stupid? I immediately removed them from his boxes to see that NONE of the work he had lied about had been done. He refused to give me the special order lugnuts I had ordered likely because he never ordered them to begin with. AITA? I suspected he was going to sell these old, rare, desirable mags out from under me once he found the right buyer. Don't do business with this liar. BTW, I restored these period-correct mags myself and they look stellar. read more

Took an axel to get a wheel baring done and were told it wouldn't take too long. First day I called they said we are working on it we'll call. 2nd day called were told yeah we're working on it give us a couple of hours we'll call you. Nope no one called that day day 3 same thing until I went in to see what the hold up was again I was told today it will be done. Then he calls and tells us he can't find the wheel baring we brought it.. nope didn't bring one I told you needs a new wheel baring you said you would get it. So finally they called at the end of the day and the total price would be $325.00! Wow this was ridiculous but what could we do needed it to put our truck back together. This should not have cost so much. Did a little research and the baring only cost $50. Never going back there again. Not recommending that place to anyone!! R U KIDDING ME. Places this wonderful do exist!!! Really good looking staff on top of being the nicest most helpful people on the planet! Had to be towed by AAA due to two flat tires. I was an out of towner and they were so accomidating. They gave me a good set of used tires for $70 bucks total. They were busy but had me out in 40 min. They have antiques and good reading material in the waiting area. Super clean bathroom and a drink machine. There were a few locals getting service that mentioned this was their regular repair shop. Who ever hires your staff and runs the show here needs a real pat on the back. Just a very friendly, well ran, good ole small american business.. keep it up guys!!!!! read more

If you're in Santa Maria and need to get your tire fixed DO NOT GO TO J'S TIRE & WHEEL. They overcharge for shoddy work. They repaired a low tire of mine by putting a plug in it (for $23- outrageous). The next day, it was low again so I went back. Someone came outside and eyeballed the tire- he didn't even use a gauge- and said it looked fine. I ended up taking it to a much better tire shop, which is where I should've gone in the first place. They ended up removing the tire from the rim, taking out the plug and putting a patch over the hole. Much more work, and they only charged me $15 and the patch is still working to this day! Save yourself the time and headache and go somewhere else. read more

I've been stopping here for a couple years for front end alignments, brake pads, etc. and always came away pleased. Good work at a fair price. I stopped in once with a slow leak in a tire due to running over a nail. They plugged the tire and didn't even charge me anything even though I hadn't bought the tire there. Great customer service and competitive prices, which is the reason I returned soon after and bought a set of Michelin tires for my vehicle. Highly recommended. read more

NO WE ARE NOT KIDDING YOU !!!!! The place might be wonderful but the owner SUCKS with a Capital "S" ....I have had the worst experience with him personally. On a customer level and on a so call friendship level. I usually don't have time to put people on BLAST or waste my time but I think what he did was so WRONG on so many levels. I know every one is trying to make a buck here & there but to STRAIGHT UP LIE & think it is cool. You know what we are talking MR J aka Jose. I am with the guy with the $30. it is not about the TIRES anymore this is on a more personal level.. This is why people always say mechanic is always trying to rip you off. He might treat his males customers with a whole different respect than he does with his female customer but then again I don't think so. AND IT IS NOT THE BEST SHOP IN SANTA MARIA . I am not going to comment on any one else experience but I had my share with this shop for over 2 years .
