    Enroute to Columbia, South Carolina for a basketball tournament weekend, and my oil light popped on…read morejust as I entered the city limits Friday evening. Unfortunately, I hadn't checked it before hitting the road, but no worries -- Columbia is a big enough city, so finding a Chevy dealership shouldn't be a problem. Luckily, I found Hendrick Chevrolet less than a mile from my hotel. I rolled in around 8:00-8:15 Saturday morning (May 16th) to see if they could squeeze me in for an oil change, and they had no problem accommodating me. I was able to drop my car off, head to the basketball tournaments, and come back later to pick it up with zero hassle. Mackie was my service advisor, and he was awesome -- friendly, personable, and made me feel like my car was in good hands. He kept me updated throughout the process and even recommended an engine filter replacement that I genuinely appreciated him pointing out. Overall, excellent customer service and a smooth experience from start to finish. I'd definitely recommend Hendrick Chevrolet whether you're local, passing through town, or just need a quick oil change while traveling. Solid 5 out of 5 stars!

Make the appt for "about an hour" and show up and service tells me 3-5 hours. I planned on an hour, took time off work and had to bring a toddler along (pick up time was right in the middle). Service guy was rude, didn't even know why I was there, then couldn't even reschedule the appt. Told me to leave and call the salesman to reschedule. Asked for a manager and they said they were busy. Isn't it their job to deal with pissed off customers? I could have stayed if they had been honest and I had been prepared to sit for half the day. Giving one star because I can't give less.

Our sales associate, Hailey, promptly greeted us and quickly had a few vehicle options pulled up and ready to take out for test drives. She was attentive and had a good grasp of what was in inventory. She was able to find mom the perfect car, and had us on our way! Thanks, Hailey! We really appreciated that Hailey was able to go find the vehicles, and park them under the awning, in the shade, for us to look at. It felt like premium treatment, when compared to other dealerships that have you aimlessly wandering parking lots to look at the mystery inventory. Jim Hudson keeps a pretty healthy inventory of vehicles on hand, so if you want to pick a car and drive away the same day, come here! Don't settle. Don't wait days or weeks to order a car. The dealership was super clean and offered coffee, hot chocolate, and water in their waiting areas. There's a Cafe onsite, but it is closed on Saturdays. Bummer, bc it was Saturday. We went through the expected motions of haggling and negotiations, and were able to close a deal.

Well, I asked the tech to look in glove box, and he came back and said he couldn't find it. I said don't worry about it, it's my fault. Moving forward 2 days, I got a call from customer service, and that's as when I decided to go to car, and double check, I was correct, I did not have any locks on my wheels. Then I got slightly angry, I called and left several messages for customer service, and the service department. And nobody got back to me. I then when to shop on the only day I was able to, a Saturday, after I tried several times, and no return calls again that same day. The manager of service department was then told when I was there, that I had aftermarket rims on my vehicle, and that was why they didn't rotate them. I brought him outside, and shows him me fully stock vehicle. And he said I don't have an answer for you, and the shop is fully booked for the day. I said I am sorry, but that is unacceptable, and the fact nobody got back to me, is also unacceptable. I then agent to the main building, and also left my number again, and this in now 2 weeks later, and no return call. Very unacceptable. You have now lost me as a new potential customer. Over this. Would like someone to reach out to me, if you choose to, obviously my many calls didn't get any response.

After calling to go over price and speaking to the manager Holly, she went over all the pricing and the discounts the vehicle had and after was satisfied with the price of the car went through with a credit check. After the credit check, the price went up $1995. For a "MVP NAS Theft Protection" which I already pay insurance for. I asked them to take off this MVP protection package the was unneeded, and unwanted. I was told that every new car has to have it through them which was not expressed when going over price of the car before the credit check. Holly is now telling me that it's a required "dealer fee" another lie. This is not a dealer fee it's an optional insurance package for theft and glass protection which again is already covered by insurance. The dealer is very untrustworthy. Don't take them for their word even if they are a "manager". If you do decide to use them get everything in writing before they run your credit and good luck as you were warned.

I recently came in to Golden Motors to have new tires and rims put on my new Jeep Rubicon. I had so many question I didn't know where to start. Warren was the man who helped me out. Not only did we sit down and talk about best options for my Jeep, but also what look I wanted and what I expect to do with my Jeep. He took the time to show me different options for both tires and rims. My expectations were blown through the roof. Not only did they come in super quick and I was able to get them done the same week. He made sure I was happy and what to except with my new driving experience and made sure I loved it before I left. During my time with Golden Motors I had the pleasure of meeting Chris. He is the Jeep Man. Chris knows all things Jeeps. It was great talking with Chris about more great option I can update my interior look and exterior. With all those great ideas he gave me, I can't wait to do more! During the test drive, I identified a mechanical issue and was assured by the seller that it would be corrected. When I returned to pick up the vehicle, I was told the repair had been completed and that the car had been taken to the dealer. Within three weeks, the same issue resurfaced. I later learned the vehicle had never been taken to the dealer; instead, it was sent to a different mechanic. Additionally, the air filter--supposedly replaced to address a smoke odor--had not been changed and was packed with debris. The original problem remained unresolved, and the seller ultimately acknowledged they could not repair it. This situation reflects a pattern of misinformation and inadequate service. Before purchasing a vehicle or selecting a warranty, ask clear, direct questions about the seller's repair capabilities, the mechanics they use, and what repairs are actually covered. Thorough due diligence can prevent costly issues later.

    Jamil Rd off Piney Grove Rd from I 26…read more Visited recently for purposes of car appraisal, first time in at least 10 years since I purchased car from lot. I like that they have all the different brands on lot, that can have vehicles shipped in nationwide for minimum fees. I do not necessarily like that the prices are firm with no negotiation or haggling. This goes for the appraisal too, they come back with one price and that's it. It's probably personal preference but I prefer a little wiggle room vs none. The inside of the building is unchanged from last visit except there are no cubicles only lots of desks. The entire floor showroom is just desks many more than employees it is not a great look. The use to have actual cars in the showroom, this is what looks better IMO. I don't think I will use Car Max in the future, there are better deals at dealers or any other named online Car seller site.

There isn't negotiation. Everything is in front of you and it's spelled out clearly. One of the benefits of buying from here is the ease of finding the vehicle you are looking for before you even step foot on the lot. You can walk the lot if you prefer, but CM makes it so easy to find your car before you even come down. You can complete the entire process online and have the vehicle delivered, or you can reserve a vehicle and test drive it on the lot. You can walk in and meet a salesperson who will help you find your car. They have a ton of vehicles available and you can select from any location to your local store for a fee. Some ship for free. Matthew B was very thorough and showed us a bunch of vehicles. He then helped us find our choice of vehicle and we paid to ship to our store. We drove the vehicle and bought it when it arrived. The sales person gets paid a flat commission so it doesn't matter what vehicle you choose. They won't try to upsell you. Whether you buy a Chevy or a Mercedes, they are paid the same. They are genuinely interested in finding the right car for you. From the test drive to leaving the dealership in our new vehicle was a little over two hours. There was no stress, no going back and forth. What you get is an appropriately priced vehicle of your choosing. I do recommend the pre-qualification, which you can do online. It's pretty accurate and prepares you for what you can expect. You can purchase MaxCare with every vehicle. That's really the only add-on. I recommend if you're buying a higher mileage vehicle. They do a comprehensive inspection and they fix any issues before you even test drive. They also post pictures of any discrepancies online. Every vehicle comes with a three-month 4,000 mile warranty. I would absolutely recommend them and will likely purchase my next vehicle from them.
