Not too many places left where you can get a real home-cooked, delicious meal for TWO with drinks for under $15. Juan Pollo, I love you! Came here yesterday and had a delicious lunch of chicken, potato salad, beans, salsa, tortillas and an orange drink that tasted like Orange Julius. Everything was great. The potato salad tastes similar to mine. They must use mayonnaise and not the dreaded "salad dressing" stuff. Cheapest quality food Bad Service/Management ... my boyfriend and I went to juan pollo and he had ordered a simple order. 4 tacos 2 drinks and the largest size of rice they had. We came all the way from alta loma since the Fontana location is too far but I wish we had went there. We get home and open our side and its potato salad.. I dont know how those would be confused they are very different. Upset we called and they said we would have to go all the way back and exchange it for rice which would waste way more gas just for this food. So since we are hungry we are the tacos before we went. This is the cheapest quality of food I couldve got a better cheap dollar taco from del taco or somewhere else that is fake mexican food. The lettuce was all the worst parts from iceberg lettuce that you wouldnt eat. The cheese looked cheap and tasted cheaper than their other locations. Let me first say that this place had no AC. It was 111 degrees outside and it was an inferno inside. We sat under a fan so it made it somewhat tolerable. We ordered the mini family meal - whole chicken, rice, beans, potato salad and tortillas. The food was tasty and fresh. The chicken was a tad oily though. During the holiday rush it's always nice to order out and eat in. Juan Pollo is able to make that happen. We stopped by to order a half chicken and small sides as a snack after doing some last minute Christmas shopping. The first thing I noticed was that there were a lot of other customers with pretty large orders which is a good sign (and good for business). I was able to order quickly but there was a 15min wait until I got my to go order which again was expected because the location was pretty crowded. Despite the crowd the staff was able to work quickly to be sure that everyone was served and satisfied. As far as the food, everything was good..especially the rice which I strongly recommend to everyone. I plan to visit Juan Pollo again soon! Thanks for dinner! read more

The flavor of the chicken can't be beat, especially for the price. I always compliment the chicken with the rice and the potato salad. I love how they add pieces of chicken to the rice. The beans I'm not too fond of because it's whole. It's better to take out rather than dine in because the couple times I've come, the dining area was messy. Well I know most people who eat there that I know love it. That being said I don't know that many people that eat there. I have gone a few times with friends who like it but never on my own volition. So I give this 2 stars because it is a good value. Now on to the things I didn't like : it's drab and dull and dingy inside. The employees aren't nice or mean they are just there like statues, they don't look very happy. At two different locations I had a burrito and I bit into giant chunks of bone. A friend of mine has raved over and over again how great Juan Pollo is. So I finally broke down and tried them out. I decided to order take out because this location is kind of dirty and dingy. I think that's part of the charm of Juan Pollo. It's cheap chicken...and they keep it cheap by not spending any money on decor. Their website pretty much says this is their business plan. I had printed a coupon for 2 chickens for $13.99...pretty good deal. So I ordered the 2 chickens (comes with 20+ tortillas and 11 oz salsa), an xlarge rice, 3 corn on the cob (it's buy 2 get 1 free), and extra salsa. The total was $21!!! I was like, "Wow...that's WAY cheaper than El Pollo Loco!" The food was awesome! The chicken is flavorful, moist, and lean. The rice was amazing...they call it pollo rice, and it had great taste, texture, and just about perfect. Salsa's a bit lacking, and you could probably do better with the fresh salsa at Vons (across the street). The tortillas were piping hot and great. The corn was average...just your regular frozen corn on the cob that's been boiled. They do deliver for large orders (20 chickens and up)...but I don't think they deliver on small orders. Not sure, but I'll have to try and see if they deliver next time. In all, a great deal and some great food. If you like El Pollo Loco or great rotisserie chicken, you'll love this place. This used to be one of my absolute favorite places, however after my visit today, I don't know if I'll be returning. Nothing related to the customer service as I've noticed others have commented on, the workers were fine and were working hard. The chicken quality and quantity compared to what Juan Pollo is known for was shockingly terrible. I received the smallest pieces of chicken I've ever seen, and they were for sure undercooked and were fat, so about half of the already small chicken I had to throw away. I understand inflation may have caused their prices to go up, but it was 100% not worth the 10$ when I used to get more for 6$. read more

I really like Juan Pollo. They frequently send out coupons in the mail so you can get a lot of chicken for a reasonable price. Their freshly made tortillas are great and I love their beans and salsa as well. They even have pretty good potato salad that isn't too mayonnaisy and has olives and carrots in it. I was a little alarmed to see that this particular location didn't do the best on their last health inspection (you can look up that information with a little googling), but I will try not to hold that against them. They are a small chain so there are other locations in the Inland Empire. I called on June 3 at 11:00 am to ask if I could place an order. A woman answered and ask if I could hold. I gladly said yes. Well, after 11 minutes of waiting on the phone, I heard someone else asking the woman if she still had someone on hold. She didn't care and never answer the phone. I went to Juan Apollo because I thought maybe they were extremely busy. When I got there the phone was put back on and it was not busy. Being someone who didn't grow up in the 909 or even visit the 909 until I started working in Upland, I wasn't familiar with Juan Pollo which -- like Baker's -- is somewhat of a small local chain with borderline cult status. My visit at the Upland location last night prompted me to write my first review in a while and it's going to be 4.5 stars, which I happily rounded up to five. I had to place a large food order for 10 people so instead of pizza I decided to give this place a shot since it's right down the street from work and I know coworkers have ordered from here before. I called around noon for an order to be picked up at 5:30. The young man who took my order was very good -- knowledgeable about the options and prices and patient while I thought everything out. I ended up ordering a Jumbo Pak (three whole chickens, extra large sides of potato salad, rice and beans, tortillas and salsa), two orders of soft tacos (three per order for a total of six), three orders of hard tacos (two per order for a total of six) and a Juan's Big Bowl for me since I don't really like bone-in meat and wanted to leave the tacos for my friends I was purchasing the food for. I was told it would cost $68.18 and the order was placed. I arrived at 5:30 on the dot to pick up and the only reason I am deducting half a star here is because I didn't actually leave until 5:40 or 5:45 since they had seemingly just started putting my order together when I arrived. No biggie because the young lady at the register was very nice and once I got the food, I really enjoyed my bowl -- it was easily larger AND better than the El Pollo Loco equivalent, and perhaps even cheaper. My friends seemed to enjoy the chicken, though I did not try it. The other stuff I tried was also very good. I liked the beans and rice a lot -- very flavorful -- and while I know they're somewhat famous for their potato salad, I couldn't get myself to try it because I absolutely hate olives :/ On a random note, I thought their salsa was amazing! It had carrots in it, which was a unique touch and pleasant surprise in terms of how good it was. Overall, I can't recommend Juan Pollo enough! Whether you are picking up something just for yourself or a large order for family or friends, you should definitely give it a shot!!! read more

I always have to stop at Juan Pollo when visiting my home town of Upland. My dad loves it and it's cheap. I think for about $25 you get a whole rotisserie chicken, beans, rice, potato salad, salsa, & tortillas. I always ask for both flour and corn and oh my god their potato salad is out of this world delicious! I wish we had Juan Pollo in Marin County, where I live. Nothing comes close. My favorite part about picking dinner up here is that it is in the old Pizza Chalet building! Great memories of hanging out at Pizza Chalet in High School..and a lot of the old decor is still in tact! I love the cheap taco deals here. Its not really much of a place when it comes to atmosphere and really it is nothing fancy. But I have to say because I normally don't like anyone's, even my mothers and everyone says hers is the best. I will say its the one and only potato salad I will eat it is absolutely the best. The service at this Juan Pollo is absolutely terrible. Placed a #1 party pack order on July 20, 2019. They left out of my order salsas, the dressing for the salad, and tortillas. As soon as I got home I called their store requesting to speak with their manager, and she refused to speak with me. They automatically told me to contact the corporate office to resolve this issue. I contacted Juan Pollo's corporate office, and they advised that it is the franchise's responsibility to resolve the issue. I was told by Jackie from the Upland restaurant, that they would pull the cameras to investigate if those items were put in my order. I also told Jackie, I had requested 3 times to speak with the manager and has yet to contact me back. She advised that the manager has had family emergencies. On July 26, I contacted corporate office and spoke with Crystal, she advised that the manager of the Upland Juan's Pollo did indeed pull the camera footage showing they placed the missing items in my package. I advised Crystal that was a bold face lie and to request from the Upland store to provide the footage because it's a lie and I never received those items. Very poor customer service, the manager refused to take any ownership, still pending to hear back from Crystal from the corporate office. read more
