Absolutely incredible experience. Our waitress was the sweetest thing and we got to chat with her a bunch. We actually both went to UCI! It made the dinner very pleasant. Great service! The food was also so yummy! I got the verde burrito and the birria. Both amazing and reasonably priced, although I preferred the burrito. Mom and pop type Mexican restaurant located in a strip mall in Rancho Cucamonga. It's not a large space so it has a small cafe feel to it and there is a bar and a couple of TVs so has a small sports bar hybrid vibe to it. The service is friendly and the menu has a good variety with classics and combo plates as well as a few specialties. One fun aspect I would like to point out: if you order the guacamole, they make it fresh for you tableside. For dinner, I ordered the enchilada platter. I thought it was really tasty and it hit the spot with the rice, beans, and accoutrements. I can't remember which cocktail I ordered, but I remember it being tasty and served in a fun cup. I'm a big fan of neighborhood spots like this. Before we got here, I was literally talking to my friend about a place that I would go as a kid for my birthday and my brother's birthdays. Absolutely delicious! I was greeted promptly with a smile, in fact the smiles kept coming. The service was amazing. I ordered an Al Pastor Quesadilla, and it was pretty much perfect. The temperature, the savor from the seasoned pork, the melted cheese- a satisfying cohesion of flavor. I could taste the cilantro, the onions, everything. The salsa was fresh, I wish I ordered more. It also came with Avocado, which I don't eat, sour cream and a red a green sauce-which I enjoyed. Normally, I never order Mexican food to go, UNLESS it's something small so I can enjoy it in the car. I was surprised by the fact that by the time I got to my destination, the temp was still on point. It was a nice portion, for it to be an appetizer. The tortilla chips were light, crispy and I could eat them by themselves. It's a nice restaurant, clean and in line with that Mexican vibe I'm familiar with. An excellent experience overall. I've been here before and service has been good in the past. Today I went and received the worst service ever. The restaurant wasn't even busy and they had a ton of employees. I didn't get the drink I ordered, I was ignored throughout my meal for refills. My order was messed up. We stopped by El Mescalito after hiking the Etiwanda Waterfall, found it on Google, and WOW what a great decision! My friend and I started with their Café de la Olla, and OMG... it was absolutely amazing rich, aromatic, and hands down the best I've ever had! I loved it so much I ended up having two cups For food, we shared the Sopes Trio (chicken, beef, and pork) and the Fajitas Trio (shrimp, beef, and chicken), which came with beans, rice, guacamole, and salad everything was flavorful and perfectly cooked. We also ordered fresh guacamole, and Ramiro made it right in front of us he was amazing! So friendly and full of positive energy, he made the experience even better. Estephanie took care of us throughout our meal, always making sure we had everything we needed. Super sweet, attentive, and always smiling outstanding service all around! The restaurant is beautiful with great Latin music, three TVs (I even caught a soccer game while eating ), and spotless bathrooms, which I always appreciate. Highly recommend this place! Came early on a Sunday morning, about 9am. It was not busy yet at all. The waitress was nice and it was just my friend and I. Inside it is cute and they have booths and tables for eating inside. There is no outside seating. I came across the place on Yelp and I am always looking for some good reviews on ichilaquiles. Sadly, these very much lacked in flavor and spicyness. I also expected a different type of carne asada this asada tasted more like a ground beef. They also didn't ask how I wanted my eggs and that's my fault too for not asking. Usually restaurants ask how you want the eggs on the chilaquiles. My friend ordered the same thing and thought the same as I did. The 2 stars are for the service , which was fast and friendly. The horchata tasted good and the potatoes they served were good I do think they could have been cooked a bit more. They also give chips and salsa when dinning in but the salsa tasted more like a pico de gallo not spicy or anything. Maybe I need to try something different and it will be better. read more

We came here trying to find a New Mexican food restaurant since we are new to the area and we were not disappointed! Happy hour is definite steal as well, we got a quesadilla and added grilled chicken. The chicken itself is super juicy and soft, it pairs well with the cheese inside. The waitress was very attentive to us if we needed refills she came by before we even had to ask. We both got two item combos, one with double enchilada and the other with 1 enchilada and 1 potato taco. Such good flavors with these meals we can't wait to come back and try other things! I had heard great things about this restaurant and decided to give it a try based on the positive Yelp reviews, but unfortunately our experience was very disappointing. We ordered the menudo, and it was incredibly bland with little to no flavor and tasted like it needed salt. My daughter orders the green pozole and it was also flavorless. Our server seemed distracted the entire time, never checked on us after bringing our food, and we never received drink refills. There was also a fly buzzing around our table throughout our meal, which I understand isn't always within the restaurant's control, but it definitely added to the unpleasant experience. We came in with high expectations, but sadly the food and service didn't live up to the reviews, the only positive note I can add is that the buss boy was super attentive and friendly. Came here with my family when my mom was in town. I ordered the carnitas which were delicious. My husband was not too fond of his carne asada quesadilla, only because he's super particular about his asada. He said it could have used more flavor and crisp. Worst Mexican food I've had in years. Came based on great Yelp reviews--huge mistake. Service was decent and staff mostly friendly, but the food was terrible. Daughter's "plain" taco came with cheese; they just scraped it off and returned it with melted cheese residue on the tortilla. Other daughter's bacon-wrapped shrimp tasted like old fryer oil and the shrimp was rubbery and overcooked. Wife's taquitos had zero flavor. My shrimp cocktail was literally store-bought Clamato juice dumped over shrimp--zero effort. After a very stressful situation with another restaurant canceling on us after confirming our reservation twice for my son's birthday on Cinco de Mayo, this restaurant completely turned our night around. We walked in with a large group(10), including grandparents, after being left stranded elsewhere, and they accommodated us right away, with all their kindness and understanding. On one of the busiest nights of the year, they still managed to make us feel welcomed and taken care of. The staff was friendly, helpful, and truly saved my son's birthday dinner. Everything was delicious as usual except for the actual shredded beef. It was super fatty and I got a huge, hard piece of cartilage or something. It was not good.
