    front yard

We hired Juarez & Sons for a landscaping project that involved laying grass with gopher mesh, removing tree stumps, leveling side areas, and installing weed barrier with stones. Eddie and his team were professional, efficient, and finished the job on schedule. The results turned out great, and we'll work with them again for future projects. Eddie and team also helped with irrigation system, fixing leaks and rerouting the sprinkler system. Thanks Eddie!

This was our second project with Eriberto, and overall, they did a great job. The project was complex, involving concrete, pavers, landscaping, grass, fence, as well as water and electrical work. They were able to interpret the design drawings accurately and knew how and when to execute each step. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Eriberto communicates well, and the overall result looks great.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] That said, it would be even better if more attention were given to finer details. The timeline was longer than originally proposed, but the quality of the work is commendable.

Eriberto and his crews are detailed, hard working, and provide great value. We had them bring our front yard to life, removing old stumps, a cracked cement walkway and big patch of dirt and weeds. Eriberto installed a pavers throughout the patio, new underground drainage, future proofed for electrical to be taken from house to future spotlights under trees, and stamped granite. We will without a doubt contact Eriberto once we redo the backyard. I would highly recommend to anyone.

Juarez and sons did an amazing job transforming our backyard. We had a dirt hill converted to a patio, which required two retaining walls. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Eriberto was great to work with, and his team worked tirelessly to make it happen in time for a party we had coming up.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We're so happy with the outcome, we've already gotten so many compliments!

Prepping ground for turf and decomposed granite

Highly recommend. We needed to transform our yard into a low maintenance usable space for the dogs and gatherings with friends and family . We had turf, decomposed granite and privacy trees installed in the back yard. Eddy, his dad and team were great to work with. Their input on design and trees were appreciated. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Visible progress everyday and Eddy was always accessible and easy to work with.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Support local family run businesses!!

Worked with Eriberto and his crew to redo my front and backyard. There were issues along the way and project went over the discussed timeframe significantly with a few quality issues. However, I really appreciated how honest and hardworking his team was. In the end, we were able to work together to address some of those issues. I look forward to partnering with Eriberto again in a future project.

    New sod (grass) & trees

I needed to have our backyard leveled sodded and wanted colorful privacy trees planted along the perimeter. They were very helpful and provided a very reasonable quote and finished the job quickly. They even went above and beyond by moving some existing pavers (beautification) and reworking existing sprinklers without additional costs. I would use them again in a heartbeat.

Juarez and Sons Landscaping redid our backyard a few weeks ago and I would absolutely recommend them to anyone. Everything went perfectly and turned out exactly as we were hoping it would! Eddie was great to work with - easy to communicate with, willing to work off of our amateur and minimal "plans", and made everything happen. His quote was completely reasonable for the amount of work (and lower than another company we had come out for a quote), and they were able to start within just 2 weeks, and had it completely done in another 2 weeks. I included some before and after photos, but the before pics were actually after Eddie's team cleared out 4 foot weeds from every inch of the yard. They were exceptionally thorough, quick, and professional. In terms of the work they installed fake grass, DG, and poured concrete path with fake grass in between the steps. We absolutely love spending time in our backyard now and are so glad we went with Juarez and Sons!

We needed a back yard "refresh" to make our home more comfortable during the pandemic shelter-in-place. Juarez & Sons gave me a very detailed written quote, which I appreciated. I had to wait a little over 1 month to schedule the work, because they are so busy with other clients. They put in new sod, some wood chips & weed block, and also replaced an old cement walkway with pavers. They did a beautiful job with the pavers, as you can see in the photo. I appreciate they made a good suggestion about which color stones to use, so that they match my existing house paint and a cement patio. They spent a little over 2 days doing the pavers. I see they take pride in their work. Everything was done exactly as it was described in the quote. This company seems like a very nice, family owned business. I think I met the father, sons, and cousins, who all worked on my yard at different points. Everyone wore masks the entire time, and they appear to be taking the COVID crisis seriously. Before hiring Juarez & Sons, I verified they had both a valid contractor's license AND Insurance & Workers Comp ( see https://www.cslb.ca.gov/onlineservices/checklicenseII/checklicense.aspx ).

You never tell someone that's paying you $500 dollars to take your time and do a professional job to go inside. I should have told him to get the F off of my property and hired someone else. I would have been better off hiring men from Home Depot. Totally unprofessional, rushed the job, ruined a couple of plants and didn't give a shit how it looked, even after I showed the owner the damaged plants and all the broken branches only to find more as the branches dried out in the weeks to come. He tells me the plants are delicate, but yet they didn't treat them that way. I will never hire this unprofessional company again and recommend that you don't hire them either. They have plenty of help to do a good job, but refuse to do so. This was a total rip off job to the tune of $500. I'm so sorry I hired this clown to do this job, every time I look at what they did it makes me sick and pissed that I didn't throw them off my property and paid them nothing. I've waited weeks to write this review, in hopes that the job would look better, but it doesn't. Thanks a lot, KAY GREEN LANDSCAPING FOR DOING A SHITTY JOB AND TELLING ME TO GO INSIDE. I should have kicked your ass to the curb and told you to take a hike.

Huge thanks to Matt, Danny and the team.

Another very happy customer of South Bay Design and Landscaping…read more We had South Bay out to do a full demolition of the existing "landscaping" from when we bought our house and the installation of an entirely new plan from our landscape designer (check out Dawn Engel- she's great!), which included a patio space, a pergola, driveway extensions, hogwire fence, raised planter beds, and a side gate added to our existing fence. These guys do not mess around. Demolition went insanely quickly, and our property was kept neat and tidy the entire time. We never once saw dirt tracked anywhere by the crew, which we can't say the same for any of the other contractors we've worked with (and we're actually quite happy with some of them!), and which becomes even more insane to think about when you consider the nature of landscaping work. Installation went as smoothly as South Bay possibly could have made it. Any time we ran into the occasional hiccup, as happens with all nontrivial projects, Matt, Danny, and Marcus offered thoughtful suggestions and made sure to confirm exactly what we wanted before proceeding. (We had either or both of Matt and Danny on-site most days of our project, and interacted with Marcus via email.) We were delayed a smidge by some heavy rain, but the crew worked through all but the worst of it (talking "if you step in that mud, you're going to lose a boot" type of rain). Partway through the install, we discovered that the previous landscapers had managed to make the L-shaped pathway leading from our driveway to our front door square with nothing- which wasn't easily noticed until we had the planter beds in and hogwire fence line chalked out. (South Bay had laid those out properly square to the driveway and house, as per our plan.) Matt, Danny, and crew were thankfully able to accommodate our request to fix our pathway up by picking up each segment and pushing the out-of-square part over by 4-6 inches; this added about a week of extra time to our project, mostly due to the fact that not all of the pavers could be reused, and that the pavers had actually been discontinued (!). The guys worked around this by sourcing very similar pavers in a different size, and basically cutting and grinding them to match our existing pavers. Post-install, the only way you'd know there are two different pavers in our pathway is if you'd seen it being taken apart and rebuilt. Plants, irrigation, and lighting all went in straightforwardly after the hardscaping work was finished, and Danny gave us a complete walkthrough of all our new outdoor systems. It's been about a week since our project was completed; the plants are all thriving, and we're still ecstatic about our new yards (and so are our neighbors!). In short: we had a fantastic experience working with South Bay Design and Landscaping for our landscaping project. They take pride in doing a quality job, and it shows in everything from demolition to day-to-day jobsite management to the finished project. If you're looking for landscapers, these are your guys. (Special thanks to Matt and Danny for graciously handling my incessant "are you sure you didn't forget about such-and-such little detail?" questions and never once forgetting about any of the details, and also to Sergio for spending basically an entire Saturday morning troubleshooting what ultimately turned out to be a manufacturing issue with our pergola.)

After looking around online, we found 101 Landscape and reached out. Alex got back to us quickly and came by to check out the space and talk through what we had in mind. In the front, we replaced the concrete driveway with pavers, added a grass lawn, and included a decorative planting area. Along the side and in the backyard, we replaced all the concrete with pavers, added more grass, and created another mulched planting area for low-maintenance landscaping. Since it was such a big project, we spent a lot of time in the design phase to make sure we'd be happy with the long-term results. Alex was very patient and flexible with us throughout the process. Once we gave the green light, the crew started pretty quickly and finished in about 3 weeks, which was impressive given all the demolition, hardscaping, and softscaping involved. The quality of the work really shows (see photos) and they even pressure washed the front and back upon completion. Cost-wise, it was definitely an investment, but we feel like we got great value for the quality and scope of the work. We're really happy with how everything turned out and can't wait to enjoy our new outdoor spaces. Would definitely recommend 101 Landscape to anyone looking for a full outdoor upgrade!
