I can see why this place is so popular since it's right by the college. Hard to get an outside spot. So the crinkle cookie reminded me of a mix of a biscuit and a cookie. I had the biscuit sandwich with the egg and bacon and the texture reminded me of each other. The flavoring in the lemon cookie was great. I had the special which was an orange jasmine latte, which was unique and tasty. I wish their outdoor space had more tables to sit at since it seems like if you're wanting to sit outside and enjoy this nice day, you're going to need to cross your fingers and hope for the best. Although I am not particularly a fan of the hint of sweetness, I am in the minority and the sweetness kicks off a nice balance if you pair it with their hearty bacon....which is totally worth the sin. Go for it. They also don't mind cooking my egg to order. I am NOT a runny egg aficionado and have never ever had to return an item to the kitchen due to a mistake. Score! The coffee here is always a solid. I don't think I've had the pour over at this location. I've been in the latte zone. I have enjoyed watching the baristas from the bar on the back end of the store, where the bar is parallel to the store front. There is sometimes not enough seating in the winter as the best and brightest Wolfies bang their brains against their laptops in the pursuit of wisdom. Okay so I have to write another review about my favorite place in Raleigh. And I promise I'm not just "basic white girling." I just think everything about this place is shwae as all get out. I spend the most time at the Lafayette village one, and I think it's the best out of all the locations. But I must give the north hills one a shout-out because it has not disappointed either. This is one of those coffee shops I wish had been around when I went to State. I went here today for the first time with a couple girlfriends for breakfast on a (hot) Saturday morning. They have both indoor and outdoor seating, but only outdoor, though shaded, available for the time being. Yes, it's dog-friendly :) I ordered the seasonal ginger hibiscus latte with skim instead of oat milk. It really was SO tasty - not too sweet, just the right amount of milk - I would drink it every day if I could. To eat, I ordered the bacon, egg and cheese biscuit. The biscuit has just a hint of sweet (maybe honey?) which pairs perfectly with the salt/fat of the many slabs of bacon and cheddar cheese. The egg comes fried, but I assume they'll scramble it for you if you prefer. I didn't intend to eat every crumb, but I did and I regret nothing. Biscuits were very good. I had the sausage egg and cheese and we also had a plain biscuit. Coffees were good but VERY sweet if you ordered vanilla. We did ask for a remake on one drink to use way less syrup. The remade drink was great. They said they normally use 3/4 oz of syrup. We asked for 1/4 on the remake. read more

For a coffee shop, they have fantastic food that tastes fresh and clean. The service is excellent. The only downfall is that it can get hectic during lunch time so expect a line if you come in around then, but overall the service is always friendly and happy. We came here on Sunday morning to kill time before our brunch plans and the indoor and patio were both packed! Luckily it is still a spacious cafe that utilizes its seating wisely, and people were coming and going so it was easy to find a spot after ordering. We had the pour over coffee, French press coffee, blueberry waffle, and tuna melt sandwich with side salad! We were impressed with everything, including the food! Although the tuna itself was a little dry, the egg salad (or egg relish?) complemented it so well that I wanted an extra spoonful of it! I think plenty of reviews do the generic thing. I'll make this a bit different: Pro tips: - parking isn't as hard as you might think. Coming in the morning, easiest place to find parking is right behind the building, if coming from the NC state side go around the round a bout and then make a right into Maiden street and take the first left. Usually there are always spots to park in. I usually do take away but parking is avail there for retail so you can take your time. - try their espresso straight up!! If you had a bad experience with espresso in the past don't let that sway you! You can tell they do a good job of dialing it in every morning. They do espresso right! Delicious / full bodied. They have different beans they cycle through, etc. - I'm not a biscuit person, but just get their sweet biscuit. Just get it. I got mine without any meat, amazing. I always love Jubala when I go but at this particular location I am not a regular so it's always good to visit this location! The parking is a bit tricky here! But you can park on the street or there maybe parking at the back of the location. When I first arrived the first thing that I noticed was the indoor and outdoor seating! Which is cool the front patio is well shaded but I am a indoor seating person so I found a seat inside. The inside can be tricky with sitting because everyone wants to sit inside and the sitting arrangements are very close too! They have a huge table off to the side for community sitting small to medium tables throughout. They share a bathroom with the hotel next door which is very clean. We ended up ordering a plain coffee, the Miele latte, cookie and a cake! My friend paid for my drink so I am unsure of the cost but the cookie was $2 and it was big! The atmosphere is laid back and chill! They do use square pay as well. Overall love this location it's in the perfect location for college students! And the coffee + latte's are good. read more

Stopped by to grab some coffee and snacks in the morning. This location was busy and is on a college campus. Parking was a little difficult to find. Plenty of seating inside and outside and dog friendly if sitting outside. The lady at the counter was helpful and informative and was able to answer all my questions. I got a caramel latte which was delicious and not too sweet and also got a fruit cup which unfortunately only had apples and oranges in it. Was hoping for a little more variety. My vanilla latte was SO good and he really enjoyed his campfire latte (the seasonal latte when we were there). I ordered a liege waffles with high hopes. I am not used to being able to see the sugar pearls in the waffle and these were unsettling looking. However, the waffle was delicious and I was not disappointed. My husband ordered one of their homemade biscuits with jam. They forgot to put the jam on his biscuit though which was a little sad. Yum! I stayed next door at Aloft and was in need of some coffee (NOT from Starbucks!). I go out of my way to support local shops whenever I'm out of town. We came here twice during our stay and was far from disappointed. First day, got an iced latte. Not sweet, but enjoyed it. Second day, got plain ol' iced coffee with added raw sugar. Tasted great. We stayed at the Aloft hotel that this place is connected too and we heard good things about it. My husband got a cappuccino. You order inside and then wait outside for your order (due to Covid restrictions). We had to wait at least 10 mins for his drink and two people got their coffees and they ordered after us. We finally ask someone if there was a coffee waiting for him and we think they forgot to make it because it came out 2 mins after we asked. Coffee was good and staff was nice, but kind of annoying to be on a schedule and have to wait over ten mins for coffee. read more

I waited a couple of days before posting this review because I wasn't sure if the amazing waffle was going to kill me. It turns out that it was just amazingly tasty and not even slightly lethal. A waffle stuffed with banana and then topped with a dollop of Nutella (and since the waffle is hot, the Nutella is melty). It was heavenly and amazing. The latte I drank needed no extra sugar (plenty in the waffle!) in a nice mug on a saucer. Great solid foam, rich coffee. Cute latte heart artwork. Jubala is underneath the Aloft hotel so there's parking. And it's on the edge of the NCSU campus so there's an interesting vibe coming and going if you can stay for a bit. They have seasonal lattes which are always delicious and combine flavors you may not think of adding to your espresso, but they also have traditional flavors such as a mocha. And, in the fall they have a great pumpkin spice latte. I also enjoy their tea selection for when I want something not as heavily caffeinated. You can also get the tea iced! If it's not enough that they have some of the best coffee in the area, they make some of the best breakfast biscuits and waffles. The Nutella waffle and the egg, bacon and cheese are must tries.
