SENTRY - WATCHING RESTAURANTS Judy's CookHouse 2280 E Hwy 60 Globe, AZ 85501 Companion and I were exploring mining towns and came across this restaurant. We stopped for lunch. On entering we found a thoroughly modern fast food restaurant. We were seated immediately and offered menus and drinks. Quick inspection revealed a quiet, clean place with waitresses ready to be of service. The menu was 3 pages long and had lots of favorites on it. It was nice to see a fair number of senior items listed. Companion ordered the bacon burger done medium. It was cooked perfectly and appeared to be homemade and about a third of a pound. It was graced with nicely cooked bacon strips, american cheese, lettuce, pickles, tomato, onion and BBQ sauce. It came with a nice side of creamy cole slaw. For myself, I ordered the green chile burger done rare. Unlike many other places they will cook the burger the way you like it and mine was cooked to perfection. Again, a nice big patty with jack cheese melting over it along with lettuce and tomato and a large green chile draped over it. This was one of the very best burgers I have ever been served. It was dripping down my hands and arms, but that is why there are sinks in bathrooms. An outstanding burger served with perfectly cooked onion rings and an extra side of cole slaw that I ordered. There were huge sweet rolls that were just put out on the counter, but I didn't have the room to eat one, and companion couldn't even finish the burger that was ordered. If I am ever back in that area again you can be sure I will stop there and order the same burger again. Service was fast and sanitation was excellent and spotlessly clean. My only regret is that we don't have any place even close to this in the Phoenix area. An outstanding lunch. 5 stars read more

Kind of an old school breakfast, lunch, and dinner type place. Diner feel. Menu has lots of choices - breakfast plates, omelettes, sandwiches, burgers, etc... I opted for a burger with fries. The burger is reminiscent of burger you might find in a diner. Quite tasty actually. Split a sweet roll for dessert. The only downfall was our food was not very warm and the baked potatoes were not cooked long enough and kind of hard to eat. We had a shake which was good. This was our first time visiting, and we will not go back. The food was average at best! The hashbrowns were cold and tasted like old oil. The ham and cheese omelette had plenty of ham, but the American cheese made it taste quite bland. The prices were extremely high for oatmeal at $6.19, grits at almost four dollars, and the pancake order included three humongous pancakes, much too large for one person One lady had a giant section to take care of serving and she did a very good job. When coming to a diner or restaurant you would like to have a peaceful experience. Although the food is good for the price the loud music is a big distraction. It was so loud I really thought I was in a disco. Don't mistake me I do like the music CC and the music factory is my times, but I'm not so sure that the others who was in the was. Three great breakfasts on Christmas Eve. Pancakes were perfectly sweet, french toast had perfect egg to bread ratio, eggs were cooked perfectly (scrambled and over medium), hash browns were perfectly browned. The grits were very watery, but my husband said they were still pretty good. We highly recommend this restaurant for breakfast! When did Judy's cookouts about a month? Ago, my friend had a service. Dog, which is also a crippled, and we've come in there. At least a 1 a dozen times if not more, and we've always brought the service dog with us. We have a protective cushion and a blanket for her to sit next to her owner. We went in 1 day. The manager came up to our table and says the dog has to be on the floor and we said, we've come in a number of times and Presented the dog and us of how we take care of it. She didn't care. She says it has to be on the floor my friend picked the dog up and started to leave, and I started to leave, she, the manager blocked me getting up. She grabbed my shirt and started pulling on me to kick me out. I went there the next day to talk to what I thought was the owner of Judy's cookhouse. She was there she threatened to call the police on me for harassment, which I wasn't harassing her. And I left, I will never come back.Butch read more

This was our second time stopping here at this cool little place in Globe. I'm trying to figure out what chain used to occupy the building; it has a distinct architecture to it. This is a good hometown diner with a laid back atmosphere and pleasant folks populating the place. We both had the pot roast dinner on a Saturday evening. Good flavor with the pot roast; the mashed potatoes were a bit watery to the point that a spoon would have been better. The waitress apologized for the mashed potatoes when our meals were brought to the table so we were prepared. Probably could have used an extra dinner roll. Service was friendly all around and the service was timed well. The server was attentive and made sure we had drinks. The price was reasonable and I look forward to stopping here again when we were in the area. We'll just get fries next time. read more

With very few options in globe you might think that you would be stuck getting sub-par food, but Judy's cookhouse is a great quality option. I had a standard eggs, pancakes, and bacon breakfast and everything was very tasty and my waitress provided great service. I will definitely be making a return visit while I'm in the area. read more

I can't really comment on the food because I never got it. We waited 45 minutes for an omelette and a chicken fried steak. We watched other customers come in after us and get their food in a timely fashion. One of them even got the same chicken fried steak. Then, after one of those tables finished their breakfast and got up to leave, the waitress came over to our table and said it would be "just a few more minutes". We'd had enough at that point. My wife told her we were leaving and asked to pay for the drinks. They charged her $7 for 2 iced teas and gave her a dirty look. We will not be returning! read more

I've heard great things about this place. I was looking forward to stopping here, but ended up being in a real hurry and couldn't sit down and eat for long. They whipped up the order lightning fast, she said "10 minutes" but I think it was more like 8.5 minutes , the cooks did a fantastic job, and the server Raina was incredibly professional and efficient. I didn't get to eat the egg and ham sandwich for about 3 hours since I was driving but it was still excellent. Also, a nice friendly environment about the place, absolutely beautiful surroundings. Edit 1.5 weeks later: still excellent service and great burger for lunch! I was driving back through with an amateur chef and he heartily approved of their Liver (he said not everyone can cook Liver well)...I'm not a fan of the dish but for those who are, his endorsement is impressive. read more

My guy and I went into the restaurant on a Sunday at approximately 10:50am. They were packed. It's to be expected that you will have a wait. We were told we could sit at a booth which a woman pointed to. We sat down and a waitress came and got our drink order. She quickly brought out our drinks and then got our food order. Well, that was the only quickness. The rest of the time we waited, and waited, and waited. She never once approached us to check on if we wanted a refill. Didn't let us know that it may take awhile longer. Nothing. But she did obviously know some other patrons and she visited with them for quite awhile. We sat and waited and watched how different people's food order was sitting under the hot lamps forever. And we were still waiting. I looked at the time and it was 11:23am and she still hadn't come by to check on us. Cooks kept disappearing and then a few minutes later would reappear and still our food was not yet on our table. Like I said it was busy, but when you see so many plates sitting under the lamps you stop and wonder why teamwork can't come into play. Perhaps if waitresses who weren't busy could take out some of the plates to waiting customers the plates wouldn't have to be under the lamps for 5 minutes or more. I did notice one of the cooks came out from behind the cook station to deliver food to a waiting customer. That happened to be the plate of food that had been sitting there a long time. I'm not sure if there were new cooks or new waitresses, but there was no teamwork and a lot of chaos. When we finally received our meal the portions were much smaller than earlier in the week, the amount to pay was more, and the service was not good. Usually I love going to Judy's with my friends for a late night sit down snack since no other places are open late. But on this night specifically there was a VERY rude waitress. About 10 minutes after we finished our meals we were chatting it up together like we usually do, because who leaves right after they're done eating with their friends?? That's weird. Anyways, here comes the waitress named Eris telling us "can you guys please go up and pay so I can leave? If you don't mind." WHO does that?? We came for breakfast while killing time in before a conference in Globe. We were promptly and politely greeted and sat at a table for 4; the place was busy but not too crowded. All of us ordered bacon and another side varying from toast, English muffin, and fruit. The service was fast and the gentleman waiting on us was friendly and funny. Our first time at Judy's wasn't a good experience but we decided to try it again and we are so glad we did. The second time we sat in Sandy's section. Because of her we keep coming back.
