Always disappointed in myself when I sleep on a place for too long. Lol. Always in the mood for a weekend morning donut. Donut shops give that feel good nostalgia of waking up as a kid and knowing if your parents will budge to get donuts then the weekend is glorious. As an adult I try to stay away from donuts but sometimes when the urge hits you have to go grab one. I've had this spot bookmarked for a while now in Newbury Park mainly because they have the cutest decorated donuts here. Definitely picture worthy and fun for the kids. They seem to have different themes and styles. Would be great for parties. I stumbled in this morning and grabbed a few of my favorites. Some of the classics - sprinkles, maple, chocolate glaze. I saved the fun hello kitty and baseball donuts for the kids who would be sure to come by later. Four donuts for $7. A little over $1.50 each ain't bad. Donuts are made with love and the lady (Judy?) working behind the counter was very nice. The shop is small where you grab the donuts when then there is a nice little bend with some seats and tables. Happy a place like Newbury has this cute little donut shop. read more

When I tell you I have had many donuts, nothing is better than Judy's. They are always fresh and fluffy perfect amount of glaze. I even live out of state and look forward yo swinging by to grab a dozen. I have tried to find other donuts where I live and nothing is good like these. I grew up going to this location. Donuts are great, but service has never been their strong suit. I visit maybe once a year because of nostalgia and hoping service gets better. Every single time, even growing up, the male owner always has treated my family and I rudely with passive aggressive comments and unwelcome sarcasm. I never see him treat other customers like that. I literally did my best to keep my head down to not be recognized and when eye contact was made, the nice service went away. Nostalgia was the reason I wanted to bring my kids in the future, but I may just look elsewhere. Their service is why I always go to other places more often even if the donuts are not my favorite. read more

I ordered some custom donuts for my daughter's class and they turned out incredible! I had expected them to all be the same but they went above and beyond and made each one special! Her decorated donuts are so cute. They're pillowy soft and not overly sweet like the donuts at most other places in the area. Most donut shops are lucky if one or two categories of donut are done well: raise, cake, buttermilk, crullers, and fritter. Somehow, Judy's is consistently tops in each of these categories. They are always nice and friendly. read more

I ordered custom donuts from Judy's on pretty short notice and they were able to get 4 dozen and one Texas donut done with quickly and beautifully. I don't think the pictures here do it justice. Aside from the great design, the donuts were really delicious. We'll definitely be going back both for custom and non custom donuts read more

Judy's Donuts is the best! Mike was so helpful when I called for last minute Star Wars and Disney theme donuts for a work party. He was kind and helpful, allowing me to pick custom donuts and had a great attitude; even was accommodating enough to allow for a late pick up since I was coming from Ventura. They do great work; so much time and unique artistry put into each donut! They were a hit and made the day super special! Best Donuts Anywhere Period. Having ordered from Judys multiple times over the past 4 months I can easily say they have the BEST donuts from here to the valley. We ordered these for my sons bar mitzvah party and they were a mega hit! They accommodated a large order no problem given the proper notice. You can also see from some of the other reviews they also do custom donuts they turn out AMAZING again let them know in advance. The donuts are always stocked and are made fresh throughout the day. The owner is always so gracious and the quality of the donuts is unparalleled. Come support an amazing local mom and pop shop. Disclaimer: I am not a donut person (don't cancel me); however, my parents have raved for years about this little local donut watering hole. On the other hand, my parental units are super donut enthusiasts, and even went to far as to say Judy's were the "best donuts ever". Now this is a big claim, but considering the sources, I knew at the very least the sweet holey treats had to be darn good even for my non-donut ways. I pulled up to Judy's in a quiet tucked away corner and with an open mind and sweet tooth and sauntered in. I ordered a dozen donuts mostly based on the raves from my parents. Apple fritters, Bavarian cream (or crème for our Parisian confectioners), jelly filled this and cinnamon sugar that...here's the thing- I can confirm that these are in fact the best donuts I've ever had. The apple fritters must be made by little cherubs; perfectly glazed crunchy outside with a melt in your mouth inside with small bits of apple with cinnamon and sugar in harmonious balance. To be fair I am still not a donut person unless and only if the donuts are from Judy's. read more

First off: WOW! This is probably the best donut shop in all of Ventura County. Not only are they friendly people their donuts are magical. I have never had a more moist donut in my life. The best thing about Judy's donuts is how they're consistent with the quality of their donuts. Plus they have such uniquely decorated ones. It's cheap & delicious. One of the best donuts I've ever had! I've tried a maple bar at hundreds of donut shops around the nation and most are not note worthy, some like Rolling Pin are gross, but Judy's donuts are some of the best donuts I've ever had. From the donut holes to the Apple fritter to my favorite, the maple bar, the donuts were fresh and delicious. I will be passing several donut shops to come to Judy's from now on. read more

I 100% understood why she may of been overwhelmed at that moment. 2 groups walking in at the same time, my group being a party of 6. 4 kids 2 adults. We were patient and waited for about 5 minutes before she sent the young busser kid out to seat us. I was holding my puppy in a dog carrier , I asked if we could sit outside. There is a sign on the door that says no dogs inside dining area. He said "no there is a table in the back at the inside patio" I pointed to the sign, said "I have a dog" he said "it's okay" so we walked in and sat down. We picked what we wanted to drink, we picked what we wanted to eat, all in our heads though. Because NOBODY ever came to us once we were sat down! My daughter was able to finish a whole coloring page before anyone even walked over to us. That's coloring in the lines and no scribbling. Not even a quick snotty "I'll be right with you" we didn't get 1 word. A bunch of ignores and glares. The server walked to an already established checked out table next to us to refill their drink, we didn't even have water let alone a hello. The dishwasher looked confused why we were the ONLY table in the whole entire place not being helped. The young boy who sat us, looked confused. We got up and left. The blonde server and the dark hair rude old lady , STILL didn't say a word when we walked past them to leave. Rest assured, they ran to where we sat to see what we left. Weird they all knew where the table was when we weren't sitting there. This crap of a service can stay hidden. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME HERE!!! I have NEVER been treated this way. I have NEVER walked out of a restaurant after I have sat down. We have never felt so uncomfortable, and unwelcomed in a restaurant. So thank you, hidden cafe for the most unexpected, rudest experience of our vacation.
