A client sent us a large glass jar filled with Luvbug Chocolate Chip Cookies. I've never heard of Luvbug, but the cookies looked so good I couldn't wait to try them. Luvbug's signature chocolate chip cookies are big, thick, and loaded with chocolate chips. The cookie is firm, and the sweetness comes from the semi-sweet chocolate chips. It taste great out of the jar. However, you can also heat it up in the microwave (or toaster oven or in a pan on the stove). Warming them up takes them to a whole other level of deliciousness. The cookie becomes soft and oozes with chocolaty goodness. Pure heaven! Luvbug cookies are baked fresh daily in small batches and hand delivered locally. Erica, the owner, learned how to bake at a young age from her grandma Peral. Her grandma would refer to her grandkids as LuvBugs and that inspired the name of Erica's business. There are a number of gift options available and a variety of cookies to choose from, including Vegan. If you really want to impress someone I suggest sending them some Luvbug cookies. Wanted to have cookies delivered to my wife on Valentine's Day, so I did a google search and found this place. I emailed the owner to see if I could schedule my delivery for a specific date (the answer is yes!) and he replied very promptly. Cookies were delivered as promised and they were VERY tasty! This is my first time ordering for Luvbug Cookie Company. Their cookies are very fresh and wrapped in an attractive box. Each 6 cookies are sealed in a vacuum fresh bag to keep them fresh. I first thought, why bother because I am going to eat a dozen, but I was wrong. I ordered the chocolate chip and they are so rich I could only eat two. These cookies are thick, moist and soft. When they say two dozen weigh 6-8 lbs, believe them! They are like 1/3 lbs each! That's a big cookie. So the next day I got reinforcements to help eat some of these excellent cookies. My girlfriend and I put some in the toaster oven to warm them up and make it like they just came out of the oven. It made them even better. If you want a crunchy out side with a soft inside, just leave them in a little longer. Say 325° for 10-12 min. Then serve them to guests with some ice cream. By the way the owner of the company is very nice and gives excellent service. And in today's world, that means a lot! read more

A little over a year ago a family friend sent us some when my dad passed away. It was perfect, we had so many people coming and going, and something sweet always sounded good. Could not be happier with the customer service I received from Luvbug (such a cute name, right?) I ordered two dozen of the chocolate chip and even though it was through a Groupon discount they were extremely helpful, attentive and even called me over the phone to thank me for my order and confirm the details! Will definitely be ordering in the future for family and friends far away. They have a special deal with FedEx and only charge $11.95 for 2 day delivery when shipping from CA to TX. I love Luvbug Cookies!!!!! We ordered an individually wrapped cookie for each guest as a take away gift at our wedding this past September ... Luvbug Cookie Company was fantastic to work with from start to finish. First, they sent us samples to make sure we liked the product. OMG, I nearly fell over when I took my first bite. My fiancé didn't even get to sample the cookies because I ate them all before he came home! Cary at Luvbug worked very closely with us on the ribbon color and design label for each box. He was fantastic with following up and really worked with us to make sure we loved the way the boxes look. The cookies were all delivered to the wedding site in Glendale, CA and they arrived on time, fresh and fabulous. Their presentation was stunning, with a black box and a shimmery yellow ribbon - exactly what we wanted! Once the reception started, guests started to open up their cookies and no joke, they were a HIT. People were raving about the cookies more than the cake even! At the end of the night, people were asking if we had left overs so that they could have more. I even kept at least 10 cookies for myself and they were gone in less than a week :) YUM. I just ordered 2 dozen cookies for a holiday party I am going to in a week and people are already looking forward to eating the cookies since they had them at the wedding. I will 100% go to Luvbug for future presents for people and I will definitely order the cookies to bring to parties or events. Our gourmet chocolate chip cookies are made fresh to order and hand delivered locally or shipped next day anywhere in Southern California or 2 Day Express shipping anywhere in the USA! So try and plan ahead to order because our cookies need to cool several hours before they are ready to package and deliver. We do not have a storefront for local pick-ups. Our cookies are unlike any cookie you have ever eaten or ordered online before. A dozen cookies weighs almost 4 pounds more than twice the size of any of our competitors, and they are a soft gourmet cookie that melts in your mouth with nothing but the freshest ingredients with no artificial colors, preservatives, oils or lards. We use only fresh eggs, real butter and real vanilla...you can taste the difference.

History

Established in 2007.

Our founder and C.B.O. (Chief Baking Officer) Erica grew up with her Grandma Pearl teaching her how to bake all the time. Grandma Pearl called Erica and all her grandchildren her "Luvbugs". So Erica has been baking since she was a little girl, and has been baking her homemade chocolate chip cookies for friends and family for as long as she can remember. So when Erica decided that it was time to share her love of baking and her cookies with the rest of the world, she had to come up with a name for her new company. After thinking about it for about two seconds, she decided on Luvbug Cookie Company in honor of Grandma Pearl.

Most places serve it in a paper cup where the espresso and gelato just blend into a mushy mess. Not here. Carrara's presents it beautifully on a stone tray, with a proper espresso cup and a transparent glass so you can actually see the layers of gelato and espresso. And Ama personally poured the espresso tableside, which really topped off the whole experience. Great food, great service, great atmosphere. Will definitely be back.

I came here to try out California Bun, an eatery that has harnessed an interesting (long overdue) concept, to package portable food. Here they prepare snack sized bites (or a little more) of favorite food fancies, enveloped in a daily fresh baked round brioche bun. The store is high ceiling, spacious and large, with ample space to dine in or carry out. It is a mom and pop joint, that is slowly but surely, beginning to make a mark. On the main wall, elegantly displayed, are all the many enticing varieties, for the day. My visit was designed to take something to go. The conundrum here is, what to order, because there were so many inviting choices that were talking to you. I finally decided to select three of these evenly browned and differently topped buns. The El Sabroso (Egg, cheddar & jack cheese, bacon & Jalapeno salsa, garnished with Cheese, bacon & jalapeño). The Roadside Burger (Seasoned ground beef, grilled onions, white American cheese, & secret house burger sauce, garnished with Cheese & bacon). The Mac Daddy (Creamy mac and cheese with a cheddar, jack, and parmesan cheese blend, garnished with Panko bread crumbs). So whats the verdict? The Mac Daddy was my least favorite. In comparing the other two, the Roadside Burger seemed to have the higher of (inside filling/inside bread) ratio, as compared to the El Sabroso. However, the latter is the most attractive bun on the outside and overall, contains a good mix of flavors and slight kick. Any food with a visible Jalapeño is a magnet, for me. Still, this concoction needs more of the egg mixture, to achieve the right balance. In general, all 3 buns were soft, had a nice texture, bread taste and chew. Service here is warm, inviting, friendly and informative.

We had two servers for our section, Nathan being our primary one, but as before, we felt the entire team worked exceptionally well in taking care of customers. We started with the Focaccia Rustico which was the best part of our last meal. This arrived heavily toasted. We prefer the softer version from our dinner, but it was still very good. The husband was eager to try the French Dip, and it did not disappoint. The sandwich had the perfect ratio of meat to bread. The au jus was flavorful, along with the horseradish spread. The fries were, hot, crisp and nicely seasoned. I ordered the Dutch Baby. It arrived freshly made in the cast iron pan, with sides of butter, syrup and berry compote. This was my first time having the German pancake and it was delicious! It will now be on my radar when having brunch elsewhere, but Freda's is the standard that others will follow. Team members checked on us often, as they did with other customers. Danielle stopped by a couple more times. We were thanked again, as we left, for giving them another chance. The next time I went to the store, the staff refused to serve me. In anger, I threw an object. It wasn't at a person. Nonetheless, the staff made up false reports to the police. The bottle didn't break. It rolled on the ground. But someone I've never seen before in my life claims it almost hit her. Someone who wasn't even on the scene. Next, one of the chefs claimed I told them to go back to their country. Again, I've never met or spoken to this chef. And that doesn't make sense, because my family members are immigrants. I would never discriminate against immigrants. All in all, this store is full of liars, people who lied to the police.

The basil was strong, which I expected from a Margherita-style pizza, but what felt missing were the diced or sliced tomatoes. Instead, it came across more like red sauce with heavy pizza seasoning, and not in a good way. Overall, the pizza felt rushed and should not have left the kitchen in that condition. I wanted to like it based on the reviews, but this was not a good pie. I'm hoping for better pizza options in the Camarillo/Thousand Oaks area moving forward. I won't be back.
