Fantastic shopping experience. I've been struggling most of my life with being unable to find a bra that fits. I've never been able to find one that is my actual size in any clothing stores and instead had been doing my best to compromise. This has unfortunately always resulted in back pain and a lot of wasted money and time. This was my first fitting ever and everything was so easy! No more back pain from my bra! I cannot believe it! -The ladies there were so nice and I learned a lot! -There was no pressure in the try on process, though I was the only customer in the store at the time. -They only had the perfect bra for me in one color for my size, but guess what? You can order directly from them and they ship it to you for FREE! -The shipping was also surprisingly fast! -The prices were great for specialty bras, at least for my type. Their prices are super competitive to other online retailers, especially considering that with Judy's you get free shipping. If you have struggled to find a bra that actually fits, I recommend you give it a try! Just keep in mind that right now all customers MUST book an appointment beforehand. I was recommended to Judy's to find a bra for an upcoming wedding. As a 32G-GG, it's tough to find something supportive, strapless, and semi-demi cup. In order to go to Judy's, you must first make an appointment. They are only open until 6:00 M-F making it pretty difficult to fit in to a working schedule. The location is also in a more sketchy neighborhood of Tacoma, requiring you to ring a doorbell and be buzzed in to the store. Once in the store, they seemed pretty insistent to see pictures of the dress instead of listening to what I wanted. I know they meant the best, but it was really controlling. If I felt I should be in control of what bra I wanted and could take that responsibility. They do cater to a wide variety of sizes but for the narrow range I needed, would have to special order and asked me to come back in a week or so. In order to cater to a wider range of sizes, they walk you through the process and pick out bras for you. I assume because they don't have every bra in the right size for all clients - it avoids someone wanting a specific bra and needing it ordered. While it would take a lot of space that they don't have to make it possible, it really underscored why retail is dying. It would be difficult to have the right stock in extended sizes. For the drive, issues with scheduling, and lack of product availability, I wouldn't go back. I was hoping it'd be worth it with Nordstrom level customer service and aesthetic, but alas - no. I am so displeased with this business and I will never go back, nor will I reccomend them to anyone. I am a nursing mother and before I conceived I was a 38DDD on one side and a 38DD on the other. They fitted me for a maternity bra that looked amazing under my shirt. I went home and tried to feed my daughter and the bra is restricting my larger breast- my daughter cannot latch on. I called the company the next day and told them the bra isn't allowing me to feed my child. They told me they do no refunds or exnahges but after I expressed my dissapointment they told me to come back in. So I put my 8 week old back in my car and drove all the way up there (45 minutes one way) and they told me that the bra fit fine and they wouldn't do anything more for me because it was already worn. Such an unprofessional business. Although they are correct- the bra does fit (like a NON nursing bra would- but this nursing bra doesn't fit my breasts)- my child cannot latch on because of the shape the bra forces my breast to take. They won't take refunds or exchanges on anything worn- HOW WOULD I HAVE KNOWN IT DIDN'T FIT UNLESS I WORE IT???? read more

I had my first appointment at Judy's yesterday, and could not be happier. For years I shoved my breasts into bras that were way too small, just because they were the only ones I could find in stores. Being sized at other stores was useless because they would look at my breasts over my shirt (and the non-fitting bra) and size me wrong. At Judy's they took my band size, looked at my breasts (shirt off, current bra on), and the second bra they had me try on fit like a dream. Apparently I'm a 46J, when I've been putting myself in a G cup for years! The staff was kind and professional, answering all of my questions and making sure to make me feel comfortable. Once I was in the changing room I didn't have to leave for anything, they completely took care of me. I have no doubt I will be going back for more bras when they are needed. After many, MANY years of shopping here (and referring everyone I can), I am sad to say I will never give the Tacoma store my business again due to the terrible 'customer service' we recieved today. While I am almost used to neglectful service from fast food restaurants, I am never comfortable being treated outright rudely, especially in an overpriced specialty boutique. This place is wonderful. I used to giggle at the bright pink signage when I'd go to the pho place next door.... but it stuck with me! When I was DESPERATE for an insert for my wedding dress after my alterations lady messed up, I immediately thought of this place. They were so kind, caring, and took their time making sure I was satisfied. I was a frazzled bride and desperate to find something, and they could have easily sold me an expensive corset. But instead, they were honest and recommended having my dress taken in an inch. They even spent 10-15 minutes researching places that would do the alteration last minute. I called Judy's today to get 3 appointments, one for my grandmother-in-law (who has difficulty standing for very long periods of time), my sister-in-law (who is special needs) & myself (in the market for a nursing bra). They were able to schedule all of us for the same day, much to my happiness & excitement. We arrived a few minutes prior to our scheduled appointments, fully expecting to be there an hour or more. They got Grandma right into a fitting room & were not only very accommodating to her physical needs, but also her religious background (LDS). She was fit quickly, kindly and efficiently. While Grandma was being fit, my sister in law was called back. As I wasn't sure how she'd react to being in the fitting room with a stranger, I asked to go back & they had no problem with that. She, too, was fit quickly and kindly. After Sis was done, my turn was next. As I've not yet delivered, they were hesitant to sell anything to me as the fit would change after delivery. I got a sleep bra for the time being and not only did she help me with the bra I bought at her store, but helped my current bra to fit a bit better with simple adjustments to the straps & hooks. We were in and out in about 45 minutes... 3 'different' fittings in about half the time we were expecting. With our crowd, that makes a big difference! I am very excited to have found this place! I've only been able to shop at one (very expensive) store prior because of my size (small waist, larger bust) and am excited to have found such a friendly & inexpensive option. The service is top notch and I've already been recruiting new customers for them by telling my friends and family about my experience. I am certain that I'll be back to buy my 'official' nursing bra & will most likely use them in the future for other 'non-nursing' bra purchases! read more

I love this place! These ladies are so helpful and handled me with great care! I was in a bind due to a snug bridesmaid dress and they had me go home and get the dress and tried several options to make it work- they gave me some advice on two quick alterations that did the trick and did not result in a sale for them that day. I have purchased bustier and sports bra which I love and this is now my go to spot for undergarments! My experience here was okay. The staff seemed nice enough but I heard them being a bit catty about a customer who had been in earlier and that was off putting. They also didn't seem to have (or at least didn't bring me any) nursing bras with band sizes smaller than a 32. I know that's unusually small but that's why I was in a specialty shop. Most of the nursing bra options were pretty utilitarian and I like to feel pretty. When I told the lady who was fitting me what I was interested in (demi or balconette style) she said that most of the women who shop there aren't looking for 'something so... young'. They only seemed to have full coverage options and kept bringing me bras without underwires. I feel uncomfortable in that much bra, typically and dislike the look bras without underwires tend to give. They did find me one pretty vintage looking bra that had a band size which ran small, thankfully. So for me, the options were too limited and I didn't feel very comfortable in the store but that is just my experience and if you are looking for a nurisng bra, like more coverage and want lots of options in that area, this would be a good store to go to. read more

I am a large busted nursing mom, and I have been struggling to find a nursing bra that is comfortable and extremely supportive. It's been a frustrating and stressful road. I made a fitting appointment at Judy's and the stress was lifted off my shoulders! I was fitted for my current nursing size, and was personally attended to until I found exactly what fit and had the support I was looking for. I sees up with a great daily bra, and even found a fun leopard print deep plunge nursing bra. I feel much more comfortable in my own skin after leaving Judy's. Worst experience I've ever had at a bra store! I called Monday to make an appointment for the next day they said they would be busy but would pull some bras out for me to try on, gave them my size. Showed up Tuesday for my appointment none of the bras were in size I had told her, she gave me 3 different sizes. Mind you them being "busy" was 2 girls working and only one barely helping another lady while the other one sat at the desk doing nothing. One of the girls I believe her name was Kylie was extremely rude and acted as we were and inconvenience! Left the store immediately! read more

They stock the of size breast pump parts! I went to Baby's "R" Us and had no luck getting the parts... However a nice young lady on the staff suggested Judy's and said they have a large stock of the Medella parts and stock the smaller sized parts as well. My trip there was a little overwhelming, they handle each individual customer one on one and they have a wide variety of nursing and maternity apparel on hand. They also have an alteration service which can customize any piece of clothing in the store. read more

Amazing experience, can't wait to come back here. I moved here 2 years ago and I've been looking for a store like this. My size is pretty uncommon (think small waist, big cup) and its had been a while since I was measured. I made an appointment two weeks out because of COVID which was fine for me, I felt good about going into a store that follows guidelines during a pandemic. But if you want to make a visit, right now they are appointment only and they are busy so plan ahead like I did! :) I brought my toddler there and it was right around his naptime so he went into full-on tantrum mode when I wouldn't let him touch anything in the store. The staff was very kind and understanding which I appreciated so much! I got two bras here, fitting was very accurate and they even keep a profile in their system for you so if you want to shop in the future it's easy. I will definitely be back in the future for my needs! They have nursing bras and swimwear too which is awesome! I was super comfortable and so happy I came here for my bridal bra. I have searched high and low on the internet and locally for a store that I would be able to find a bra in. I am both tall and very large breasted. After trying looking on line and trying Catherine's and Lane Bryant I was told about Judy's Intimate Apparel. So I went in with no appointment ( I didn't know you needed one). I just wanted to see if they had anything even remotely close to what I thought my size was, I had previously been sized at a 48H. The ladies in the store were super polite and offered to size me with no appointment. Turned out to be a good thing, as I was not a 48H but a 46L. The woman who helped me spent time with me, getting a variety of bra's in different styles, sizes, bands and cups to see what fits best as well as what I liked best. It was amazing!! The first bra to actually fit me correctly since I was 20 years old!! I have been telling all my friends about them since!! I even went back a week later for another bra I liked the first one so much!! If you are large breasted and are looking for something pretty to support the twins, go to Judy's, you will be glad you did!! read more

I would never recommend this business. There is a ZERO return/refund policy which they do not feel the need to mention while you are in shopping. The bra I purchased itched some while I was in the store. I had one associate tell me that it was probably starch and would wash out. Another said that it might be the material. I went home and tried it on the next day after showering and my skin turned bright red. I immediately went to return it--tags still on within 24 hours. I was told I should have known better and that there was a no refund whatsoever policy. The sales associate would not document my attempted return of the merchandise nor would contact the manager for me. Customer service after the sale is non-existent. Do not make my same mistake by listening to the sales people here. I am out $120 with no bra to wear. read more

After seeing a friend use a Maya sling, I decided I might want to switch from the Moby that I used with my first to a ring sling. I did some research and decided Maya was a good fit. I went to the only retailer in my area- Judy's intimate apparel- to purchase one in the right size, as I am six feet tall. When I walked in with my newborn, the sales associate immediately stated my baby was too young for a sling. When I explained that he met the weight requirement, she said I needed to better educate myself on the product (which I have been reading about for weeks). Then I asked to be sized. I was repeatedly told that it was "against the law" for them to show me how to use the sling. I asked if they had a user guide or something so that I could make sure I was using it right. They then said they couldn't touch my baby, which I wasn't asking them to do, I just want them to show me how to use it. They then put the wrap on me inside out, which I knew was wrong. I asked if I could buy the product and return it, but they did not know the store policy and said they were pretty sure I could not return it. When I asked how I was supposed to buy a product that I couldn't try on there properly or return, they reminded me it was against the law for them to teach me how to use the product. I said I would go to another store (although there isn't one in my town) they again told me that anyone helping me with the wrap would be breaking the law. As a forensic psychologist with a PhD, I'm relatively certain there is no legislation about teaching someone how to use a ring sling. Terrible service. read more

**Review for the Olympia/Lacey store I was struggling to find Maternity bras in my current larger (and somewhat rare) size, 32 I. I was referred to Judy's by Around the Circle Midwifery and I am THRILLED to know of them now! They carry a large selection of bras in a wide range of sizes. You can make an appointment for a fitting (a nice woman will measure you, in the dressing room, with your clothes on or in your bra. My dress was thin enough that I didn't need to remove anything. The measuring is fast and painless, anyway.) She brought me several choices in my size. I found the size and brands that seemed to work best for me. I got 2 bras for $108 (including tax. Online I was seeing bras for $70+ each.) The gals were helpful, informative, and pleasant to interact with. They also carry Breast pumps, breast pump accessories, as well as Baby Legs, and other maternity/baby related products. (Oh, I noticed they have swimsuits in all different sizes and styles. I will definitely be buying my suit from Judy's this coming summer.) The result is FABULOUS. My girls are supported! My profile looks 10 times better and my breasts don't ache at the end of the day. My back, shoulders, and chest feel so much better. I wish I'd found Judy's a few months ago when I thought the level of breast pain I was experiencing was just a part of pregnancy. *They also carry bras/supplies for women who have undergone a mastectomy and I overheard that some products are covered by insurance. read more

I have been here twice needing mastectomy forms and bras. First time right after surgery in 2009 and again just now. First visit I did not make a purchase as I was not happy with what they had to offer and really didn't know yet how stuff should fit. I did make purchases this time however the form had to be ordered and they only had one of the bras I decided on. I came back purely out of need and convenience. This is the closest retailer available to me for mastectomy supplies, about a 40 minute drive one way and a bridge toll. I have been to Nordstrom which I will never go back to, they don't have the expertise or supply, it's just another finger in the money making pie for them. Been to Mary Catherine's in Seattle which is ok. If you're coming to Judy's for mastectomy products make SURE you know what your insurance will or won't cover before you go, and you have to be your own advocate when it comes to trying products. In my "fitting" I was offered exactly one bra and one form. The bra fit ok, I had to ask if there were any others to try. The form had to be ordered in the correct size, but then on my way home I'm thinking - huh, she only tried one form. My fault I guess for not asking to try another as they do not all fit the same. KNOW your insurance and do not let them tell you what's covered. Got "we know cause we have to deal with this all the time" and "been doing this for 20 years". That may be but I was given incorrect information at the store (I was pretty sure of my coverage but doubted myself because they do deal with insurances), and even though they do deal with all sorts of insurances the coverage is not all the same and insurance is not their primary business. After all the phone calls and figuring of what they thought insurance will cover I do believe I was overcharged for my portion, but they should refund me. Agree with other comments about their return policy, they really don't have one. It is posted, at least by their cash register. All in all I'm happy with what I got. Will I go back? Probably just because there is nowhere closer. 1-14-16 I will have to re-think going here again. When I left on 12-31-15 the woman I talked with assured me they would have my insurance information, and have the two bras they ordered ready, and I asked if they could mail them. Just called to see if I can pick them up tomorrow as I will be in Tacoma, they haven't even talked with the insurance!! So they'll need to do that first, could be a delay if they have to get a referral because this is the first time for me using this insurance, and they have to find out how to bill it!! Good Lord! Thank God I had already talked with insurance so I know how this will work, and no referral needed. Now will have to call again in the morning to see if they've gotten the information. Feeling like I may as well just get them since I will have to pay for them upfront anyway and just file the claim myself! Never had problems in past with Judy's Intimate Apparel. I have been a customer 30 years or so. Recent employees do not seem to want to make customer happy. The product they carry is normally perfect. I received an ill made bra. The exchange was not to my liking and that is what the disagreement is about. I was recommended by a sales woman in VS to go to Judy's to find bras with small band widths and large cup sizes, that there is hope.... and I was not disappointed at all! Though Judy's is small, it is -packed- with various bras from 28H to 40DD+, intimates, casuals, sports, swim, you name it. Jessika, the fitter there, said she would be more than happy to fit me even though I did not have an appointment (I don' t think you need to make one, but best to do so so you find one that fits you perfectly!). She was very laid back, pleasant, and did not make the fitting awkward--especially since it was my first time there and a LONG time since I was last fitted. I let her know what it was that I was looking for and she went and found several different styles both casual and sports, and just about all fit perfectly. The styles were cute and something I personally would feel confident in. I ended up purchasing 5 of the bras that she fitted me for, and all for reasonable/affordable price especially for bras that are RARELY found anywhere else, 28H's G's etc. Jessika was quick and provided quality service, I was probably in there for 20m. Maybe even less. It was a great experience, and I definitely recommend to others. She even helped me jump my car after I found it to be dead right after purchasing the bras. The ladies there are fantastic, and the service is great! They really care about finding what you want and show it! Thank you, ladies, for sharing your reviews regarding Judy's Intimate Apparel. I, too, will not be shopping at that store. I've written two letters to the owner, Judy Ritchie, who I understand has retired. Although it's been a month, she has not responded. Because I've lost so much weight, I needed to buy a smaller prosthesis. I was not allowed to touch the two prosthesis's that I thought might work nor was I allowed to try them on. I requested that they return my prescription. They asked me for unrelated information such as (1) the details of my surgery in 2000, (2) a note from my doctor stating my present weight, (3) a note from my chiropractor stating that my prosthesis was causing backaches, and (4) verification as to when I purchased my last prosthesis. The form they asked me to complete requested my driver's license and my preference of how they could send me information about new products. I didn't mark those options because I wasn't interested in receiving updated information. They became annoyed because I didn't complete the form to their liking. Bottom line: They have not yet returned my prescription. During the past 13 years, I have purchased my prosthesis in California, Nevada, and Utah. Judy's Intimate Apparel is the first store that has treated me like a second-class citizen. read more
