If you google nail salons near Alhambra, a constellation of spots crop up near the downtown area. There are some that are within two storefronts of each other. I'm astonished that they're all remarkably still in business, but I suppose some customers have their spots. Or maybe some folks get their nails done every week? Who knows. As for Judy's Nails, I have to say it is a salon with no peers. Pardon the facetiousness, but I am not exaggerating. Despite its modest interior and strategically positioned fans during the summertime, I will go here to get my usual mani pedi over the ritziest massage chairs and spa grade foot tubs. What puts them over the rest is the quality and prices. They're cash only so that allows them the competitive prices. They also take Zelle so you don't have to fumble in your wallet post manicure for cash. I usually get polishes with fun colors so I don't bother with gel, so I can take it off within a few weeks or so. Every single tech there (Tina and April come to mind but there's also two more whose names escape me at the moment) can polish my fingernails and toe nails and dry them in 45 min flat, with nary any texture on the nail surface. They also can do the artificial nail, tips, gel, and powder and other aesthetician services I haven't tried. On top of the great work, it's served with a smile. It's like going to a family party. You lowkey get a mini therapy sesh while they massage your feet, hands, and forearms. What really touches me is that they don't push extra services on you. The customer service is the real icing on the cake. As I write this review I'm already planning to go back, so word of warning to call for an appointment as they can take only walk ins if you time it right. It's very welcoming homey feeling here, the workers are very sweet and care about the work that they are doing on you. Worst experience ever, was there for 3 hours. Judy left my feet in cold water for 30 min while doing my hand nails. Feet felt numb and cold and had an attitude when I told her how I felt. Nails came out terrible and was hurting me on purpose when I told her they did not come out as I wanted them. She had a terrible attitude! Please don't come here! I came to this shop for the first time this evening. The ladies at this shop are friendly and nice. There were three ladies there working. It is not a fancy nail place where there is massage chairs but it gets the job done and they do a great job. Diane did both my gel manicure and French tip regular nail polish pedicure. This is a no-frills nail salon, so if you set your expectations accordingly, you'll be able to appreciate the skill that these ladies have! I called for a same-day pedicure appointment and they were able to squeeze me in. There was a little bit of a wait after I got there but it was nothing crazy, 15 minutes top, which I didn't mind. Beware that this place DOES NOT honor appointments. I called at 11 am to ask when I could come in I was told to come in at 4 pm. I showed up at 4 pm and they had me waiting for 35 minutes with no acknowledgment. I finally spoke up at 4:35 pm and the woman said she wasn't sure who would be available and wasn't sure when I initially called. She asked me to wait for 20 extra minutes. Mind you - a woman and a man came in and another tech who had just finished with her client started prepping a station for them. Do not waste your time at this location. I randomly stumbled upon this nail salon and was not disappointed. Their prices are extremely fair, $25 for a regular mani/pedi. They had a ton of colors to select from. I was looking for something very specific and one of the girls brought out every color that fell into that description. What great service! The lady listened to me when I said I didn't want my cuticles cut, only pushed back. Most other places try to convince me that I don't know any better and continue cutting my cuticles. I went to this place for a year and always did acrylics. when I switched to gel-x the first time, one lady did a great job and I couldn't take them off if I tried. the second time, 5/10 fell off in the first week! I live 40 min away If there's traffic, so it's a trek to get up there. at first, 3 fell off and I had it fixed Nov. 7th and the original lady was busy, so I had a different lady do it and she tried to charge me for it. I was already surprised by this. the next day, another fell off, and the day after, another one. I texted her the photos and she said to come in. Girlfriend and I came in for a mani/pedi each. Immediately upon walking in, you see that this place needs several upgrades. For one, how about some nail salon chairs?! No no, you will sit in decades old office chairs I can only assume were bought at a yard sale decades ago as the friendly staff bring you your very own foot bath. Never judge a book by its cover!
