We always ask for hollandaise on the side because that sauce can go several different ways of bad, but in this instance we were genuinely confused how a benedict could come with anything other than poached eggs! The flavor was okay, but the texture and presentation left a lot to be desired. My wife only finished half of hers and didn't touch the limp fries. You can probably figure out how I made do with food in this instance. Our kids, meanwhile, devoured their food like we had starved them their whole lives, so on the plus side we didn't have to hear kids whining about food! Service was polite but very slow. The service here is always good and they use large mason jars for drinks so no chance my drinks ever run dry. The place has dark rich wood fixtures like a proper pub should. Incredibly disappointed. The flavor was nice but I couldn't get past the collagen. Then there was my wife's dish, the Amatriciana pasta. The pasta was waaayyy undercooked and swimming in oil. There was a pool of olive oil at the bottom of that bowl. I told my wife to dip her plain pizza dough in there. The sauce was supposed to have a little spice from the menu description but all we tasted was olive oil and literally no other flavor. My wife ate none of it and was so disappointed. There were many awards in the restaurant and maybe we just don't know if this is what authentic Italian food is supposed to taste like, but this place wasn't for us. We eat out a lot.
