Açaí Fruit Bowl

Delicious, good portion, and very welcoming staff. 10/10 post hike grub. Will return!

A personal favorite on the weekly for a satisfying avocado toast, spinach wrap, Hanna Banana or Chocolate Date smoothie in-between the work hours at home. Always consistent, always great and my go-to for a nice pick me up without the guilt. The peanut butter protein treats are also a nice energy boost too! Thanks for always delivering such goodness!

Visited today to pick up a tuna melt as well as an everything avocado open faced sandwich, mango mania smoothie with collagen peptides and a clean green juice. The people who greeted us were very friendly and welcoming. The place is cozy and inviting. Also ordered pupcakes for my doggies. I appreciate they have eco-friendly packaging. Everything was delicious and healthy. We all enjoyed our treats. We will definitely be coming back.

Found this spot looking for a smoothie on the way to my destination. I really enjoyed everything I tried & wish a location was closer to where I live. I will be back anytime I pass through the area.

Juice girl is our first stop any time we take a long bike ride from SF! It's the perfect place to refuel, with incredibly healthy treats and meals. I dream of the peanut butter cookies and I've tried to recreate them many times. No luck. You just feel lighter and happier when you come in here!

Was looking for some local breakfast to start off a weekend trip and stumbled upon high ratings for Juice Girl, so we gave it a try! We ordered via phone and came to pick up in the brightly lit, casual-comfy store. Acai bowls were good with generous portions and loaded with healthy ingredients and flavors. We tried one original Fruit Bowl which was definitely sweeter, complemented by banana and honey, and the Green Bowl which definitely felt more "health-food-y" with kale in the base and things such as flax seeds, goji berries, and raw almonds on top. It was interesting that they were served in compostable cardboard-y bowls, which was eco friendly but left me wondering if the bowls would get soggy. Thankfully they didn't when we ate them soon after purchase! The one experience that wasn't so pleasant was being a little surprised at the price of the bowls. The prices displayed on the signage ($10 for the Fruit bowl and $11 for the Green Bowl) were not the prices we were charged by the employee working the cashier ($11 for the Fruit Bowl and $12.50 for the Green Bowl). When asked, he said that they'd forgotten to update the signage. I don't mind paying for purchases, especially as the prices still felt quite reasonable, but would prefer that prices are clearly and consistently marked so the customer feels like things are fairly done. It really should only take a minute or two to tape updated prices up.

Perfect spot to grab a smoothie or something to eat after hiking around Marin, Muir Woods, Bolinas area. Located in the same shopping plaza as Safeway. They have freshly squeezed juices, smoothies, avocado toast, salads, soups, and sandwiches. Service is great, the staff are so friendly, parking is super easy and theres spots to sit inside. They also have coffee here too! I will def come here post hike or even to grab something to bring on your hike!

This is one of those places that just kind of feels like home…read more I've been stopping by this market for as long as I've been hiking in the Golden Gate Area, which is over a decade. Some of Good Earth's items are on the super pricy side, but some are also reasonable. The deli and bakery items are usually pretty good. This was the first place I ever found Sjaak's chocolate. Sadly, they no longer exist, but I used to always stop by for their Hearts of Cherry after hiking around Mt Tam. Today I stopped by for whatever looked good enough to buy, which happened to be a pesto chicken calzone from the hot deli case, a slice of chocolate cake that looked too good to be $5, some roma tomatoes, and a blueberry banana water. The pesto chicken calzone had decent flavor, but it literally had like half a cup of grilled onions on it. Like, there was an entire opaque layer of grilled onion. Adding onions to compensate for less meat is one of the oldest Italian tricks in the book, and is the basis of many great recipes. In this case, it was a little much. Also, the crust didn't have any flavor, but for $10, for this area, it wasn't bad. The chocolate cake was the worst chocolate cake I've ever had in my life. It should have been labeled "iced biscotti," because that's about how dry it was. After a few bites, I had to double check to make sure I didn't accidentally grab an expired piece. It was so dry!! Okay, so, the cake was a mistake, but everything else was good. Their fresh deli pizzas looked AMAZING, but I did not take one home. Overall, the store is very clean, well lit, and merchandised nicely. My only issue is the twinkie sized stall in the ladies room, with a door that opens inward, trapping anyone who is greater than four inches in diameter between the toilet and the door. Sometimes you seriously have to wonder what kind of psychopath designed women's public restrooms. It's like, if you are larger than an actual Barbie doll, good luck getting in and out without touching the public toilet! So, I actually made two separate purchases. First, I purchased the calzone, and took it back to my car to eat. Noticing that I was surrounded by Teslas and eating disorders, I put up my sunshades so that I could eat in peace, without becoming a TikTok reel. After I finished eating, as I was lowering my sunshade, I caught the man parked next to me in the act of taking a video of me, anyway! My car is ugly enough to make a classist person assume that I'm a homeless person, which I'm sure is what happened in this case. Maybe he was planning to post it on social media as an example of how homeless people were ruining his life. When he saw a nicely dressed woman in a brand new, pretty dress (me) he looked shocked. I looked back and forth between him and his phone which was pointed at me, and glared. He lowered the phone and stared at me, wide eyed and jaw dropped, as if he wanted to explain. I glared at him as hard as I could. Classist rich people harass me like this all the time. As a formerly homeless person, I know that in reality, there's no such thing as "looking homeless." People who "look homeless" are usually housed and struggling with mental health issues, while homeless people who live in shelters are usually very well-groomed. But tell that to the classist rich person who thinks it's funny to take videos of other people and post them on the internet to mock them. I wish it was illegal to do that, but it's not. So if I'm posted on "homeless people of Marin" or something, that's what's up, even though I'm very much housed and employed. A calzone with a side of classism. Not the store's fault. But irritating none the less.

I was first introduced to Palmetto at a Yelp event and, since then, have become a repeat customer at numerous locations. Their Corte Madera location is lovely! The shop itself is on the smaller side, with one bench to sit at inside, but that's all good since it's more of a takeout business. It's bright inside, and the atmosphere is welcoming. You order at the counter, watch them make your creation, and pick it up when it's done! They also offer mobile ordering. Service is always fantastic from everyone I've encountered! Since I work in Marin and got my coworker hooked, we sometimes stop by for açaí before or after work. There are so many options for either signature or build-your-own bowls! I've been trying each signature bowl. This go around, I tried their Bom Dia A.M Breakfast Bowl in a size small. This was so delicious! I loved the fresh fruit, the texture of all the toppings, how rich and creamy it was, and the sweet yet refreshing taste. The smalls are always so filling for me, so I struggle to finish. Definitely keep that in mind! If I go any larger, I'm usually sharing with someone! I'd definitely order this again, but I have also loved everything I've tried. So happy that Palmetto is continuing to branch out and is successful in Marin. Glad to continue supporting them, especially since they're on my commute route! Find them on the Town Center side near Pacific Catch and across Five Little Monkeys. Free parking all around!

Banh mi Ba was closed today because they aren't open on Tuesday so I decided to get a sandwich from the Good Earth deli. It was meant to be a tofu banh mi -- It was on sourdough baguette with a pair of massive slabs of baked tofu. I give them credit for the delicious Japanese style pickle, but there simply wasn't enough of it and the scanty slices of daikon were OK, but ultimately this was better as a salad without the bread and added vinaigrette myself. Those chunks of tofu were undeniably tofu, but it was just not a great sandwich experience. The funny thing is, I had asked a couple of men dining outside the grocery store. If there was anything they recommended at the deli. They both told me what they had ordered and suggested requesting extra barbecue sauce for the brisket because it's quite dry. I was not expecting my tofu sandwich to be so dry but also soggy. I'll stick with Banh mi Ba for my banh mi -- and try other things at good earth going forward. Also, I just want to note that last November on the Saturday after Thanksgiving, my tire was vandalized by somebody who stuck a knife into it twice in on purpose purposes of the sidewall. They do not have cameras on the parking lot and even Fairfax police said "oh well we can't take reports for things that happened on private property" which honestly makes me wonder what they do when somebody breaks into a house or does something on "private" property. Does that mean laws are not enforced on private property in Fairfax? Stay tuned.
