When we entered an hour before closing, we made the mistake to sit and pause to look over the menu. It was a mistake because it seemed like the front door kept swinging open as wave after wave of hungry visitors poured in. My guess is these folks were all returning from Joshua Tree National Park. In fact, it felt like nearly everyone there had just come from the park. The business concept appears thoughtfully geared toward travelers, particularly those with a bit of disposable income and a discerning palate. The notice shall be sent via first-class mail, via email from an email address on file with the health studio, or DELIVERED IN PERSON TO (Name of health studio operator) at (Address and email address of health studio operator)." I have sustained a massive injury. I have constant pain and a spinal fluid leak and can no longer do any kind of physical activity. I have been trying to cancel since the end of March. The gym manager demanded I come in person, or mail a letter along with my medical documents as proof in order to receive a refund or to process my cancellation. I have tried informing them over the phone that what they are doing is illegal. I do not have the ability to come in person or go to the post office. They should have accepted the hand delivered letter my father tried to deliver. They don't care. They refuse to process my cancellation continuously. There are multiple accounts of them doing this to other customers online. This can't continue.

Pioneer Crossing Antiques is also nearby and was sadly closed this Wednesday, but I normally stop in whenever it's open. The proprietors are awesome and I always find something unique to take home. Food-wise, the lox bagel was a standout. Great ratio of cream cheese, capers, dill, thin-shaved red onion, plus a little side salad of arugula and radish that actually tasted fresh instead of feeling like decoration. The yogurt parfait was small but mighty, layered with berries and granola and substantial enough to feel like breakfast. Easy seating, dog friendly, and plenty of sandwiches and salads if you're not in a bagel mood. Tasty, fresh, quick, and just enough "we did something" energy before heading back to the Airbnb to relax and beat the heat.
