The Juice Shop has been a staple ever since I came to UNCG in 1998, they opened in 1997! My favorite is the citrus twist which is banana, strawberry, pineapple and orange sherbet. The prices have gone up through the years but it's worth it. The service is always fast and friendly. It's typically high school students and there are scholarships awarded each year to the employees I think. The ambiance is just a table with straws and blank walls other than the menu and scholarship recipients. read more

I love that all they make are smoothies. So clearly, they are good at it. There are 10 or so flavors and one size (there may be a child size too, but I am unsure). The smoothies are a good size and the cup is always filled up. They don't taste "fake" and aren't too sweet. I've been here several times and I'll keep going! read more

I think I had been here many years ago and I don't remember what I had. Today and I was next door to Mr. Tire getting my oil changed, I figured I'd pop in. I tried the Raspberry Rush with raspberries, banana, raspberry juice, frozen yogurt and ice. I must say this was very satisfying and blended perfectly. I really wanted a smoothie for lunch so I stopped in here while at Friendly Center. I ordered the citrus twist add peaches. It has some orange sherbet but didn't taste like there was a lot which I actually like, because it didn't taste super sweet. I'll have to go to my other favorite place and see which I like better. As for CDC guidelines, they are taking precautions and the space allows for distancing while waiting for your order. They have outdoor seating as well. read more

This place is as bare as it comes when it comes to decor. Nothing but a counter, a couple of tall tables and high chairs, and an island in the middle of the small space with napkins. Despite this they make some pretty good smoothies and the staff here are pretty friendly. Another lovely thing about this place is that they give scholarships to local high school students. There are photos of the recipients on the wall to the left as soon as you enter. The 24oz smoothies are a flat price (about $6) and they have a smoothie of the week for $5. I usually get either Berry Delight or Cranberry Crush, because I hate bananas. I actually never ordered anything different and see if they would hold the banana, so unsure if that's an option. The last time I was here, I got Cranberry Crush. I was in such a rush, I didn't sample it until I back in my car, sitting at a light. It taste like Berry Delight and bananas. I guess they did not rinse, wash, or clean the blender (or whatever is used) before they made my smoothie. I ended up giving it to my niece, because the banana annoyed me. This one instance doesn't deter me from continuing to being a patron or altering my rating. read more

This is a very very simple place. Eight options for smoothies. All fruit, no more savory options, such as chocolate or peanut butter. Be aware, if you are going for non-dairy, they'll just omit the milk or yogurt in your smoothie and add more fruit. Maybe that would have made my smoothie better. 1. The smoothies are great and made super quickly. 2. The employees are great too. I watched a woman get upset and argue about them not taking bills over $20 and they kept their cool. They tried to explain the policy and show where it was posted but the customer wasn't hearing it. They tried to give the manager's number even though the customer demanded the corporate number and tried to make it seem like they were refusing to give it. Duh there isn't a corporate number, it's a tiny local operation and obviously they don't have change for large bills. These teens handled the situation well and figured out how to take orders around the customer blocking the register. Go give them your business and use your manners. read more

First off the word juice in the name is misleading as the only form of juice in the place is apple juice used in some of the smoothies. I ordered what the store clerk considered as one of the more tart smoothies. It was so sweet I couldn't drink more than a few sips. In no way did it taste like the fresh fruit smoothies that I'm accustom to they are actually blended from some pre-processed fruit syrup. It tasted more like a sweet-tart blended up with ice. I can't imagine how much sugar goes into these things. Also there were no veggie options to add.. If you want a fruity alternative to a milkshake this is great but if you want to have a minutely healthy beverage experience go somewhere else. On a good note the service was nice. read more

The Juice Shop is a delight. Whenever I make the trek to Gvegas I always drop in here (MAKE SURE YOU HAVE CASH!) and grab a smoothie for lunch or a snack. They're quite filling, made with sherbet or yogurt, frozen fruits, fresh bananas, and fruit juice. You can add stuff like bee pollen, protein, and vitamins, too. Every single time I have a battle with myself about if I want the raspberry rush or cranberry crush or maybe the arctic orange. (It is a struggle, but I persevere.) I read that the smoothies have less than 2 grams of fat and provide 2-3 servings of fruit with calories ranging 375- 425 (thanks, squidoo.) The icing on the cake (or strawberries in the froyo) is that they're local. Any place that supports their past employees with their senior high school photos on the wall, and brags about them going off to college is super fine with me. I am SO disappointed in the one at Friendly. I asked for a Strawberry Splash with less yogurt. I had my parents and little brother go for me and bring it home since we all didn't have much time to be out. They picked it up and it didn't seem right. They sent my brother back in and the workers blew him off because he was just a kid and sent him back out. We trusted them to be able to make the smoothie as it should be, especially since it is $6 for a one time treat! It's not exactly cheap. When I got it, we all clearly saw that it was NOT the right smoothie. It WAS NOT red, and there WAS NO strawberry flavor!! THEY FORGOT THE STRAWBERRIES!! I just went ahead and drank it because I didn't want to waste the food that went into it. I am completely dissatisfied at the customer service and the product in general. So infuriating and beyond unprofessional. Incredible how workers can be so careless and rude. read more

Nothing fancy, just smoothies! Not a huge smoothie fan in general but this place may have changed my mind a bit. I enjoyed the quava gulp with protein added in on my 1st visit, it's very flavorful, just sweet enough, and has significant pineapple/tropical flavors with banana in the background. Every now and again you may get some small chucks of frozen fruit-not in a bad way. Today I had the citrus twist, it's flavorful too but the banana is way more pronounced and the main flavor is orange so if orange-banana is ur fave-go for it, otherwise go for something other than citrus twist imo. I do love the free add-ins and smoothie of the week discounts. A lot of ppl talk about the "bare bones" look of the place....who cares if it keeps overhead down and smoothies cheap, I'm with it! Sweet, refreshing, healthy, relatively inexpensive given how much smoothie you get (a comparable smoothie at Jamba Juice will cost you $8 or more)...how can you go wrong? And yes, it's cash only. Don't take credit cards - in a high-income area selling fruit drinks to a health-conscious demographic. Had an opportunity to convert an impulse buy into a regular customer and threw it away because management can't be bothered to go *literally across the street* to the Apple Store and grab a free Square reader to accept plastic. Terrible. Also the interior looks like they either opened before they finished renovation or they're about to go out of business. Easy problems to fix. read more
