Parking is limited, so I usually order online and select curbside pickup. The staff is always friendly, and this cozy little spot on Waialae Avenue has a welcoming neighborhood feel that is so Kaimuki. The Banh Mi Style Lemongrass Tofu Burger is absolutely incredible and easily my favorite item on their menu. Everything in this "burger" is there for a reason. Perfectly balanced. Always freshly made. The warm crispy panko coated katsu on the tofu pairs perfectly with the pickled veggies and the soft bun ties it all together. Textural Heaven. The Korean Hirata Buns are massive! The texture on the tofu is better than real chicken. The Korean flavors on the chick'n, house made pickles and the kimchi aioli make this another flavor masterpiece. The house made buns are fresh and the perfect vehicle for everything going on with the flavors. Very filling! I have driven past Juicy Brew on Waialae Avenue so many times, but today - it finally clicked - that this was not a coffee shop or a juice place. I found free street parking on 8th Avenue and walked into the cozy, colorful, clean shop. It was a bit busy with several customers ahead of me, but the line moved quickly. I can't believe I drive past this spot every day and have not realized until now that it's literally my dream lunch cafe. I love vegan cafes (not vegan just love lots of veggies!). I ordered the tofu poke soba noodles and oh my goodness, it was perfection. I'm also allergic to peanuts and I didn't have to worry about any peanuts in any of my food! The tofu was seasoned perfectly, I really loved the generous amount of onions in the tofu poke, as well. The dressing was delicious and every single ingredient in my plate was delicious and left me feeling healthy and satisfied. I purposefully snagged one of the easy street parking spots out front so that I could run in and check out their baked goods selection. I ordered a blueberry scone which was very yummy! The cookies look incredible and I'd love to try one next time. Their menu is a good size so I'd really love to try more options, as well. Overall had a good experience here. The name is a bit confusing since sounds like a coffee or drink shop. Seems like the food brings in the crowd. Parking is really hard here as it's only residential street parking, you may have to walk for a bit. Ordered in person, they have an iPad to show you pictures of the food and drinks and desserts too, but a person will actually place the order for you (unless you do it online). Waited around quite a bit, not sure what took so long, we did order a lot and a bit of variety so maybe kitchen took more time. Also seemed like there were online orders along with walk in orders too. We had our kids and normally that doesn't bode well (waiting) but they had a little corner for drawing with pencils and markers so that ate up a bit of the waiting. The place itself isn't big but for around lunch time, seemed like most do takeout orders. Give them a try if you're in the area, especially for the vegetarian and vegan plant based people. read more

There are 2 parking stalls right in front or street parking on the side streets. Located right on Waialae Ave next Ace Hardware. I appreciate a place that changes its menu based on seasonal ingredients and their patrons opinions. It's cozy with 2 -(4) seat tables and 4 more bar stools You can't go wrong with the hirata buns. Flavors of this changes currently they have lemon yuzu or Korean. The faux chicken is crispy and perfectly paired with the refreshing veggies and soft bao bun- color of bun signifies what it's made with. I like to grab the tofu poke to go. These items are always on the menu. A special I enjoyed was their sopa that is topped with house made picked onions that I can't get enough of. EDIT: I ended up getting really awful 24 hour long food poisoning from eating here, and I called the restaurant to let them know. However, I wasn't offered a refund and only received a verbal apology. The food itself, service, and the inside seating are fantastic, and I was really excited to try this place as it's been on my list for a while and looks delicious. However, I'm not sure if I got a bad batch, but the soba noodle salad with tofu poke really upset my stomach just an hour after eating, and it has still been in pain a few hours later. While on a run it started to rain so I stopped. While waiting for the rain to let up I realized how hungry I was. Since I was right there, I decided to go get some breakfast at Juicy Brew. I asked the girl at the counter for suggestions and she said the breakfast frittata sammie would be great! So I ordered one! And since I had to walk/run the rest of the way home now with a sandwich in tow, I asked if it could be wrapped in a way it wouldn't get too messed up. And it was wrapped beautifully! It was a run more than walking since it started raining again. The Sammie was in perfect condition when I finally got home! I cut it in half since it was such a large sandwich! The frittata/cheez combo with the flavors of caramelized onions and roasted veggies were just perfect! And the brioche bun was oh so soft and fluffy! I'm so happy it made it home safely! But I like the crunchy-ness and meat together. There's like pickled veggies. Wabi sabi moco $17 - the patty was made with beet. Texture similar to meat. I liked it. The gravy was just a little bit salty. Other than that, the plate was yummy! Lemon yuzu poppy chick'n hirata buns $16 - reminds me of lemon chicken. Sweet and sour. Juicy Brew is located on Waialae Ave and they sell everything vegan when it comes to sandwiches, burgers, buns, bentos, etc. Their menu have different selections of vegan meals that are both colorful and filling. I ordered their Orange "Chick'n" Hirata Buns which comes with two buns of orange "chick'n", purple cabbage, kyurizuke, Ahiki Acres bacchus radish, radish sprouts, kimchi aioli, ao nori and bubu arare furikake, on the house bao (as described on their menu). The two buns were $15, but they were huge! Both filled up the large plate lunch take-out container. The fillings in the buns were very generous. The size of the bun was bigger than my hand. I had to eat this with a fork instead of my hands because it gets very messy. The flavor of the "chick'n" was crispy and sweet. I would not have known that this was vegan. The sauces and vegetables helps with the balance and the flavor of the buns. Overall, an interesting experience. I do prefer meat, but this place serves tasty and colorful vegan dishes. I thought $15 was quite pricey for two baos but they ended up filling the entire takeout container. The house made steamed buns were thick and pillowy, not soggy at all. All of the Asian flavors and textures were perfect from crunchy purple cabbage to pickled cucumbers. But the star was the the chick'n, which was texturally very similar to the original meat.
