Quality, hearty reasonably priced food and a good variety of options to choose from, including lunch dishes served from 11am. What was most special and unforgettable about the experience was the hospitable, quick, and attentive service. We notified the staff that our table included a baby, and they accommodated us with a high chair, sippy cup, and toys to keep the baby busy. Staff were also friendly, always checking on us, and our coffee cups kept full. Parking available in a small lot in front or nearby on the street. We decided to visit Sweet E's Cafe on a morning where our power went out due to the storm and it was wet and rainy. Looking for a hearty breakfast meal and hopefully not too many other people out and about we decided to try our luck with Sweet E's Cafe. Well we somehow got lucky with a parking spot out front and an ope table outside. Not realizing how windy and bit chilly it was, our kids were not prepared for that and thankfully our server found us a table inside. They brought small toys for the kids to play with while we ate. I got the spinach and feta omelette with hash browns. The kids got bagel sandwiches which now looking back they could have split. I was quite surprised at how well seasoned and cooked the hash browns were. I think that was my favorite part. I think they omelette could have done with a little more salt or feta, but those hash browns made up for it. The side is very cozy with many pictures hanging on the walls. The place was bustling for most of our time there. Parking is very limited in the lot out front. There is street parking but we couldn't find anything within a decent walking distance. The sandwiches I tried were excellent. I tried both the BLT and the pesto club (cause I convinced husband to split halfsies with me). Both were fantastic, although I think maybe I liked the pesto club slightly more, just because it had both bacon and pesto. The pesto club had a good amount of pesto, crispy bacon, soft turkey meat, and was served on a ciabatta-type roll. The BLT is on a more traditional toast, toasted well but not too much, and with an aioli spread that's not too garlicky. We chose kettle chips as the side and they tasted fresh and were pleasantly crunchy. Every employee is filling water, pouring coffee, offering takeout cups, cleaning off things you use on the table, and then clearing your table while you're sitting there relaxing at the end of your meal. I enjoyed the cream cheese aspect, but it did make the overall meal taste a bit heavy. The server was nice and provided us with suggestions on what to do on the island. Simply drop off someone to get on the list and look for parking. FYI, they won't let you wait inside the restaurant. There is a small shade spot but if it's taken, you're roasting so bring a hat. Inside is nice and cold! We were here for the breakfast menu. They gave the kiddos a plastic cup of toys which was pretty cool to keep them occupied. The staff here are all super friendly, they checked up on us multiple times and brought out extra plates and salsa containers when they saw my husband and I were sharing the burrito. The food is all so good, everything we've tried here has been great. Today we got the breakfast burrito with corn beef which was super stuffed with crispy hash browns, lots of cheese, and tons of meat. We also created our own omelette with portuguese sausage, kalua pig, onions, and spinach. The create your own omelette comes with 4 toppings and you're allowed to do as many meats as you want which is a great deal. The omelette was super stuffed and easily shareable. It also came with toast and a choice of a starch, we did fried rice which was a small up charge. Prices are so reasonable compared to every other brunch spot. We also love that they're dog friendly, there's a nice covered outdoor seating area if you bring your dog and they even bring out a water bowl. The only downside is that the small parking lot in front fills up really quickly and the street parking around the restaurant is difficult to find, but we normally just park at safeway and walk like 5 minutes. We normally come at breakfast time and need to wait at least 30 minutes since they don't take reservations but today we came around 12:30 on a sunday and it was really empty so definitely try to come later to avoid the crowds! read more
