This place was always on my radar so today for breakfast decided to pick up my sister and brother in law and headed down. They're located on Manoa Rd actually the old Paradise Park location. The food was just ok and service was on par . The downside to this place is their dinning area it's all open and there were lots of Flies flying around . Also you need to order first then they give you a number to place it on your table and they will deliver your order . I enjoy having breakfast here because it's away from the city. Menu seems to be healthy options which I appreciate. Service is great; they always repeat the order making sure that's what we want. Having lunch with my wife and brother-in-law stated on a good note. Found a hadicap stall close to the entrance. The out door ambiance was calming. I'll start off with my meal. Short ribs Loco Moco. This place was on Craig T. Radar when passing by for hes work. So he pick us up and said we go for breakfast. Got prime parking handicapped of course and didn't know we need to order first then grab a table. Lots of people sitting outside some were finishing their breakfast or going start like us. I ordered breakfast bowl fried rice, bacon and scrambled egg with toast so did Craig. My husband had their short rib Loco the egg was cooked perfect and the ribs was tender juicy and the gravy was like a higher class style of gravy demi glaze like. The food was OK. But with the flies and birds flying around outside it wasnt a enjoyable atmosphere. One bird hit gabes head and flew away. Above all, its mission of supporting folks who need it makes this an easy place to support, but the food and service stand on their own. Waioli has been in Manoa for a while. Attended a business event at the Waioli Kitchen and Bakery. For a weekday they were packed. The parking lot was full and the line to order lunch or baked goods was long. They have a great system and took care of everyone. Open since 1922 they've decorated the restaurant with nostalgic memories. Their name in Hawaiian means Joyful Water . I love Waioli Kitchen and Bake Shop! I've been here a couple of times and need to leave my review so I'll remember what I ate (so I can try new things next visit!) This time I had the breakfast bowl with fried rice and scrambled eggs. The bacon was nice and crispy and it was served with toast made of a swirl bread along with a small dish with jelly and butter. My friend had the avocado toast which was a huge serving. Last time I was here I had toast and bacon and eggs and my friend had a salad. This time I also bought a box of pastries to take home to share. The pastries sell out quickly but this trip, there was lots to choose from. I bought chocolate pumpkin bread, a savory scone, coconut bread pudding, a pumpkin muffin with cream cheese in the center, and molasses cookies. All were delicious! It's always crowded so be prepared to wait in line. Also, parking is tight and sometimes you have to wait for someone to leave before you can park. I love the old plantation style building with the airy rooms and surrounding gardens. I always feel like I'm on the outer islands when I eat here or transported back in time. read more

They open @ 8am and when I arrived @ 9am, there was already a long line for ordering. I was glad that they still had breakfast bowl available when it came to my turn. ;) While all the tables might be taken, you should be able to find if you wait for a few minutes. I have been on an açaí bowl kick lately and I think Waioli kitchen has one of the best. You have to go check them out! They serve breakfast and lunch here. My other fav menu item is the pancakes topped with banana and served with a coconut syrup. I also love the Mediterranean salad with chicken, simple but delicious! Friendly Service We tried the Mango & Sunset Lemonade. The Sunset was my favorite drink. The jelly already with the butter was amazing spread over the Sourdough bread. I also had Avocado on toast that was brought as side options and I put them together and pours the jelly on top. The combination together is a must tried and is very tasty. Breakfast bowl gave a good amount of fried rice and plenty egg I noticed but only thing I could say is they could give at least 2 bacons because only one is given. Curry Chicken Salad in a Papaya with a side of toast and jelly was definitely a fave. I recommend to others to try it definitely brings a great savory, not sweet flavor combing together when eaten with the papaya. Waioli Tea Room probably has one the most beautiful settings on the island. Tucked away in the back of Manoa the vibe here is so peaceful. Lots of trees, flowers, and birds. It also rains a lot back here and makes it even more peaceful. I always leave here feeling relaxed and choose it as a meeting spot for friends and visitors. The food menu is limited and that's ok, they focus on simplicity and making the food fresh and good. Their bakery items are so fresh and delicious. It's my favorite place for scones on the island. The ube scone is 10/10 and is the shining bakery item in my opinion. I've tried most menu items here over the years and brought many guests here and everyone is always happy with their food. I usually just get the simple breakfast sandwich croissant and it's consistently good. The workers are always so sweet and if you learn about the history and mission of this place you'll appreciate it even more. It focuses on community empowerment and giving second chances to people by providing them with employment and a place to stay (at least historically I can't confirm if this is still ongoing). Parking can be challenging on busy days but I've always found something if I circle and wait for someone to leave. Be prepared for rain but it makes the ambiance that more peaceful. read more

The food is really yummy and they make bread and scones that are super good. The location is in Manoa owns the setting is beautiful. This place is popular and yummy. The line can get long but don't worry it goes by pretty fast. The bakery items are delicious and a great treat to take home. The avocado toast is good, the first time I went I think I got more goat cheese on it but both times the eggs were perfect. The sourdough bread is freshly baked. Very busy on a Saturday morning at 9am, parking is still difficult to find but managed to snag a sweet spot! Line is absurdly long, takes at least a good 30 minutes whether it's for takeout or dine in (have to order in the line for your food and take a number). Impeccable timing) and 2 scones for myself - savory & blueberry. I completely forgot to sub the loco moco rice for fried rice. Please don't make that mistake. I thought it was okay, not as good as what I remembered from years past. I think they skimped on the meat a little and portion size was not as good as I had before. The avocado toast was much better. Thinly sliced but large sourdough bread smeared with avocado, a little goat cheese, generous helping of arugula, sauce (looks like thousand island dressing but could be some other fancy aioli), and 2 sunny side up eggs. Great portions and flavor. Light enough to not feel bloated or guilty afterwards. The scones were not how like I remembered. A bit too dry and bready? Crumbled way too easily. The savory one was nice. Would possibly get it again. This past week was not my first time to the Waioli Kitchen however, it has probably been a couple years since I have last visited! I love the location, atmosphere and food here. I always feel so relaxed and at peace and I love that the historic charm has been maintained. There are even some small authentic grass homes in the back that you can tour! Their souvenirs are awesome-especially the mugs and the flour sack towels. FOOD: their menu is modest in size but not in flavor/quality! Everything looked delicious and it made my decision hard even though the menu is short-the sign of a great menu. We started with a delicious blueberry scone and the French press coffee, and I ordered the Mediterranean salad for lunch. The scone was awesome, a little sweeter than I prefer but the texture was moist and dense and the cream cheese add inside was perfect. The coffee...oh my gosh it was fantastic. So flavorful and they bring half and half out with the French press which hit the spot. My salad was fantastic, the chicken was so juicy and the avocado was generous and perfectly ripe. I will definitely order this salad again. I was surprised at how much more crowded the restaurant was from the last time I visited but it did not feel uncomfortable. The service was polite and very quick and we didn't have trouble finding seats. The parking was a bit tight but I could have just been the time at which I arrived. Love this breakfast, lunch and bakery spot in Manoa. Whenever we are in the area for a hike it's nice retreat to talk story sitting out on the covered wrap around lanai on this historic building. Love the feeling of the place, with garden surrounding outside of building welcomes you to relax, sip coffee have a baked good or enjoy breakfast or lunch. This is a hidden, but we'll know gem in Honolulu. I know my statement sounds like a contradiction. Prior to today I was oblivious about this place. I had a nice lunch with some of my former student in this special place. Wonderfully placed in a beautiful setting and in existence since 1922. The menu which offers both breakfast and lunch is simple but adequate. Many delicious choices along with homemade baked goods. There goes the keto diet! I had the breakfast bowl while the wifey had the special avocado toast. I washed it down with an Iced Chai. I loved it and plan to return in the near future. This is probably one of the best breakfast experiences you'll have in Hawaii. For starters, the food is excellent. They have a limited menu and selection of pastries but everything looks and smells good. I had the short rib loco moco and it was very tasty, good proportion of short ribs, two eggs, gravy and pickled daikon. I also had the haupia bread pudding and it was one of the best I've had. Not too sweet, very soft and moist and nicely toasted on top. The coffee is good and rather than wait for a server to refill your cup, you just have to go up to the counter. There's never a wait to get your refill and the servers are always so nice. The atmosphere here is great! It truly feels like you're eating in a house from old Hawaii. The fixtures and landscaping make it so relaxing and enjoyable. It's nicely tucked away in Manoa and parking is free. The vibe here is definitely different from a lot of other restaurants. Hidden neighborhood spot loved by locals! I lived up the street from this place for 2 months and never knew it was here but last month my friend took me here and I'm glad I finally learned about this place. We went for breakfast and easily found a table outside on their beautiful porch. We both had the avocado toast with an egg and it was delicious.
