There were two CIGARETTE BUTTS on the floor INSIDE at the waiting area front entrance. Also visited restroom and absolutely atrocious. Our server made our ice cream sundaes himself right at the counter using utensils and his hands without wearing gloves at all (especially now, during COVID). Decor was definitely 50's inspired (not overbearingly so), and the place was very clean. The menu had both traditional American diner fare as well as a Middle Eastern menu. I ordered the falafel pita. It was average; good enough but certainly not one of the best falafel I've had. Most disappointing was how easily it fell apart. The hummus used as a spread on the pita was a nice touch. Fries were nice and crispy. Would have gotten four stars (really 3.5) but both mine and the person with me had to send our food back because our orders were wrong. Found this place while on vacation and wanted a quick, fairly easy stop. Wish we'd kept driving to Fairfax. Son got fish and chips. Fish was clearly of the Costco variety, reheated. I don't know how they justify charging $12.99. He, though a hungry teenage boy, barely touched it. I had the crabcake sandwich, no bun. They put shredded lettuce on it. The only flavor came from the tartar sauce. Daughter got a veggie sandwich which she said was awful. Husband's burgers and other daughter's chicken strips were meh. Keep in mind that my children are not gourmands-- they love this type of food. So if they're not eating it, it's not such a good sign. Service was fine (not crowded) though the guy who served us and a lady who worked there appeared to have a minor verbal spat behind the counter-- couldn't hear what was said, but the tone made me tense up and look. read more

There's a nice sized menu that makes it a bit tricky to figure out what you want since it all sounds good. When the food came out, it was just the type of fatty goodness that we were looking for. If I could rate this place NO STARS I would. I have visited Juke Box plenty of times, but have never had such a horrible experience. So my little sister is in town and we did not want to leave the comfort of my house so we decided to order delivery. The wait time for delivery is normal for a busy Sunday. However, the delivery driver guy was SOOO RUDE. I offered to give him a tip but apparently my tip wasn't enough for him...uh ok then get NO tip. Secondly, our order was WRONG. If you are going to man the phone for delivery orders, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PAY ATTENTION to what the customer orders. One minor problem was my sister asked for sausage and they gave her bacon (No biggie). But when the SAME rude delivery guy came back he had the AUDACITY to ask for the return of bacon...uhmmm WHAT???? We were in the area and decided to check the juke box diner even with the mixed reviews. It'll we got sat quickly and that's where the good part of this review ends. I specified in my order I wanted my eggs cooked all the way thru since I'm pregnant. After we ordered we didn't get our drinks. After waiting I would say maybe 5 mins our waiter came by and said oh! And brought us our drinks. Then when the food came, my eggs had the runny yolk. And my husband said he would tell the guy but I was like forget it. I barely ate any of my food. The waiter never came by to check on us once til we asked for the bill. Then when we were ready to cash out their credit card system went down. GREAT place to go if you're trying to lose weight! Guaranteed hot runs after your meal. I went a couple of years ago and never went back. The table smelled like soggy old rags and the meal was dreadful. Stomachache later led to a necessary trip to bathroom. This weekend, my cousin was visiting from out of town and apparently my relatives took him to Jukebox. When he told me, the look on my face must have been enough, because he confessed: "Yeah, I ended up going to the toilet right after". Constipated? Try Jukebox! This used to be one of the best diners in the area. The service was always lacking but the food made up for it. Today I experienced the new standards. The menus stunk of mildew. I should have run for it. Our shrimp basket was yummy until the breading fell off and revealed that the shrimp were not cleaned. Yep, full of shrimp crap. We had eaten almost all of them when we saw it. I opened up a few more and they were all full of poop track. Stomach turning. Then my beautiful salad came. The ranch dressing that I poured on tasted like milky mayonnaise. Not a sign of any herb flavor. The salad was otherwise perfect. The gyro meat that I ordered on the side were chunks of mush. There is a reason you should grill or add texture to gyro meat. Without it, it is just meat gelatin. The fries were outstanding. The service was decent but I could tell she was annoyed by my complaint about the shrimp and the dressing. I know, I know, silly customers and their demands for poop-free shrimp and flavored salad dressings!! They have lost sight of the business they are in. The owner that I knew would never have allowed this loss of quality in the food. His wife was not serving today and it was a much better experience on that end. She was a terrible waitress. I'm not a diner person, but my friend LOVES diners. First, the service was perfect. Our server was perfectly attentive, efficient, thorough, but not pushy. He did exceptionally well for his age. I was ecstatic to find numerous kinds of French toast on the menu - and to be able to order it...meaning the egg batter is not pre-made with cinnamon. I LOVE French toast, but I don't like cinnamon. It is nearly impossible to get French toast when I'm out to eat, because everyone puts cinnamon in it and doesn't offer you the option to order it without cinnamon. THANK YOU! My friend ordered eggs, bacon, and the Nutella and banana crêpes, which were good The portion was very generous and the price good. We really enjoyed it and will definitely be back. In an attempt to change up routine, husband and I widened our breakfast net, and JukeBox Diner found itself in our lasso. Giddyap. As far as diner breakfasts go, JukeBox is solid. There's a big enough selection without being overwhelming (i.e. two full pages of choices rather than a phone book), including trusty stand-bys like biscuits and gravy, pancakes, and scrambled eggs. But there are twists on classics, too: lemon poppy seed French toast, Irish Benedict with corned beef hash, or fajita omelets. Everything hits the spot here, but it won't curl your toes. If you live nearby, you've got a solid bet in JukeBox. If you don't, you probably have solid bets in your own 'hood. What I do appreciate about this place that sets it apart, however, is the wonderfully hospitable service, al fresco dining option (even if it *is* overlooking a scenic parking lot), and that the dining room -- with a fun, neon 50s theme including a golden oldies soundtrack -- is spotlessly clean. It was pouring with rain at 730 on a Wednesday night when we pulled up to Silverado in Annandale. We were starving and were looking forward to warming up with some good food. We walked in and I asked for a table for two. That is when the hostess said "The wait is 45 minutes". Before i even knew it, we were back in the car, searching for a place to eat. Who wants to wait 45 minutes for dinner on a Wednesday?? Since we were starving and cranky we just pulled into the nearest shopping center and said decided to check out the juke box diner. What a good idea! Now, its by far not the best diner i've ever been to, but it is miles above some. The menu is expansive. You can get everything from breakfast to a steak to pasta to a burger. I seriously think you could have gotten whatever your heart desired. And everything was reasonably priced (minus my $10 omelet!) I got a veggie omelet with egg whites (hence why it was so expensive!) and most of the time they will come with more egg than vegetables... but not at juke box! It was full of vegetables and absolutely delcious! I was really impressed. The potatoes were good and toast was nothing exciting. My friend got some kind of chicken pita thing, which he said was good, but i was very impressed with the fries that came with it. They were seriously tasty and perfectly cooked. Overall a good diner experience... not something i will go out of my way to repeat, but if i'm ever in the area again, i'll be back! read more

Absolutely Horrid. OK, I like Diners & I like liver & onions so this is what I ordered. It was easily the worst meal I have eaten in memory. The liver was a thin sad piece of tough meat, that had a vague taste of liver but mostly tasted of yuk & freezer burn. The onions were OK & the gravy... I've tasted better stuff out of an envelope. The "vegetable" that came with it was corn niblets -corn is a grain- that tasted of freezer burn. The mashed potatoes were like wall paper paste. If this had been my first liver experience I would have never tried it again. Our waitress was a inattentive woman who spoke in very clipped tones, it was as if she was inconvenienced to take any orders. I will say the iced tea was very good, but, I can make good iced tea at home. My stomach was in knots the rest of the evening. Would not recommend this place at all. read more

Visited after seeing they had a 3-star rating but was very disappointed. The atmosphere was okay, a little dingy, waiter was friendly and flirty, but when my food arrived there was mold on my toast. It was pretty obvious which made it worse. If they would blatantly put moldy bread on my plate, I can only imagine what else is lurking behind the scenes. DON'T EVEN TRY TO USE A COUPON OR ONLINE DEAL HERE! They won't honor them!!!!! Better yet, just don't eat there at all! This business is SHAMEFUL in their refusal to honor coupons and online deals. Our waitress at first tried to tell us that it was because it was a Sunday. I said there was nothing on the coupon saying I couldn't use it on a Sunday. Then she tried to say it was a misprint and they were not at fault. Not true. THEN she said she would get the manager, who came over and said it wasn't good on the specials. NOT TRUE. We ended up paying full price but promising not to return. Even though the special french toast was very good, the service was AWFUL! Had to repeatedly ask for coffee refills and they were not that busy. I've waited tables and I have a lot of patience when someone is busy, but ZERO when they are not. I was here with my Wife a couple of weeks ago, and found the food to be terrible! My Wife and I ordered sandwiches, I had the pastrami and she had the corn beef. We wanted them on Rye Bread with nothing else on them. The waiter said Okay and left. After about 10 minutes, our order comes, but with Lettuce, Tomato, and Cheese, plus they were on White Bread. We told the Waiter that this is what we wanted, and he told us that they were out of Rye Bread and this is the way that they make the sandwiches. We told the Waiter that this isn't what we ordered, but he just looked at us and left. We were hungry and unfortunately, we had to eat the sandwiches. The sandwiches were not the best thing that we have eaten since we moved down here from NYC. They were very dry with no flavor what-so-ever. Even with the Lettuce, Tomato, and Cheese, it still was not very good. We had to add Salt and Pepper, even though there was Mayo on them, which is a VERY BIG NO-NO in any NYC Deli, we ahd to add some Mustard on top of the sandwiches. When we left to pay the Bill, I told the Manager on Duty there about our ordeal here, and he didn't say a thing, and just took the money! We will never come back to this place ever again! Got a breakfast egg white sandwich only from this place. It looks sketchy from the outside....and inside. They are ridiculously high priced. Eight bucks for just egg whites, with onions and peppers on wheat toast? Why egg whites are more than regular eggs is still a mystery. Peppers and onions are more. Cheese is more too. Sigh. Disturbing thing is-the coffee filters were used as a place for staff to hold their keys-EWWWW. The lanyard for the keys was filthy! I was so grossed by that. As hard as it was not to constantly sing "juke box diner, got stars in their eyes" while I was here, the JukeBox diner has more to offer than just inspiration for a parody of a Foreigner song. It offers very little in terms of aesthetics, but the food was all above average for a diner. I had low expectations but they far and away surpassed them. As Michelle mentioned, the variety is huge, but not overwhelmingly so. Everything that came out of the kitchen looked good, but that may have been because I was cold, wet, and very hungry. The pancakes in particular looked fantastic and I'd love to come back to try them. The chubby woman in the booth next to us appeared to love her pancakes, but of course chubby people love almost all food (I'm a chubby person so I'm allowed to say this). I went with the chicken souvlaki greek dinner, which was open faced pita, with grilled chicken, fries, and a greek salad. Overall, very good! The chicken was perfectly seasoned and cooked, and the pita bread was great, though not quite as good as Amphora. Highlighted with some delicious feta, and a great greek dressing that wasn't heavy or overpowering. A great compliment to the chicken, as well as the salad. This place is way too out of the way for me to patronize with any frequency, but if I found myself in the area again I wouldn't hesitate to return. read more

They don't serve lemon in your water, they have an inexplicably huge fake plant in the bathroom, and file "Cajun Chicken" under the 'Italian favorites" portion of the menu - in other words - this is pure Diner greatness! The JukeBox is 50's themed without being TOO kitchy and offers a terrific scope of traditional diner fare (hot open turkey sandwiches, burgers, breakfasts) - along with a few things that are slightly 'nicer' (a salmon topped salad), as well as a few things I have never seen like - raisin pancakes (hmmmm?) Refills on water were fast! They had tidy tables that had all four 'sugar' options! (I personally hate when there is no Splenda... cause Sweet and Low... poison in a packet....ew!) Perfect atmosphere if you are in a diner mood - but still want to go somewhere clean, with good service. My only qualm is that the price of the desserts seems high for the small (especially for a diner) portions. My chocolate mousse cake was yummy - but $4.50 for a little tiny cake sliver.... not cool. I'll probably return for some of the entrees, and the laid-back atmosphere, but (since I am all about the big portions when I am in a diner mood) I'll get my dessert elsewhere. read more
