Food was great! But what REALLY made our night was Erich, our AWESOME server. We would definitely come back just to be served by him.

Our family likes to stop at diners so when we saw that this one had a Mustang hanging from the ceiling had to stop in. Very glad we did. The food we ordered was typical diner fare (Spaghetti with Meatballs, kids Hotdog, BLT, Steak & Eggs) but once it came out, you could tell it was quality fare. Definitely better than expected (example the coffee served was LavAzza and the spaghetti sauce appeared home made, the steak was my only food complaint as I can easily do better). That would have been satisfactory enough, but by far the best part of the meal was the banter shared with the staff. Our waiter Eric was attentive and frankly very entertaining. While the food did not all come out at once, we didn't mind as it meant more time talking with the staff. Will remember this place for the next time in town. read more

I got the baconater omlet, it wasn't anything special, my toast wasn't toasted all the way so it was still soft. My partner got the grits which he said we're crunchy so he didn't eat them. Loved the 50s diner look of this place, couldn't wait to try it. Interior decor was just as fun as the exterior. Wish our experience had been better, however. Greeted and seated right away; menu was impressive. Our server came to our table and failed to introduce himself or say anything, he just came over and smiled at us. That was a red flag. We ordered, and things went downhill from there. It took way too long for two meals, breakfast meals at that, to be made. When they did finally come out, my husband only got his side order. A single pancake. It took another couple of minutes before his eggs benedict arrived. My food, even though it came out first, was lukewarm and clearly had been sitting for some time. I should have realized that a diner this empty on a Saturday morning is a bad sign. Too bad, we won't be back. read more

I went there for breakfast but after looking at the menu which really seemed to be a bit Greek inspired I went with lunch. I was vacillating between chicken or meatball Parmesan sandwich and the waitress recommended the cheese steak! I said I would be in Philadelphia later this week eating cheesesteaks so I wouldn't want to eat it twice in a week! So it was the chicken Parmesan and let me tell you it was delectable! My boyfriend and I went to the Juke Box Diner today and it was a great experience! Our server was so nice and very attentive. The whole diner is decorated in 1950's memorabilia and has a few arcade games. We had so much fun looking around and playing the games. The food was great as well. I've been coming here once a month for about a year and it has been consistent. Good breakfast food and a server that keeps drinks full and gets our order correct. Today we had Erich as our server and I can say I will be asking for him from now on! He was such a delight at 9am and helped us navigate through the menu with a pun and a smile. Made sure that I had decaf coffee even though they didn't have it made, checked in just enough to make sure we set up to enjoy our banana caramel waffle (his suggestion of course)! I know a yelp review doesn't give him enough credit but he made our day to the point where we just keep chatting about it. It's safe to say that this place isn't what it used to be. I remember this diner being a cute place where you could get a good burger and milkshake, but it seems to have gone extremely downhill. The food was mediocre, but what mostly lead me to write this review was the service. Our waiter, who I think was named Erich, was extremely creepy to me and my girl friends. He kept coming over to our table telling us he just wanted to please us and make us happy, told us we could get more than what's on the menu if we wanted (if you know what I mean), and told us he wouldn't mind if we "bit him." It was very uncomfortable and I wanted to leave immediately. I also feel bad for the poor young teenaged boy he was training, who also obviously felt uncomfortable, and Erich told us to not tip him since he was new. Second time we stopped there, and this time we waited for the food that never came! The first time, a year or so ago, the service was horrible, and as I recall the food was OK. This time there were more customers, and we were in a hurry to eat so we stopped. We ordered fairly quickly, but then we noticed we only saw one waitress in the entire place, and one other person who would occasionally bring the bill or some other item. The food didn't come, didn't come, and finally, we left. We waited for 45 minutes; we ordered simple, non-complex items, and should have been easy. Never will we ever go to this restaurant again! So, I am giving four stars more for the potential than for the actual experience we had tonight - that was really three stars. You can tell this place is going to be good, but four days in they are still learning. The decor is nice, they have really fixed up the old Red Panda, it looks great! It's a bit loud - when it's full, it will be very noisy. Looks great, though, and they have clearly done a lot of work revamping. There is a bar with stools in the middle - but you can't sit there just yet, because the cool convertible car they will be hanging from the ceiling is currently taking up all the room in the middle! It's clear most of the kids there are on their first job - but they are trying hard and mostly doing a good job. Eager to please for sure, just not yet well versed in the job. We both got egg dishes, and they were pretty decent, if a tiny bit bland. I had the Mediterranean scramble - requested extra feta, which I got, and mushrooms, which I did not, though it was on the bill. The menu said the scramble had kalamata olives, but they were black olives. And the home fries were difficult to find in the scramble, which is weird. We had to ask for jelly with our toast and seconds on soda. But these things are all trivial, and I point them out only to show that they are still on their learning curve. We would certainly recommend this place - in fact, I would like to STRONGLY recommend to the owners that they remain open till midnight - this is the perfect place to do that in Manassas. We think they would thrive if they stayed open late. There is nowhere in the area to go after hours other than IHOP, and this is much better than that. Once they get their groove going, this place will be great. Don't let that keep you away - it's still pretty darn good now, and if we don't support them now, we'll never get to the really good stuff! So go in and have a meal - let us know what else is good! Next time we will try the onion rings and gyros. Opa! read more

3 strikes your out. Like the nostalgic environment, but the food is not impressive. First time I went was for lunch and the place was semi busy but the customer service was good. Had the steak and cheese sub (which was awful). Second time was for dinner and customer income was consistent. Had the meatloaf and mashed potatoes (was better than the steak and cheese sub but nothing worth talking about). Third and final time was for lunch and place was dead. Ordered a cheeseburger (which was below average but again nothing to brag about) and a milkshake. The milkshake came out half mixed (syrup is visible at the bottom of the glass). Asked them to take it off the bill because it sucked and was advised they couldn't but they can try and redo it. Out comes milkshake #2 which looked better but tasted bad. At this point I was done and left. Won't be going back. ***They can't remove item(s) off your bill if you didn't like them. BOY WAS I DISAPPOINTED :( While sitting in a booth, there was no comfort for my back because its just a cheap piece of wood, no padding.. Which really irritated me when someone was seated behind us and i was knocked several times while she got into the booth... Everytime she moved... Went here for breakfast after a doctor's appointment. We'd been looking for a decent place in this area since it's a fairly regular thing we do, and it's kinda annoying to have to drive all the way back down to 66 for Bob Evans or Cracker Barrel. Place is big and a little dated looking (even for a diner) and it was kinda quiet, but the place started to pick up before we left. Food was great, tasty and decent portions. My SO enjoyed his pancakes, and I really liked my waffle. Service was also super fast, and the waitress was very nice. Today was my second time eating here and both times I've been unimpressed. Today really did me in, though, and I won't be coming back. I ordered the Eggs Benedict and was very disappointed when the hollandaise sauce tasted strongly of yellow mustard. It was not good at all. I told the waitress that I didn't like it and the reason why. She offered to bring me something else. I went simple and just asked for 2 scrambled eggs. When we got the bill it showed the Eggs Benedict. I told the waitress that the rejected item was still on the bill and I didn't think it should be since I didn't like it. The waitress was very hesitant and said maybe she could take 10% off. When she came back she said she took 25% off the one item since the eggs were free. I think this is unacceptable and it really turned me off. Poor customer service. Another warning I have for potential customers: the "home fries" are just frozen, processed potato cubes. read more

Brand new place in town, and impossible to miss from the street with the polished metal siding. The interior is done up pretty well, certainly hitting pretty close to the theme they were looking for, complete with the music (granted it's not from a juke box). I was hoping to see a 24hr diner in town, but alas no, however they are open fairly late. That may be a good thing for food quality though since they do have a very expansive menu. I gave their Reuben a try, and was impressed. Flavorful and well prepared, and while I do like dark or marbled Rye, their light Rye bread was quite tasty. Although chips are a classic side for a Reuben, I would have liked other no-cost options (fries are extra). I didn't try the milkshake, so I can't say I've tested their authenticity. ;-) Their staff was friendly and attentive, and my food arrived very quickly. It's not a good sign when a diner is practically empty on a Sunday morning. The hustle and bustle of a good breakfast diner is really what I was looking for. Maybe I came too early but It was a let down. It looks like they have that retro diner feel going on so I thought it might be good. I ordered a broccoli omelette with white toast. The eggs were cooked properly but were somewhat tasteless. The broccoli was not properly cooked/steamed through. The stems were cut into squares and mixed with the eggs. Problem here is that you have to cook the broccoli longer than the eggs. So the veggies turned out extra crunchy which made for an unpleasant texture. The toast was your standard high throughput bakery, american style wonderbread, absolutely average but typical of suburban america. What a dud, maybe avoid this item if you go for breakfast. read more

I was really excited about eating here. I love diner food & I haven't discovered much good diner food in Manassas. My boyfriend & I came for breakfast. I ordered creamed chipped beef on toast with scrambled eggs & home fries & he ordered corned beef hash. The coffee was really good & our server was really sweet. Unfortunately, those are the only good things I have to say about Jukebox Diner. My creamed chipped beef was actually sour. Before eating here, I had only sent back food once in my life. Because I couldn't eat the chipped beef, I ordered a waffle under the impression that it would be really difficult to mess up. I was wrong. The waffle was really dense & just did not taste good. As far as my boyfriend's corned beef hash, it was okay. It wasn't anything I couldn't make at home. Open a can of corned beef hash, heat it up, & dump it on a plate. Needless to say, unless they make drastic changes in their kitchen & start actually caring about the food they serve, I won't be back. read more

My husband and I just had lunch at the Juke Box and look forward to returning again. They have a large number of booths, tables and counter seating all in a 50's diner atomosphere. The booths are large, family sized. I'm a Celiac and can't have any gluten. When I asked our pleasant waitress, Betty, for a gluten free menu she returned with the owner. He explained to me that in a month they will have a gluten free menu and dedicated gluten free grill. I ordered a plain hamburger, minus the bun and their homemade chips which the owner personally cooked for me. The 100% Angus hamburger was the best I've have in the Northern Virginia, not a hard, pre-frozen pattie but a freshly made pattie. I felt the owner and waitress walked that extra mile to accomodate me and that makes me want to be a loyal customer. The food was great the place was very clean. The menu has plenty to choose from for all times of the day. I think for a diner they are a solid 4 or 4 1/2. Check out the Juke Box when you're in the area. read more

Came here with my girlfriend after pleading with her to try something new. She had the triple decker club sandwich and I had the gyro dinner. Both were very tasty and the service was excellent and the staff was friendly. We also had the western fries for an appetizer which was so tasty I wanted more. Following the meal for dessert we had an Oreo shake and caramel bread pudding so sweet and decadent. I've been to places that screw up bread pudding before, this is not one of them. read more

The menu here is HUGE. There is literally something for everyone no matter what you are in the mood for. The ambiance is interesting, very colorful and I love the different heights and levels you can be seated on. The 50's décor is cute; you will always have something fun to look at. The food is blah. Granted that are LOTS of choices, too bad I found the food poorly seasoned, somewhat soggy and overall, not the yummy diner food I was craving. Even worse, the service was slow. I mean like, waited for an hour for eggs kinda slow. If they were open at 3am after a night of dancing and booze, I am sure I would adore this place, sadly... brunch with friends are family can be enjoyed much more at other Manassas eateries! I am giving this place 3 stars only because I feel guilty giving it 2. Realistically we are talking about a diner with diner food. Greetings Yelpers! It's been a while since I have "Yelped", mainly because the wife and I have started a very aggressive and strict diet program that has significantly changed what and how we eat. Still, we like to go out every once in a while, especially when family is in town. We were looking for something around that area on Sudley Rd which would be both diet-friendly and have breakfast and lunch options for our guests. After considering the options in the area, we decided to roll the dice and give the Juke Box Diner another try. The family with us was my in-laws, who were with us for our last experience here that earned my last review. So they were understandably skeptical. However, we were glad that we came. Like the reviews show, this place can be a bit of a "crap shoot". Both their food and service have received poor marks. Outside of a couple of minor misses, the food quality has never been an issue here with me. And the food quality was again strong. I went with a house salad topped with salmon, expecting a salad with chunks of salmon. Instead, I got a freshly cooked piece of salmon served over a house salad with dressing on the side. All components were good. My father in law ordered the same platter as before - only this time it came as advertised, no mistakes. My wife ordered a tuna wrap, and my mother-in-law opted for a special - a spinach and mushroom quiche. Both were happy with their meals. Service, however, has always been a HUGE issue here. This time, the service was spot on. Part of that may have been because they simply weren't busy - rather surprising for a place that serves breakfast all day to be that empty at around noon on a Sunday. My guess is that their service problems has led to a lot of people not coming back, and now they can handle the smaller volume of business they do get. Additionally, we could tell our server was experienced and knew what he was doing. If he was helping someone else and wasn't able to take our order, he still acknowledged us and said he would be back. He kept the coffee filled. He checked on us. And just as I was thinking "this is taking a tad too long" the food came out. Time from order to service has been another huge problem here, and this was the best experience I've had here in that respect. Still, I can't go back to 4 stars because the place just seems a bit "depressed" because of the lack of clientele. At the section we were sitting, there was a section of the booth that was just ripped out, with the wood exposed. And despite the lack of customers, it seemed that dirty tables sat a long time, waiting to get bussed. I would give 3.5 stars maybe, and I will go back again.
