Solid experience. Staff very friendly. They had a double smashburger running so I got that. It was very good. Place was fairly empty and this quiet. Staff checked in on me while I ate even though it's not true table service. Nice touch. The fries tasted like those frozen / flash fried preseasoned ones. Not very good. Green beans and Cole slaw were good. Check em out if you are in the area.

The food is really good. I must say I didn't want rice with my blackened catfish so I substituted it with mashed potatoes and I got macaroni and cheese with cabbage instead of coleslaw. The hush puppies were OK. I will be back again to order it and the customer service was amazing. Those girls were so sweet.

This restaurant is the perfect place to stop while coming through Florence. The hospitality is 10/10 and the food is great. It's true Southern hospitality with a welcoming family atmosphere. Don't skip the amazing desserts at the end!!

Being on the road, I have a list of dietary restrictions so I can successfully keep driving. However.. I could not stay away from that pot roast. That gravy and rice took me back to when I was a kid getting a plate from my grandma. That is gravy.. and rice.. simple things southern made that make a plate incredible before you can even reach the proteins. Now what was actually mine? Catfish and fries. I did play it safe, but that catfish was everything. Properly cleaned, fried to perfection. Super crispy, smoky when you break it and seasoned through. It literally doesnt get better than that. Aside from my wife's pot roast, the mac & cheese was valid. Seeing it, I had questions, but when you break through that layer of cheese, it was oozing with goodness. My only regret is not staying the night in Florence and letting this food put me to sleep. This is an easy play to stop along I-95.

Absolutely great! Food was hot, vegetables were fresh, service was excellent! Wish they had more locations, but it's a must stop on exit 164 in SC. You will leave highly satisfied!

We stopped by Julia Belle's on our way back from taking a trip down to Florida. Julia Belle's is a family owned business that offers a lot of Southern cooking staples on their menu. They also had great hospitality to push a couple tables for our big group to sit together. They made sure that we had everything we needed through our dining experience. As a family we shared a few dishes. We got fried green tomatoes, a seafood combo platter and a side of macaroni and cheese. Everything came out piping hot, so you know it was made to order. The fried green tomatoes were so good. I liked the remolaude sauce that went along with it. The fried seafood combo dish was a good variety. It came with a blue crab cake, fried shrimp and fried catfish nuggets with a side of coleslaw. The seafood was very fresh. We were very satisfied with the food and would consider returning in the future if we are in the area.

Stepping inside we quickly noticed it was an order at the counter kind of place, with table service for your food. From the outside, it looked pretty cozy, but once you were in there was actually a surprising amount of space to spread out. We started with a Dr. Pepper, but it arrived quite flat. When we mentioned it to the staff they explained that all their sodas shared the same CO2 tank suggesting there wouldn't be much difference if we swapped it. It was a bit of a letdown especially since we ended up not drinking it and there wasn't an option for a refund. Just a heads up even a simple cup of water comes with a small charge here. For my main course I opted for the Carolina shrimp roll with fried shrimp. While the roll itself was perfectly buttered and tasted great, the shrimp batter had a tendency to just fall right off and it felt a bit light. I also found it was quite generous with the tomatoes which combined with the slaw seemed to overpower the shrimp flavor and possibly made the breading a bit soggy. My dining companion had their heart set on the crab cake platter, but we ended up with a crab cake sandwich instead essentially a crab cake on a hamburger bun. When we pointed it out to our server kindly brought the receipt and showed us what was rung up. It must have been a little mix up at the register, but no biggie we just decided to go with the flow and enjoy it as is. The crab cake itself wasn't really a standout, but I have to say, those mashed potatoes were absolutely delicious especially with that flavorful gravy and seriously don't let me forget to rave about the Mac and Cheese it was really really good. We also had a pulled pork sandwich on the table. It came absolutely smothered in a mustard based BBQ sauce which while tasty unfortunately made the bun quite soggy. I ended up just enjoying the perfectly cooked meat on its ownwhich was fantastic. Honestly, one of the main reasons we even considered this spot was because we heard they had a lobster roll. Turns out, it's been off the menu for quite a while which was a little disappointing.

I truly enjoy supporting local businesses and enjoying great local food while travelling. This hands down was the best meal we had on this trip. Restaurant was tucked in a small shopping area, brightly lit and well decorated, spotless and packed with a bustling crowd late on a Friday. All a good sign of the great food we were about to have. I had the blackened catfish, with rice, slaw, beans and corn fritters. Catfish was evenly perfectly cooked, perfectly seasoned - not dry at all. Rice, slaw - delicious. Corn fritters - perfectly crisp and sweet. Green beans - delicious, savory. Wife had the honey-pecan chicken roll - excellent flavors, not too sweet, balanced by the bacon well. Grits - delicious. We had the pleasure of meeting and chatting with Fran the owner, who was such a great host, truly added to what was a great experience. Looking forward to stopping again, since the restaurant is convenient to our travels.

Stopping in as we travel south. Good reviews and right off the highway. Fast casual with seat yourself and order at the counter. I got the MAYBERRY PORK CHOP SANDWICH. Fried Pork Chop topped with tomato, house-made chili and sweet Savannah's coleslaw, On a buttery bun. Really good. Tender pork chop and the breading was so flavorful. Also, very filling. Good bang for your buck. Deb got GRAMMY'S POT ROAST. Mashed potatoes. Slow roasted pot roast with carrots, onions and celery in house-made gravy served over a bed of rice. Lots of good flavors and large portion. Sold spot with great food. Convenient spot off the highway and very friendly folks.

My food was just not right. The hamburger steak and cabbage was ok but this rice was mush. Is so bad I don't even want to ask for something else.

We Were a party of 3. The woman that took our order was delightful. Shared her recommendations and the daily specials. We ordered two smashburger plates and a catfish nugget basket. All were fresh and piping hot. The collard greens were delicious As well as the catfish nuggets. We were traveling through and were recommended for this restaurant. I would wholeheartedly recommend this 100 times over. Also, nice Christian music playing for your enjoyment.

It's a cute little shop, with sandwiches, cakes, dips, appetizers, all sorts of homemade goodies ready to take with you. The menu also has a selection of casseroles, lunches and dinners. The cakes are HUGE! We settled on buying a red velvet cake. It was a bit pricey at $32 BUT it was so dang heavy, we asked if it was perhaps frozen?? It wasn't. While checking out, the lovely people behind the counter offered us a sample of the chicken salad. To me, chicken salad is good, but I can't say I've ever had chicken salad that blew my socks off... UNTIL THEN! Mmmmmm it was VERY good. It's been months and I still remember how incredibly tasty the chicken salad tasted. I'll be honest, I didn't say anything, but I'm hit or miss when it comes to red velvet so I was hesitant. Sometimes red velvet can taste bitter or just not good. My friend really wanted that one so I kept quiet. Boy am I glad I did! It was literally the most amazing red velvet cake I've ever tried. It's VERY rich so a small slice will do you (which means the cake will feed more!). Even as rich as it was, I was like a crackhead, wanting just a bit more. Since my friend lives solo, she insisted I take some cake with me. I should have taken more!!! I try not to live life with regrets, but that's one regret for 2015. :( My daughter will tell you she does NOT like red velvet. I forced her to close her eyes, and take a bite. She LOVED it! She scarfed down the slice I brought for her and wanted more. As I mentioned earlier, this was months ago and I still think about how great the cake and chicken salad tasted. I was shocked to see Kaleen's hadn't been created on Yelp yet! If you're anywhere nearby, STOP AT KALEEN'S! Totally worth it.

A Florence standout worth returning to!…read more As a San Francisco Bay Area foodie, I'm always searching for restaurants that care about sourcing, seasonality and the entire dining experience. Town Hall checked those boxes for me a couple of years ago, so when work brought me back to Florence, I knew exactly where I wanted to eat. I looked at other options first, but nothing appealed to me at quite the same level. Town Hall's farm-driven, Southern-inspired menu, shareable plates and beautiful setting won me over again. And I'm happy to report: the second visit was every bit as memorable as the first. We started with the house-made cornbread and honey butter at our server's recommendation. Be warned: this stuff is dangerous. Hot, sweet and almost cake-like, with that honey butter melting into it. We promptly ordered another basket. Cocktails were equally impressive. I ordered a Sidecar, and when our server asked my cognac preference, my colleague volunteered Hennessy. Hennessy it was--and it made one spectacular Sidecar. For dinner, our server described a scallop special served over a shrimp étouffée-style preparation with microgreens. Sold. I paired that with the wedge salad because, well, I needed some roughage. The wedge came beautifully dressed with blue cheese, tomatoes, pickled red onion and bacon. The scallops were beautifully seared and tender, and the rich sauce underneath made the dish. My dining companions joined the fun with the house-made sausage, another order of the scallops, and a ribeye with French fries swapped in for the creamed corn--a little steak frites moment. Everything landed beautifully. What impressed me almost as much as the food was the service choreography. Our server was knowledgeable, personable and attentive without hovering. There was thoughtful table touching throughout the evening. Our dishes arrived together, and no plates disappeared while someone else was still eating. Those details may seem small, but polished hospitality lives in those details. We were far too full for dessert, so we called it a night--happy, well-fed and already talking about how good everything had been. Town Hall is the kind of restaurant I hope to find when traveling for work: locally driven, interesting food, strong cocktails, beautiful surroundings and service that understands hospitality. Two visits several years apart, and both delivered. If you're in Florence--or passing through South Carolina on your way toward the coast--Town Hall is worth making part of the trip. Life is too short not to eat well, sleep well, travel well and shop well. Get out there and find your next destination.

Wonderful service, got a table right away and waiter came by immediately to take drinks and appetizer order and go over specials of the day. I liked the interior layout and that you can watch the chefs prepare entrees while you dine. That alone can be entertaining if you are dining alone. Reminded me of Ted's Montana Grill. Now for the food..., everything came out quickly. We got the deviled eggs, and New Orleans Shrimp as appetizers and the flavors were amazing. I simply had to use the corn bread to dip up the New Orleans sauce after the shrimp were gone, it was had good! After appetizers I didn't want a large meal, so I got the daily scallops special. It was just the right amount. The scallops were grilled just right, and the sauce (the sauce again!) was flavorful with a mild spice kick to it. Blueberry sorbet for dessert, locally made. Will definitely be back when my travels take me back to Florence.

He was SO hospitable, sweet and genuinely welcoming. He gave great recommendations and did not steer us wrong. These days, it's not always easy to come across service like that, which made it even more appreciated. I ordered the Sunset Blush drink and it was delicious. We also got the cornbread and I'm not exaggerating when I say it was the BEST cornbread I've ever had. So soft and flavorful. After driving 15 hours on March 21, 2026, my husband and I were genuinely excited to try this place and planned to take our food back to the hotel. Unfortunately, the experience started off poorly and never really recovered. First, parking is extremely limited out front, which is frustrating when you're tired and just want a quick pickup. Inside, things only got worse. The front-of-house staff was shockingly unprofessional. The employee helping us clearly didn't understand her job and had to be corrected multiple times by another staff member--something no customer should have to witness. It created confusion, delays, and zero confidence in our order. We paid about $50 for a sampler, which is not cheap, and yet the same employee argued about giving us the sides because she entered the order incorrectly. If another, more competent employee hadn't stepped in, I'm convinced it would have escalated further. Even then, we never received one of the four sides we paid for. To make matters worse, we were never asked if we wanted drinks to go, and we weren't given plates, silverware, or even BBQ sauce--basic essentials for a takeout order. That's just unacceptable. While waiting, we also watched this same employee tell three separate dine-in families to go sit and wait while she stood there rolling silverware. Completely rude and dismissive. If I had been one of those customers, I would have walked out. This is the first impression customers get, and it's a terrible reflection of how the place is run. Between the disorganization, poor communication, and outright unfriendly behavior, the service was a mess. The only reason this isn't a one-star review is because the food itself was actually very good. The burnt ends and ribs were the standout--absolutely delicious. But great BBQ can't fully make up for such a frustrating and poorly managed customer experience.
