He's not the 'salesy' dentist which seems to be predominant now. He gets on with it and I'm in and out of the office fast, every time. For example my cleaning and exam should have been fully covered as I have two dental insurances but not having explained the procedure I ended up having to pay out of pocket for an image that I am still not sure why I was charged for while my insurances cover cleaning and exam (2x exam/year with one and 1X exam/year with the other). I also have to send several follow ups to get an answer regarding my questions.

I told them no way, especially since a previous repair had lasted over five years using a more conservative method. They insisted it wasn't possible, so I got a second opinion. That dentist was conservative, simply filled the chip, and shaved nothing off! Most recently, I had a crack on a back molar. This office wanted to remove half of my tooth, fill it, and put on a crown! Once again, I sought a second opinion. That dentist simply cleaned it, did what was actually necessary, and filled it. Imagine if I had trusted this place! My teeth are far too important to let them shave or remove half of my tooth unnecessarily. No thank you. Always seek a second opinion!

He said that the dental hygienist does all the cleanings and is very thorough (about 45 minutes) which is normal. I come in for my routine cleaning and all is nice, staff is very nice and friendly. Dr Jaksha is very nice too, very personable, witty sense of humor; a charming man. He literally cleans my teeth for 5 minutes and tells me that there is bleeding and discomfort (which is quite normal) so he will stop and not charge me for the general cleaning but to make an appointment to see the dental hygienist. I said "I thought that's what I came in for..Obviously, they must have goofed on my appointment and sent me home, then at the desk, he explains to me that he is charging for the general cleaning and they will email me an estimate for further dental work. At this point I am very confused and a bit angry. Long story short, Dr. Jaksha says in an email that he will credit my insurance for the general cleaning. I get 2 cleanings a year for the past 30 something years and never have I had a 5 minute teeth cleaning...My teeth still felt the same, there was still stuff on there that my toothbrush can't reach...this is absurd!!! 3-4 weeks later, I try to make an appointment to get a teeth cleaning at another dentist; come to find out that Dr Jaksha never refunded or credited my insurance. The insurance company said I didn't need a need a deep leaning even though I was informed I needed it and it was too late for me to submit a claim. I was no longer with the same employer which made it more difficult. Other dentists I've been to usually submit a claim prior to my service so I know what I need to pay out of pocket instead they do it after.

I am extremely upset and honestly shocked by the level of care we received at this office…read more I brought my almost 6-year-old son, who has a disability, in because his face was swollen, his mouth smelled bad, and he had a fever. It was very obvious he had a serious dental issue, likely an infection. Instead, we were seen by someone named Soha Hemmat, who introduced herself as a doctor, but based on this experience, I seriously question her competence. She spent less than two minutes examining my son. No thorough check, no concern, no effort. She dismissed everything as "just a virus," told us to brush his teeth and give him Tylenol, and walked out like the situation didn't matter. That was completely wrong -- and dangerously negligent. My son's fever continued, and his condition did not improve. We had to contact his actual doctor and take him back to be seen again just six hours later. He was properly examined and diagnosed with a clear infection, and immediately given antibiotics. This could have gotten much worse because of her careless and dismissive attitude. I have been coming to this office for four years and have always had professional experiences, which makes this even more disappointing. But this encounter was unacceptable. No parent -- especially one with a child who has special needs -- should be brushed off like this. This office seriously needs to address this situation. Either provide proper training or reevaluate who they allow to treat patients, because this level of incompetence and lack of care is not just unprofessional -- it's dangerous.
