Let me start by saying the food is great and the ladies are nice (most of the time) the reason I'm leaving this low review is purely to protest on the prices, they are astronomical! I get it, costs are high.. but there's no way a single 2 item breakfast burrito should be at $5.95! (And then you only get one salsa or you can purchase another) :-/ Also a Tapatio plate for $15!? And it doesn't even come with rice and beans!? this is not a theme park, this is a drive-through burrito shop in San Angelo, Texas.. and also you manufacture goods and sell to grocery stores, if this reaches someone up the chain stuffing their pockets or buying a second home or boat.. please help the public out and let us enjoy your product without going broke. I refer to this place as "Half-A**ed Julio's". They must really think a lot of themselves because they'll serve you any old crud they want. They are one of the most expensive, overpriced and worst tasting burrito place in town. Quantity is definitely more important than quality in this establishment. The eggs are either extremely overcooked and very dry, or snotty, runny, under cooked. The potatoes are usually mostly raw, hard, undercooked. When you order the machocado, maybe you get a couple bites of meat, maybe you dont. If you ask for cheese its usually scaresly slapped on only one side as if only a brief afterthought, yet they charge extra for it. Their food is definitely not worth the money. Knickerbocker and Bryant location are very greedy in the a.m. with meat. I unwrapped my brisket burrito and it was thin. More tortilla. For $6.00 not even worth it. The Julio's in the barrio they are so friendly and burrito's are perfect. Not a good way to start my morning. The hot sauce is good. One star you shall receive. SUPER GOOD!!! Not very friendly ... not very clean BUT darn they're GOOD!! Chipotle chicken is fire hot!!! Get ready!! The breakfast burritos are delicious any way you get it. There was no menu board inside. All they have is a paper menu taped to the counter with all the prices blacked out. They have a Tuesday special, burrito and medium drink for five dollars. Not rude, but definitely never friendly in my visits. The burritos are amazing. You really have to ask them for cheese, pico, etc. they have many extra ingredients that are not displayed. You will not get a good morning or a thank you, but their food is consistent & clean. read more

OMG! The tacos are excellent, staff is friendly, and service is quick. The chorizo and egg is super good, not greasy, and the spice is perfect. Recommended. We also tried an egg cheese supreme mixture that had a variety of ingredients such as onions, ham, bacon, tomatoes, bell pepper, just to name a few. Recommended. Wait for it people, because here comes the bomb: their spicy guiso takes the cake. Think green chili pork tenderloin. Talk about delicious! Spicy hot tender pork loin with what tasted like hatch green chilis meet fresh soft flour tortillas. Just the bomb. Their salsas on the bar are all hot and excellent. Even their prepackaged hot sauces were really good. We liked the spicy guiso so much we took a large container of it home. If you haven't eaten here, you haven't lived. Wonderful local place steadily busy around mealtimes, and justifiably so. Efficient staff and a simple menu endure speedy service via drive thru or at the counter. Breakfast tacos here are absolutely delicious, and you can mix and match fillings, add cheese or no, customising to your exact taste. The fresh salsa bar features both green tomatillo, avocado crema, and 2 kinds of red salsas, with pico de gallo on offer as well. All salsas are obviously made fresh in the back. Thy had bright flavors and enhanced our tacos with just the right amount of zing. Spicy tacos are REALLY spicy -- which we LOVE!! The chicharrron taco was awash in a green child stew stuffed with onions and wonderfully tender pork skin -- proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy. We went there today for lunch and my wife wanted the tapatios because she heard they were good. When we ordered them, the girl behind the counter asked, "Do you want the dozen or half a dozen?" We said we'd like the half a dozen. When we got the order, there were only 3 tapatios in the plate so I went back up to the counter and asked for the other 3 since we had ordered the half a dozen (which is 6). The same girl responded with "Oh, here half a dozen is 3." I tried to explain to her that in the real world, half a dozen was 6 but her manager appeared and agreed with the employee saying that if I wanted my 3 extras that I'd have to order another "half a dozen". I realized the voice of reason would never be understood here so I returned to my table and ate what we had. If you don't want to be conned out of food portions, I wouldn't recommend eating here. The food itself tasted good but I was certainly not happy with the experience overall. read more

Called the day before to place an order for 20 breakfast tacos. When I arrived the next morning at 7:30am my order was already packed up and ready to go. I asked for a pen to add a tip on the receipt and they said, not to worry about it. I tipped anyway for the prompt service but they still didn't charge the tip to my card. We stopped here for a quick breakfast on a Saturday morning. The line was nearly out the door, so we knew it was popular! There were SO many choices of burrito fillings! Ordered bacon, egg, cheese tacos waited in the drive thru for 15 minutes. A lady jumped the line and got in front of us. Apparently, if you call ahead you can do that. Bad business practice, why not use the parking spaces and have someone bring out the call in orders, you have plenty of too. The tacos were not great, too much egg and not enough bacon. read more

Excellent food but cashier service is a one star. Ordered one burrito to eat in. I was the only person in line and no one waiting. As my burrito was being made two more customers came in. My burrito was completed and the next two customers burritos were started. I was standing at the cash register waiting to pay but no one was working the cash register. I stood there for at least two minutes waiting to pay and start eating. Finally the cashier, my receipt said her name is Hilary, came from the back on her cell phone. It was obviously a personal call. She walked past me still talking on her phone. Never acknowledged me or said, "I'll be right with you." Nothing. She walked over to someone that appeared to be her boyfriend or husband and spoke with him and then he left. Finally she strolled over and just looked at me like I was supposed to tell her something so I said, "I had one burrito." She rang up the total and put my burrito in a paper bag even though I had ordered it to eat in. The entire interaction with Hilary she never made eye contact with me at all, even when she handed me my receipt. Always seems to have a poor selection of goodies to put in to a tortilla. They are consistent in the disappointment aspect of a restaurant so they can have 5 stars for that. If you do manage to hit them at a time when the steam table is full of selections it's ok at best. Don't know what all the hype is about for eating here. I was told about this place from a friend in NY. At first sight it's a regular shop but when you bite into one of these brisket and egg breakfast burritos, you are reminded why life is good! Friendly staff present are willing to answer any questions, even the lady from the back looks at the front sometimes and she gives you a friendly smile. They do work their butts off back there and their effort is noticeable in the quality of food they put out. They have a variety of options, from simple to complex. I also like the speed the lines go. Though a little intimidating when the place is packed, I didn't wait longer than 10 minutes to order, get my food and then walk out with a bag in hand. I never tried the drive through. If you're wondering where to get a burrito in San Angelo, this is the place. None of the other reviews have mentioned the tapatios, which are my favorite thing to eat in San Angelo. If you're up early on a Saturday, they also have easily the best menudo in town. It's usually sold out by noon, but it's very worth getting out of bed for. read more

We came here from the Phoenix, Arizona area where fast food Mexican places are not only as common as say, McDonalds, but they taste good too. We were excited to see a "Julios" thinking it was at least similar to a "Juliobertos" (or anything ending in "bertos" from back home). About two months ago, we tried to go here, but they were closed (what the hell is with that here in San Angelo, anyways? Nothing's ever open after 2pm it seems). We were up early on Sunday morning so we went and got burritos. We expected that since the prices were about the same (maybe even a little higher) than back home, the size and type of the food would be the same. Nope! Our two burritos came out to about seven or 8 dollars and were tiny. They were actually taco sized and mine wasn't even filled with what I told them to put in it. I had quit going to the Knickerbocker location because of the customer service. I went today and see it hasn't changed. Got home open order and was not even close to what I had order.
