Stopped in on a Thursday afternoon for lunch. The woman working was very nice and greeted us right away and said we could sit anywhere we'd like. We chose to sit in the back corner under a TV (bad choice). It was the only thing I could concentrate on because all I could hear was Spanish, no big deal though. Our chips and salsa came out before our drinks which I thought was weird since the salsa has a bit of spice to it. A few minutes later though our canned soda came out. I ordered the steak quesadilla and thought it was pretty good. It wasn't bursting with flavor but came with some delicious dipping sauce. They take their sweet time to make the food, so if you're hungry or only have little time to eat, don't go there. It will take about 25-40 minutes to make simple Mexican dishes that shouldn't take longer than 12 minutes. Sometimes there isn't a waiter to take your order. The owner sometimes is there chatting with other guests and will not help. The food is below ok.. they charge as they food was upscale fine dining. Great place, somewhat hole in the wall, met the owner and she's the nicest lady there is. The combo fajitas were awesome, comes out sizzling but not drenched in oil like most places. Vegetables cooked just right and not soft, all the shrimp chicken and steak taste great and aren't over seasoned. The fajita tortillas could damn well be homemade, the salsa definitely is, and all taste very fresh. Spanish rice and refried beans are definitely a big step up from commercial entities, I actually eat the entire portion, when I typically have a bite and ignore it. They don't drench everything in cheese or sour cream, if you need sauces use the salsa on your fajita and you won't be disappointed. I also had the special soup, kind of a vegetable beef, nicely spicy and filling. I'm only staying in Clearwater for a couple of days, but Juli's is definitely on my radar for a revisit! We were visiting the west side of florida and decided to try Juli's in Clearwater. Upon arriving we were greeted with a friendly smile and the service was excellent. Traditional Mexican food is very difficult to come by as most Mexican restaurants are geared more toward American flavors. The flavors of the food were out of this world. From the first bite to the last bite, the flavors just explode as you eat into wonderful flavors on the palate. The food was very authentic and similar to what you find if visiting Mazatlan Mexico. I lived in California for 5 years and fell in love with authentic tacos. I'm always searching for new taco spots in Pinellas County and found Juli's today on Yelp. The price here was fair; I think it was $7.50 for 4 tacos. I asked for the "hot red salsa" and got a wonderful dark red, smokey, spicy salsa. The tacos were fantastic. I highly recommend al pastor; it's all I ever order. The corn tortillas were very soft and melted in my mouth. The meat was tender (notably so). Came with lime slices. My Mom had a beef burrito which she described as "great." It came with fries which were perfectly cooked and crispy. Oddly enough this place offers some American food like chicken wings and burgers too. If you appreciate authentic tacos, go here. read more

This is AUTHENTIC Mexican food and it was excellent, fresh, came out fast, and portions can serve two meals if you eat until no longer hungry instead of full. If you know authentic Mexican food and don't see a dish you like in the menu ask Juli, if it's authentic Mexican she will make it for you just like she did for me (Torta de Carne Asada). First of all, this was my first visit and I was immediately taken aback by how sweet Juli is. She makes you feel welcome and as if you're her best friend or family immediately. Secondly, the food was delicious. We ordered the 3 steak tacos, tacos dorados with rice and corn, and 2 pork and 1 steak tacos. Everything was full of flavor and fresh.
