This is arguably the best tailoring experience I've ever had. Wish I could give six stars. I ordered a tux for a wedding and it shipped two weeks late. The alterations had to be done very quickly. The jacket needed a ton of work and the pants needed to be hemmed. I showed up at 6:30 AM (side note - best hours compared to any local tailors) and the alterations were done in 24 hours. This is the only place in the area with that turn around time. By the time it was expertly tailored, it looked as if it were custom. These ladies helped me out of a jam! I was working out of town on a production in Charleston. One of our crew members, the Director, needed his ripped pants (a significantly large rip) to be repaired. As I was not a Charleston local, I decided to look on Yelp, and Julius Alterations was #1. How could I go wrong? They were extremely polite and responsive to my emails (ON A WEEKEND!) describing the situation. I dropped off the pants at 6:15am, they were ready the same day at 11:00 AM! Julius' customer service is second to none! I came into Julius after stopping at another alterations business at The Markets at Oakland. I'd never recommend that place to my worst enemy, but I digress. As soon as I walked in the door at Julius, I was greeted with a warm smile and welcome. I explained that I needed some alterations done and that I had just had a bad experience elsewhere. The young lady at the front desk was more than willing to help. She explained that usually alterations are done by appointment to ensure all recommended items (shoes, belt, etc.) are present for the correct alterations. Rather than the three pins in each garment the first place put in, this lady clearly knew what she was doing. She told me she would pin what Julius Alterations considered a standard alteration and if I wanted it looser or tighter to just let her know when she was finished. When I asked about the pants being maybe too tight at the cuff, she explained how the style of my shoe and the look of the pants would compliment each other. Mind blown! I could honestly care less if Julius was double the place I went to first. The customer service was amazing. In 2018, WHO ends their business transaction with eye contact and a handshake and a genuine "Thank you for your business. It was a pleasure to meet you."!?!? Julius Alterations and Cleaners. Many of them were very complicated jobs and each and every time Marti and her staff did an outstanding job. I recently got engaged and brought two wedding dresses to Marty to have altered. One of them I completely had her redesign and she completed it flawlessly. The other was a difficult tailor job and she completed it perfectly. The tailoring is great. The service is great. The owners are great. Awesome place. After dealing with some other tailors in the Mount Pleasant area, I was prepared for the usual BS - ridiculous turn-around times, stupid-long advance notice requirements, poor quality tailoring. Things that I used to take for granted in New York (why does no one do 1-hour dry cleaning or alterations here? It's not hard!) Julius gets it, though. I brought a suit in for alteration a week before I had to attend a wedding, and they got it done early. Like, in a few days. With no rush charge. If only it wasn't so far out of the way. Recently had 4 shirts and 2 pair of pants altered here and was totally satisfied with their service. Shirts sleeves required shortening and pants requirEd waist adjustment. They were fastidious about measuring the correct cuff placement on each shirt. Very detail-oriented. They carefully explained the options for shortening the sleeves and the cost of each option. I ended up not using their service. BUT I did want to come here and give a rating just to help anyone in my same situation. I gave it a 4 star, not based on performance, but on my experience. I was looking for a seamstress because I had 3 pairs of jeans and I dress I wanted taken in. I had never done this before so I just wanted to know pricing to see if it was worth it. I found this place had the most reviews. I messaged them through yelp (with pictures) asking how much it would roughly cost. Mind you it was going to be a 35 minute drive. They wrote saying they had to feel and touch the material before telling me an estimate. So I made an apt. and when I got there without touching all the jeans she tells me it will be about $56 for each pair... Now they were all super friendly and I have nothing bad to say about the actual place itself. BUT if they would've just told me over our messages together that a rough estimate for jeans are usually $56 I wouldn't have made a trip and wasted my time and gas. The dress was going to be about $25-$35 which is reasonable, but I had bought it for that price so I just didn't think it would be worth doing. Overall I just wish they told me over the phone instead of making me come in. read more

I can not say enough good things about these wonderful people. My boyfriend's grandmother passed yesterday, and he needed a suit for the funeral which is tomorrow. We bought one at Men's Warehouse, but they had no tailor on hand and the pants were way too long. I called up Julius's and asked if they could take him for a hemming. They had us come in, and when I asked if they could possibly have it done by end of day today so he could drive up to his hometown tonight, they said no problem, and could not have been kinder. I don't know many businesses these days who not only could rush a request like this, but also just be so nice about it. The tailor did a great job on the hemline, and the pants fit perfectly. I found Americlean/Julius Cleaner back in 2013. I bought three suits. One valued at $200 and the others valued at $800 per suit. I was confused about which one to wear and the quality of the suit. Robert told me that he can make a $200 suit look like a thousand dollar suit. I said okay. Well I went to the the restaurant Fleet Landing downtown. When I walked in the entire room got quiet and every just stared at me all night. I loved it. Lol! I've been using this cleaners ever since. The staff at both locations are friendly, and helpful. I called this place while standing in line to buy a dress I had just fallen in love with for a wedding the next weekend, but I couldn't get zipped up all the way! My plan was a simple let out just a bit. They were able to get me an appointment right away! I show up and it turns out there is no room to let out the dress. But it thank god I actually didn't need it, because it was the zipper that was the problem! They assured me I would be able to wear this dress for the wedding in a week! I needed some dry cleaning done before a business trip and my wife needed her pants repaired where they ripped at the seams. I found Julius reviews were great for saving the wedding of many, so I thought they were a good place. First of all, when I walked in, I saw a dirty, run down, unorganized mess that I wondered if I had the right place. Even with this, I trusted they would deliver. When I went in the day AFTER my dry cleaning was due, and a day BEFORE a business trip, where I needed my pants, I was told they couldn't find my clothes. After about 30 mins, they found that my ticket was recorded for pick up on the following Sat. Bottom line, I needed to take other pants that didn't really work in my business world. Finally, I picked up my order, and was charged FULL price. When I asked why they thought this was fair, they offered $10 off my order. The hemming looks good for my wife's slacks, but this isn't enough for me to drive 20 mins across town, while passing 3 other dry cleaners, and give this company my business again. I needed a suit tailored short-notice for an out of town wedding. I found Julius Alterations and Cleaners on the internet late on a Sunday night while looking for a tailor. I emailed them via the link on their website to request an appointment and was surprised to see a response first thing in the morning, with an appointment time a few hours later. When I arrived at the shop, Marti immediately met me and started the fitting. She was very helpful in her recommendations on the fit of the suit and even recommended against some alterations I was asking for. I definitely felt like she had my best interests at heart and not the extra money she could have made to do the unnecessary alterations. She had the suit ready by the promised time the next day and the work looked great! Their shop is nowhere near the closest shop to my house but the 40-minute drive was definitely worth the trip. I had just moved to South Carolina from Washington and my wedding is 6/20/2017. We were less than 2 weeks out. By the next morning Marti had emailed me back saying she could fit me in the next morning at 9. Hallelujah! As I went in she was so warming and welcoming and assured my worries that my dress would be done on time.
