In the weeks before our older dog had to be euthanized, they were particularly super. Our new dog is high-energy, and she loves to go spend time with all her friends. Regular nail trimming is great for us, particularly her front paws. They offer bathing and grooming, but we don't particularly care for the perfumed scent of their standard shampoo, and our dog doesn't shed much. They're also very good about hygiene and cleanliness, requiring documented 6-month Bordetella ("Kennel cough") vaccinations. We've never had issues with the front desk staff and management, but we pay promptly and follow the rules, these days haters will be haters.

Robin and David are phenomenal people and they absolutely love dogs. Our dog Milo did a 2 week…read moreboard and train with Robin in October 2022. Prior to his training with Robin, he knew some basic commands but he'd only obey them if he was incentivized by a treat or toy. He constantly pulled on his leash and we definitely did not trust him off leash. Our primary goal with training was off leash walking and recall and Robin knocked it out of the park.It's been 7 months since his training and he's still crushing it. During training, she sent us updates almost every day so we could watch his progress and he had a great time with them. When Robin dropped him off after his training, he cried when she left - that's how much fun he had during his board and train. Since then, we have boarded Milo with Robin and David 5 or 6 times and Milo's always so happy to see them. David always picks Milo up and drops him off at our house and he's always professional and on time. We're planning on getting another dog in a year or two and will absolutely have Atlanta Dog Stars do their training as well. We did a lot of research before choosing a dog trainer and we could not recommend Robin and David enough.

As a loyal customer for many…read moreyears, I was caught off guard at the change in management and rate increases when I boarded my dog in August. I walked in and immediately noticed some improvements in the rebrand and lobby design which looked nice, so I asked the person checking me in, and she said "I'm the new owner." without taking time to introduce herself by name or mentioning the changes in policy or how the boarding rate increased from $35 to $45 dollars a day. The vibe definitely seemed different, and it wasn't a great first impression. The business is currently owned and operated by a former customer, and I think that connection is neat because it shows faith in the organization. That's a cool story, and I sure wish I had received notification about that and the new business transition. If you're in charge, transparency in client communication should be just as important as taking great care of animals. My dog lost weight while there, and we were sent home with over 50% of her food supply because she is an anxious dog, but I've never experienced this while boarding her before. I appreciate the time the owner took talking with me over the phone because I called her to discuss my experience after we picked up our dog. The business seems understaffed and current employees undertrained, and those factors really came across in the whole experience. I wish Bark Avenue the best in the future, especially in their efforts to retain longstanding customers.

Now, she walks calmly right at my side and will sit quietly as other dogs pass by. The transformation has been incredible. Lainey has also learned commands like "place" and will stay put even when I'm out of sight, which I never thought would be possible. One of the biggest wins for me is being able to take her to restaurants--she sits calmly next to me and truly feels like a well-behaved companion. Just as important, I've learned how to communicate with her in a way she understands. I feel confident handling her both on and off leash, and she's become such a joy to be around.
