I'm between 3 and 4 stars. I understand that's it's fairly new but it's a little out of sorts. It was a Sunday night and it was not crowded a few tables were filled . The dinner menu is diverse from burgers to pizza to dinners and nightly specials. The waitstaff are attentive and always present. We ordered the Short Rib Mac and Cheese, it sounded interesting with crispy bacon and fried onions on top and the Sunday Blue Plate Special, Chicken and Waffles. A Wedge Salad was ordered , it was ordered with a house made cilantro dressing. There is no bread served prior to your meal. The salad arrived , an iceberg wedge, large in size, crispy bacon, crispy onion and bleu cheese crumbles. The dressing was a non vague green liquid over the wedge. There was no definite taste of cilantro , it was not well seasoned. A lemon vinaigrette was ordered , it was much better in taste , but oily. Dinner arrive, plates were wam and so was dinner. The Mac and cheese was ok , an ample portion but the cheese was watery , not thick and creamy, it had good flavor , the Short Rib was tender. The pasta was tender and the fried onions added a different touch. The chicken and waffles were also warm, but the waffle lacked that nice crunch, it was a little soft- soggy. Plenty of fried chicken on top, it was tender and well seasoned, not soggy. The maple syrup was just ok. We will try the restaurant again, but definitely not for the Short Rib MAC and Cheese. read more

Consistently a good dinner out. Saturday night, Tayler was our server, who did an excellent job attending to the two of us, especially with a few runs back and forth to the bar. She checked in on us at the right times, gave us the right amount of no rush time between the appetizer and the main course. Excellent sever. There's never a concern with trying something new here, the food is always flavorful and portion satisfying. My wife had her usual, the 421 chicken dish, while I had the sirloin special. Both were dishes you'd easily come back for, and we do. A big plus for me, the sirloin was cooked as ordered, perfectly medium throughout. The ultimate expression of comfort food and hospitality. Everything we ordered (which seemed like at least half of the menu) was prepared to order and tasted great. The owner made the rounds to each table checking in and chatting up the guests. He was just as interested in what brought us to his restaurant as he was the quality of the food in front of us. Very courteous and attentive service from staff at Junction 421. Unfortunately, the portion size for my Fall Menu selection was rather small. I had the blue cheese sirloin. The steak was only about 5 ounces and it only came with a very small side serving of mashed potatoes. They were not flexible when I asked to sub another side for the mashed potato. I asked for the "vegetable of the day" which was just zucchini, nothing exorbitant, but my request was strangely denied. I was only offered green beans as an alternate choice. The waitress kept trying to upsell us on more expensive entrees when we were ordering food (which is part of her training I guess), but we found that a little annoying. We are seniors with a limited fixed income. This was our first visit, and we came because of the email advertisement that I received for the Fall Menu blue cheese sirloin. I was disappointed in the portion sizes of the steak and side, the quality of the meat, and value ($20). We did receive a free pimento cheese appetizer which was tasty, and they have very good bread. We'll be back to give them another chance since the location is very convenient and the staff was extremely pleasant. I'll just choose a regular menu item instead of a special from the Fall Menu. read more

I went to my first Junction 421 themed dinner last night. It was called the Boo Dinner! It was really quite amazing! The food was superior. I wasn't really in the mood for drinking wine so I ended up with a lot of leftover wine, as well as a box or two full of my leftovers from the dinner. For $45 it was a great evening with friends! All socially distant, and everyone was wearing masks, but it's almost felt like life was normal. They have a few really cool upcoming events including one of my family's favorites, the Feast of Seven Fishes Dinner! Ate an early dinner on a Sunday and accordingly the staff was lean considering the customer traffic was probably forecasted to be low. All the staff was hustling and amazingly good at their job. A gentleman, who I assume was the owner or manager even took the time to come speak to us and chit chat for a bit. This is to say, the restaurant is clearly managed very well. The icing on the cake was when we were leaving and it began pouring rain. Without a minute of hesitation, a young man and the hostess offered to walk everyone to the car with an umbrella as we waited in the lobby. Friday 11/5/21 Quick visit for a snack and a drink today! I had a cup of the Butternut Squash Soup To start...it was AWESOME!!! I have had many which are too sweet and , personally, I prefer a more savory taste to this type of soup. The Salmon is cooked to your liking and has always been perfect every time I have ordered and eaten this dish. I, personally also add the Lemon Beurre Blanc in addition to the mustard sauce...both are sooooo delicious!! One of our group had the Fettuccine Alfredo with the addition of Chicken...this Alfredo is truly one of the best- if not THE best I have ever eaten- superb!! Pizza Special - well. it has been so long, I can't remember which pizza it was, but believe it may have been the Classic with roasted tomatoes, basil and mozzarella- I have tried most of them and they are ALL delicious!! What a wonderful new place! The minute we walked in I recognized the owner! Not only did he come out and greet us and welcome us back but served some appetizers on the house and chatted all about the menu and some dishes not to miss. I had the shrimp and crab over angel hair pasta with mushrooms and tomatoes that was incredibly delicious! No way could I finish it! Trying new restaurants is trying for my wife and I, with her gluten allergies and we have a hard time finding basic dishes, let alone specialty foods she can eat, so Junction 421 was a joy to discover! Every gluten-free item on the menu was clearly marked, and their selection of GF was very good, many more selections than we usually see. Our server, Kate, was great! Well informed, articulate, quite pleasant, and Horace, the Seating Host was the same! We couldn't help but notice the interaction of the staff, all very friendly AND professional. The owner or manager, Jonathan, a very affable fellow and consummate restrauranteur, came by our table, thanked us for coming, and talked to us for several minutes about the place and what he wants to do with it, and convinced us to try the fried calamari (made with rice flour), which we both *loved*. My wife declared the cauliflower crust on her pizza the best she'd ever had, and after a crunchy bite of it, I had to agree-- you'd have thought it a regular flatbread. My Caesar Salad was wonderful, the grilled shrimp perfectly seasoned, and my wife's Creme Bruelle 'knocked her socks off!' Decor was lovely, and they have a well-stocked full bar and nice wine selection. There are Wine and Mixed Drink featured specials and a different Blue Plate Special every night.So yes, we were VERY pleased to find Junction 421, and will be taking our friends there in the future. Really great customer service. Ordered take out on a Friday night and didn't have to wait too long for pick up (they also offer delivery through a food delivery app.) Food was fresh and delicious. The salmon was cooked perfectly and the corn succotash was so amazing. My grandmother was very happy with her BBQ Baby ribs and coleslaw.
