Just happened on this spot and I'm glad I did. Yummy. I arrived an hour before closing and still had a scrumptious meal. The manager just happened to make an extra batch of "Cheese Balls" gave them to me for being a new guest. (How did he know). They were pimiento cheese (which I don't much care for) yum! We had an amazing experience at Junction 421 last night. We were celebrating our anniversary and we couldn't have chosen a better spot. We ordered the wednesday night special- braised short ribs and they were so tender and juicy along with the wine special- the Canyon cabernet. The owner took us to our table and came and spoke with us several times. He even brought us a creme brûlée for our anniversary. All of the staff were kind, knowledgeable and attentive. Their kids menu was excellent with many different exotic foods and drinks such as the shark tank, Roy Rogers, Shirley Temple, and the service is excellent. Father's Day! So Mike decided he wanted to give this place a try... our friends love it so we were hoping we would too. We decided to sit at the bar because it was pretty busy. We were offered the bar specials $3 Bloody Marys or Mimosas. We decided on one of each. Both were really good... the mimosa ratio was good with that perfect bite of champagne. The Bloody Mary was seasoned well and garnished with a lime, olive and celery stock. It was spicy without being over bearing. We both decided on the Carolina burger- I can NEVER do no to bacon and pimento cheese. They came with fries but I asked for a side salad instead. The fries were perfect- warm and crispy. The kind you can dip in ketchup or ranch. The salad was ok- fresh but pretty minimal. The burger was a little underwhelming which I hate to say because it looked delicious- though they didn't look the same- the bun was served cold... so it wasn't as easy to chew and made the rest of the burger subpar. The hamburger was seasoned really well and for $15 I was looking for something mouth watering and in The Fork and Cork range of burgers... it just didn't happen. We have decided to go back and try the actual brunch because the menu looked really good and I am not a one and done person- chicken in waffles are in my mind now. We were in town dealing with a serious family illness. A great meal can't solve unhappiness, but it can certainly help brighten things up momentarily. Our experience at 421 was such a bright moment in a dreary week. Our server told us he was new and just starting to get familiar with the menu, but aside from a little awkwardness (which we found charming) he was like a pro. We were brought a complementary play of fried pimento cheese balls, which were fabulous. My meal, the daily special of pork, was incredible. My boyfriend ordered a shrimp angel hair dish that was almost as good. The prices seemed great, but we are from overpriced Maine, so who are we to judge ‍ We would definitely recommend! read more

Our friends like it so we went again for Brunch. Their idea of Huevos rancheros is burned fried eggs on top of lots (lots) of cubed potatoes a little onion, tomato, maybe 1 slice of green pepper. Oh and more potatoes did I mention that. Had to borrow salsa and guacamole from friend who got it with fancy pancakes and eggs?? 3 small tortillas added which I guess made it Mexican?? BAIT AND SWITCH at it's best...Called and was told THAT's The Price Now, if you don't like it you can cancel the order. Very Horrible Customer Service. The Turkey was overcooked, dry and uber salty. My wife and I drove down to Carolina Beach last weekend and got caught in the 421 afternoon rush. I was getting hungry so I asked her to just find somewhere close. We went into Junction 421. The menu is super simple and our waitress said everything is prepared fresh. So I started with the fresh made spinach and artichoke dip served with crisp toast points. I have to tell you it was a good as I have ever had. Super fresh and you could tell from the robustness of flavor. I then ordered the fish and chips which were in a beer batter and very flackery. My wife had the daily special. A stuffed pork chop. The place was very family friendly and the atmosphere was casual as well. The over all vibe was just a great neighborhood feel. I overheard someone asking for a special burger that they no longer had on the menu but the waitress asked and the chef said yea. That's my kind of place. They offer everything from seafood to a good burger. If you get down to Carolina Beach stop by it's just off college on your way. Loved it, made reservations and had no problems changing from inside to out. Our server, Primo, was attentive, polite and very helpful. As we were newcomers, we were offered a complimentary appetizer, fried pimento cheese, which was tasty and definitely a treat. Appetizers were great, our friends got calamari, we got fried oysters, all delicious. Hubby just missed out on the stuffed pork chop, but ordered the short rib pasta, devoured it. Love this place! Friendly servers, great food, and the outdoor dining is lovely with heaters, hanging lights, and a waterfall. It's also dog-friendly if you're dining on the porch. My husband, son and I have eaten here twice this month and the food never disappoints. The kids meal pizza is large enough to feed two and SO good! Made brick-oven style. Luckily my little boy doesn't mind sharing a slice with me. I had the special last night which was angel hair pasta with shrimp, crabmeat, mushrooms, spinach and tomatoes in a lemon-butter sauce. Went here again tonight. One of my favs when I am in town. The Salmon with succotash was to die for. The wedge salad was excellent and the pimento balls were a perfect appetizer. Stopped by on a Friday night. Didn't look very busy, but busier than the establishment that was there before new ownership took over. Prices for the entrees seemed okay. Family ordered salads to start with. Entrees hit the table before the salads. Only slightly disappointed. Each person ordered the 421 chicken. For 18$ I expected more than a small, over cooked chicken breast with a scoop of mash potatoes. No manager approached our table to ask about our dining experience. Originally from Charlotte, where everything is overpriced. Based on the price, quality, and quantity, this establishment is worth a one and only visit. read more

Great service. Excellent atmosphere. We ordered the blueberry smash cocktail which was very good. My only complaint would be the beer cheese was a bit cold and too thick for our pretzel appetizer even though the pretzel was steaming hot and delicious. Brussels sprouts app was great and crunchy. We ordered two burgers. Mine I ordered a Carolina burger med-rare and it came out well done, unfortunately. Still enjoyable with the saucy pimento cheese and fried onions on top. Fries were good. My wife ordered the double smash burger and enjoyed it, she did say she felt like it wasn't worth quite the $17 price tag. But the pumpkin crème brûlée dessert was to die for. Obviously this restaurant had very big shoes to fill after the closing of OC. I was very unimpressed with their food selection and drink menu. The interior was very off brand and seemed like a mix between a sports bar and steakhouse. I think this area could benefit from having a high quality steakhouse since there aren't any on this side of town. Service was great, but the food was okay at best. Not worth the price for burgers and flatbread pizza. I have no plans on returning. Sad to see the OC gone. read more

We frequent many restaurants in the Wilmington area and Junction 421 was one of the best. Our experience started with a phone call to the restaurant to ask about reservations. The hostess was friendly and upbeat with fantastic people skills. Then arriving to the restaurant was such a treat, what a beautiful place with great decor. The manager Thomas welcomed us and had a conversation with us before even being seated at our table. Our server Brandon was knowledgeable, attentive and had great menu recommendations. We also had a wonderful visit from the owner Jonathan. He was welcoming and truly the king of hospitality. Now the food, we had crab dip as an appetizer. 421 chicken and flounder Oscar for our entrees. I can't compliment the food enough. Absolutely delicious!! The food was simply amazing. The manager met us at the front and talked with us. The service was so amazingly good. Me and my son got a burger and it was cooked so perfectly I almost cried while I was eating it. My niece got bacon wrapped tenderloin..well I think I had u at bacon.lol. my other two kids had pizza and it was redicoulos. The food and appetizers came fast which is a added bonus with a 11 yr old, 16 yr old, and 2 yr old. Please eat here. It's a little pricey but when I got done eating I felt like I still owed them money because it was so so so good. .if I had more stars I would use them. This was our first time visiting this restaurant as a family. It was early on a Friday night and we were 4 adults and 2 children. The food was delicious and decently quantities. The Fish & Chips was a delicious nicely battered haddock. The burger was juicy and done to perfection. The kids Mac n cheese was nicely done and the chicken tenders were fresh not frozen. This is a long overdue review but awhile back, prior to covid (yeah, it's been that longgg) I ate here with some family and we all were very happy with our food. Crab dip was very good and creamy. The 421 chicken is so tasty and refreshingly good. It's not too heavy but still fills you up. I will say that I did get the chicken alfredo to go for my bf at the time and he didn't like it and it was a bit bland but he's my ex now so idc about his experience here, mine was still five star! read more

My family and I have been to Junction now several times and we are YET to have a meal that wasn't absolutely delicious. The steaks are always cooked just like they are ordered, the sandwiches and burgers have been good every time and the specials always live up to their billing! And as good as the food is, the service is just as amazing. The servers are very helpful and the management is as top-notch as any we've ever experienced. The managers are super friendly too!
