We went for our 37th anniversary and we enjoyed the food very much. The service was a little slow but still didn't let it ruin our night.

Too bad there aren't more stars to give this place. We went there for my birthday celebration and I was not disappointed. From start to finish, it was perfect. I had the prime rib, wedge salad and mashed potatoes. Everything could have been shareable. The prime rib was one of the best I've ever had. My date had the rib eye and he said it was fantastic! The service was outstanding. All staff were wearing masks and gloves. Attention to detail was spot on. I have been there before pre-Covid and the cigarette smoke was obnoxious. They have since made it a smoke free venue. What a difference that makes. It's a bit on the pricey side but worth every penny highly recommend it and making reservations. Great meal. Steak was a wonderful surprise. Service wasn't the best but it wasn't bad. We shared a baked potato and mushrooms.

Food is fine, had the same server both times and she was great, but that is about all that I found positive. We were treated like lowlifes by a very young hostess. We had reserved a private room for a birthday party. At no time were we told that our entire party had to be there before they would seat anyone. When we arrived the hostess (who we had made the reservation with in person the day before) had no memory of us whatsoever and then proceeded to tell us that she couldn't seat us until our entire party was there. We explained that we could understand if it were a table, but no one else was using the room anyway. Then she said that they were very busy. We said we were OK with no service until everyone arrived, but could we at least be seated in our private room. Again she refused. At this point I did start to get pretty upset, and she started pushing back at me telling me to stop talking to her like that. We did go to the room and I asked to see the manager, who also was more focused on how busy she was than how we felt. She basically blamed us for everything. She did stop by later and we told her everything was OK, but I still think at least comping my husband a dessert for his birthday would have been a nice gesture. In summary, we had originally made reservations at Ruth's Chris Steakhouse but my husband got sick and we had to reschedule his party. I think I can say with a lot of confidence that this would not have happened there, in fact I think they would have started seating people as they arrived even at a regular table. The prices are comparable, Juniper may be a bit more reasonable, but I guess you get what you pay for. There needs to me a lot more training in customer service. The people I spoke with were way more concerned with themselves than the customers. Overall our party had a nice time, but I am very upset with the way I was treated. I have also reached out to them over the website to discuss this further but have not had a response, which I guess isn't surprising either. read more

Honestly I was very skeptical in dining as I was pretty sure that this steakhouse wouldn't be up to my level of a quintessential dining experience and I was sooooooooo wrong. The level of quality is superb, from the creative appetizers to the freshness of their croissant bread is so scrumptious. Avocado tempura appetizer and French onion soup omgoodness they are taking me on so many levels of deliciousness. Our entree's were cooked to perfection and the plating & presentation was powerful and accentuated my foods beautiful sexy qualities. It was also a wonderful experience to meet one of the most humble and down to earth Chef's "Patrick" who is from the east coast who is bringing his "A" game to the 505. Well gave Juniper another shot this weekend and this is how it went. Sat at the bar and was craving prime rib so as I was waiting to order the bartender was taking the order of the couple next to me and they were ordering PR as well when the bartender told them the only way it was available was med or med well. I asked why was that and the chef heard me and decided to answer. He states that it was only available medium or well because he had been cooking it all day and that's what happens when you cook it all day. lol I promptly canceled my drink order and walked out. If you don't know how to cook you should get out of the Restaurant business. What a joke!!!!!! This place never fails to disappoint complete disaster at every food or drink place in the casino. Do yourself a favor and go anywhere else and thank me later. read more

Oh how I wish I could rave about this restaurant. But it just isn't worth the prices they charge. Don't get me wrong the food at Juniper was good but no different than going to Longhorn Steakhouse which would cost half the price. Could you at least give me the illusion of a pricey restaurant?? Like tablecloths? I do wish there was a dress code but that's not worth complaining. Our bill was over $160 for two. We only had 1 drink each, shared an appetizer, 2 steaks plus one side to share which are $7 each (seriously?? Even Vernon's Speakeasy includes two sides at similar prices!). No dessert even though I indicated twice on our reservation it was our anniversary. (For $160, a small serving of cheese cake would have been a kind gesture). I know it's been tough for restaurants this past year and a half. In fact this was our first time out to celebrate an occasion. Wanting to have a special date night at a special restaurant we dressed for just that. Boy were we in for a surprise, again more of an Outback Steakhouse feel. Juniper isn't special. Juniper was recommended to my wife by one of her patients, telling her it was the best meal he ever had. I am always skeptical of hype like this since I am from New York and lived in Las Vegas, both of which are culinary meccas. We arrived early for our date and were greeted enthusiastically by the hosts, and seated shortly. Our server, Gina, was friendly and bubbly. As an aside, we went to Golden Pride for breakfast burritos in the morning and they got the order wrong. Now at the opposite end of the day, at Juniper, Gina also got one part of the order wrong. What is it with the low attention span in this state?? Specifically I asked for a baked potato for my vegan wife with just chives. What did we get? A loaded potato with everything BUT chives--the complete opposite of what we ordered. I ordered the classic blue crab cocktail that was underwhelming. I had the 18 oz. bone-in rib-eye for my main with peppercorn sauce on the side. I ordered it medium rare but it was more towards medium. The steak was presented with some reduction covering the steak, which would clash with the peppercorn sauce I ordered. Had I known the steak came with a reduction I would have eschewed the peppercorn sauce. My wife had the avocado tempura which was tasty. The star of the dish was the slaw. We also shared the grilled asparagus which were great! We didn't have dessert. We were thanked on the way out as cheerily as when we arrived. Regarding the ambiance, my wife loved the decor as she is from the Southwest. There were a lot of empty tables. We were dressed up for a date night but I saw people with sweatpants and shorts seated, and one older gent with a baseball cap. In essence, we had a good time and a few tweaks in the service and food described above would elevate Juniper in my opinion. read more

I will begin by saying that there is plenty of potential for the food. Nothing was perfect but there were things done well. What Juniper Steakhouse did well: -atmosphere, the restaurant itself looks quite nice -food times, everything arrived in a timely manner -food mostly looked and tasted from passable to good. I would say the food here is above average but in my opinion it is missing the final details to really deserve the price point and make sure people come back; which leads to my next section. Where the food went wrong: I will start with the most egregious moment that really motivated this review in general. the Creme Brûlée. The dessert is where you can have your redemption. Any sour moment of service or any errors with food or ticket times can be erased if you make a good dessert. This dessert did quite the opposite. As most of you will know a creme brûlée's signature is the dark crunchy caramel that is brûléed on top of the custard. It takes anywhere from 15-30 seconds depending on the are. When it arrived to the table I immediately grabbed my spoon and went to crack the topping. Debatably the best part of eating this dessert. My spoon sank through without a sound. This only happens when the caramel absorbs moisture from the custard; which means that after being torched the creme brûlée was left to sit for at least an hour in advance and the caramel became soggy and crystalized. A tragedy. With that out of the way I will breeze through the rest. King Salmon came with a beautifully crispy and browned skin. Then they garnished it with bland sweated onion peppers and microgreens on a pile on top of the skin, leaving behind a chewy soggy spot. You ruined your hard work with a bland unnecessary garnish. Steak was beautifully seared and perfectly cooked but was not rested long enough resulting in a puddle of greasy steak juice on the plate. (Delicious don't get me wrong but it doesnt look great.) Béarnaise Sauce was cold and under-seasoned as well as had a suspicious taste that I couldn't identify but it didn't taste like fresh tarragon. (Although that was included in the sauce as well.) All in all, the food is just a leap away from being great. If the tiny details don't bother you, then this is still an above average restaurant in the area. Hopefully the future will bring those final tweaks into fruition. I would torch the dessert to order though.. read more

For our anniversary, my partner took me to dinner here. We started with calamari followed by lamb chops with celery root purée and a mint Demi glaze ( pictured below). The place is neat, clean, spacious. The staff is friendly and courteous. We'll be back for more. read more

Had a bowling tournament upstairs and was meeting friends here for dinner afterwards. We had a reservation and were immediately seated once it was time. It's a medium size establishment with separate bar seating area from the main dining area. Unfortunately, I don't recall our servers name, but he was quick to approach us once we were seated to take drink orders. We placed our orders and I can easily say that no one should leave here hungry afterwards. We all ordered the Queen size prime rib with different sides each. I opted for the grilled asparagus, and my friends ordered loaded baked potato and sautéed mushrooms. All of our prime ribs were prepared exactly the way we requested. And the sides, were good too; in fact, I've never tasted sautéed mushrooms like this before. They were seasoned so well, not sure what they did to them but, I could just order a couple of those as a meal...so full of flavor and good size. The server (gentleman) was so friendly, attentive and professional, it kills me that I couldn't name him, because he deserves all the recognition I could bestow upon him. Needles to say, we all left with food to take home. In fact, I look forward to the next time (most like next year for the annual bowling tournament) to comeback and dine here for one of my meals. While it is on the pricey side, it is well worth the food and dining experience. read more

We were staying at the hotel and made a reservation at the restaurant for Monday night. Three of the five people in our group had eaten here previously and spoke favorably. The service was atrocious and essentially our server ghosted us. A group of four was seated next to us about 15 minutes after we arrived and received their food and left before we were ever served. We literally received our entrees 90 minutes after we ordered them and our waitress was nowhere to be found to inquire about the status. The entrees (steak and fish) were over cooked and our suspicion is that they had been sitting under a warmer for 30 minutes. Our waitress failed to ask us how our food was because she knew. I went to go eat here yesterday and stayed at the host stand for a good while. I went way before closing time, 7/730. Yet no one greated me. I finally went into the bar and just thought it was a seat yourself sort of deal. Another couple came and asked if it was seat wherever and then I see the two young kiddos sitting ar the bar go to the host stand and automatically I knew they were the hosts. They sat the couple and then went back to the bar. One was behind, so maybe he was a bartender keeping track of the other one. Who knows. But once the girl passed me I almost gagged with the smell. Personal hygiene is a must people!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I definitely dont want to smell that before I eat a $57 meal. Gross and so unprofessional. I hate to give this place such a bad review since the older bartender was really nice and the food was also tasty. Steak a little over cooked but it wass delicious. I probably won't be back since the whole smell. How can someone represent a fine dining smelling so...ripe. I get grossed out thinking about that smell. read more

Priced like a fine steak house with nice people out front, but inept chefs who can't deliver on a rare ribeye. Staging and bussing were all off. Decent ambiance for a casino. Sent back the steak only to get a smaller one done the same way. Left our sides out to get cold while we waited for our steak. Not impressed. Gave us a dessert to go, but we are staying in another hotel and don't have a way to heat up a cold bread pudding. Nice folks though. read more

I had reservations coming here based on older reviews... Wow. The new chef as of February has taken this place and brought it to a whole new level. Steaks were cooked to perfection, perfect sear! Brussels sprouts were that perfect crispness with soft center... Desert was incredible. The pine nut tart was unusual and so, so good. Had a great time shooting the breeze with chef when he stopped by the table to see if we enjoyed the food. All around great experience. We will be back! read more

Maybe it's my fault for not ordering a steak at a steakhouse, but we did not enjoy our entrées. I ordered the sea bass and it was over cooked and cold. After reading the reviews we went to dinner last Saturday. We were disappointed on many levels. Had reserved ahead for a quiet table, they set us in a corner booth - great; EXCEPT the wall was open to the bar and we had to ask to be moved. Our waitress was nice, but not professional. Rather than describing a dish she just kept telling us how much she liked it. This is not good staff training. Our food was average to poor - had a caesar salad, the lettuce was fresh but it was very average with little flavor and no presentation. My husband ordered the scalloped potatoes, tasted like frozen chunky potatoes in a heavy cheese sauce - almost inedible. We both had fish, the trout was very average and my sea bass was almost raw in the middle. They did a VERY good martini - go to the bar for a drink but skip the meal, it is not "fine dinning" which the prices suggest. read more

Worst dining experience ever! Our waitress Bertie ruined our Christmas dinner with our family. Two of our entrees came just before everyone else in our party finished eating. My drink never did get refilled during the meal. Waited for 30 minutes after our table was cleared before I finally got the manager and asked if we could get our bill so we could leave. Another 15 minutes before he came back, and then the bills were all wrong. Lots of people waiting to get in the restaurant while we waited. Manager never tried to make things right after everything we went through. Never going back! read more

Our experience here in January was good, but not amazing. The bread they served before the meal was heavenly! Our appetizers, drinks, and dessert were wonderful, but the steak was just okay. This place only opened the beginning of July 2018 and is absolutely fantastic. For a casino restaurant, it's very moderately priced. Nick the bartender was friendly and poured an awesome martini. French onion soup was outstanding. But the best part, the king cut prime rib. I've eaten lots of steaks but this one ranked among the best. Tender, juicy, and cooked just right and for a great price. For a restaurant that just opened and usually has some kinks to work out, the service was outstanding! Well done! read more

We had eaten here just after they had opened a few years ago (before the pandemic) and were disappointed in the quality of the steaks and the fact that our medium rare steaks were severely overcooked. We decided to meet some friends for dinner yesterday, hoping our first dining was just due to being so new. First I want to say that I loved the atmosphere and the large oversized table! And our server was top notch! But the food, lack of flexibility and concern for the customers requests by management were a deal breaker for me. We had reservations for an early dinner at 4 pm on a Sunday. When we arrived about 15 minutes early, the hostess refused to seat us, advising that they had not yet begun sitting for dinner. When we explained that we just wanted to have a glass of wine while we waited on our friends, she still refused to allow us to sit down, even though the restaurant was nearly empty. When we were finally able to sit down we found our server very helpful, professional, and attentive. My husband and I ordered prime rib and asked to have it divided so we could share. The server told us that the kitchen would not divide it for us and that he would bring us an extra plate so that we could divide it ourselves. We have dined at many high end steak houses and our requests to split a meal have never been denied so I was pretty surprised and disappointed. We asked that our steak be prepared medium rare. When the steak arrived, we found that once again it had been overcooked to medium well with no pink in evidence! The server had brought only 1 container of au jus and when asked if he could bring another container, he said that he would have to charge extra! All we wanted was an empty container so that my husband could share his au jus with me. The mashed potatoes were pretty flavorless and our friends said that the Bob Evans mashed potatoes from grocery store were much superior. The food was far below our expectations for the price and the lack of flexibility and efforts by management to cater to the very reasonable requests of their guests was really disappointing. I do not fault our server or the hostess, but rather policies of the management that discourage the staff from being more accommodating to their customers. read more

If you enjoy discrimination this is just the place for you! We went in to go enjoy a meal and had just left the fair. We weren't dressed to the 9, but we weren't dumpy either. The casino didn't seem to have a dress code judging by the attire that was worn in the casino. It was also during lunch, so we figured we would be okay. I had a dress on and my husband had his harem pants on. We had a lot of color on and we dress a little weird for some. I am Mexican and my husband is Caucasian/Cherokee. The woman at the hostess area asked if we had a reservation, we didn't, we thought we could eat at the bar. We've been to steak houses in Las Vegas, Texas, Chicago. We understand how it works. The girl looked at us and said if there was availability we could eat at the bar. There were 3 tables with people in the dining area and all of the tables were available in the bar area. They had 2 people at the bar top and the rest of the bar top was empty. We said, "Sure we would be happy to sit in the bar." She looked surprised and said, to hang on that she had to see if there was any availability there. She came back with her manager, who waited by hostess area. She said there wasn't any availability now but we could wait 30 minutes or wait until 8pm for a regular table. There was literally space and availability everywhere. They acted like we weren't welcome there and made us feel like we needed to leave. My husband is a 100% disabled veteran, I'm so glad he fought for this country so that we could be discriminated against. read more
