I have mixed feeling to be honest. The person who did my hair was very sweet which made this review…read morehard to write. My hair came out pretty, but it wasn't what I asked for. - Cut: The layers weren't done well so it sort of resembles a long mullet at times...kind of a mushroom shape effect. Feels like I have only 2 layers I'm descent with hair so can mask it a bit with curls. - The highlights are fine but they are old school/ going to root all over and not the ballyage effect I asked for. That said, they were blended nicely. - The color is red/orange which bothers me more than the cut. I said multiple times I didnt want red or warm... my whole head, not just the highlights, got toned a fairly strong red hugh. I invested in blue and purple shampoos trying to tone it down. It helped a bit. I did give her feedback but I don't want to go back to get it fixed because I've been back once already and I'm not confident in her ability to fix it at this point. She did offer to try again. I think i gotta wait this one out a few months and then get a trim and/or tone from someone else. Facility was cute and clean, free parking out back. Waited a month to give the review as I wanted to give it time to settle in.

This can be hard to do, especially since I have ethnic hair and about a decade of vivids, henna color, and other experiments in my hair. I came in with blue and purple fun hair. This is my hair after two sessions and she's done a great job delivering on Grey blending. She found an ashy beige that would work with blending in with my silvers. She really understands color. Rizza also has very chill energy and listens to your requests. I also needed to handle personal medical stuff during my appointment and she was very helpful about it.

I have short hair--specifically what they call a two-block haircut, made popular by male Korean pop stars--and I was afraid that I couldn't perfectly describe what I wanted in terms of color or how I wanted the end result to look like. I want to achieve either a dark gray or a light gray depending on which one looks better with my skin tone. And I didn't want just standard highlights; I wanted to dye the the crown of my head and not the shorter hair underneath. And Maybellene came through! Let me tell you, Maybellene is a godsend! She's got tons of experience working with hair dyes and she's also got experience cutting hair too! Plus, she's a SWEETHEART to boot! What more could you want in a hair dresser?!? Maybelleneis very patient and I wasn't afraid to ask her any questions I had about the process, what she was putting in my hair, or questions I have about aftercare. She also doesn't try to suggest things unless you've specifically asked for her recommendations. So whatever color you want, whatever style you want it in, she'll do her best to achieve and you won't be disappointed! Because I have short hair and Maybellene's only dyeing the crown portion of my head, she was fair about pricing with me and posted it at $80/session without the tip. Please tip your hair dressers!!! Especially if they did a bangin' job! So far I've only gotten one bleaching session done out of three to get down to the gray I want, so I'll keep updating as we go along!
