These guys do Demolition work too! Okay, so yes, Junk Removal 911 will haul away your old stuff (just like the other guys). But where they really stand out, in my opinion is the fact that they do demo work! Situation: My girlfriend and I wanted to remodel a 2-bedroom condo in the Gold coast. The floors were brand new, but the previous owner used very cheap laminate and made some bad design choices. We started asking around for quotes and found the biggest cost driver to be ripping up and hauling away the old floors and sub-flooring. I figured there had to be a better way to get the job done... and then I found Junk Removal 911 and Max. Here's how the company differentiated itself - from the very first call. 1. They're Responsive: Max, the owner, actually answered our first call personally. 2. They're Courteous: Max agreed to an initial walk through meeting and showed up before we did (which was on time). 3. They're Reasonable: He quoted the work on the spot and pointed out potential problem areas (we asked for complete removal of all the flooring throughout the unit, including removal of ceramic tile flooring in the bathroom). The quote was so reasonable, we asked for additional demo of a small closet we felt was unnecessary and was robbing us of a larger dining room. Price for the closet removal... in the low double digits. Score! 4. They're Insured: We received and filed all of Max's insurance paperwork the same day, which allowed us to file with the building, set a reserve date on the elevators and lock him in to a work date. 5. They're Fast: The work date arrived, the crew was in the unit and 2 hours later... our dining room gained several square feet of unused space; all of the laminate from our 1,100 square foot unit was stripped down to the cement; and everything was hauled away. There were no surprise charges, the quote came in as promised, and our tile installer was extremely happy with the work site Junk Removal 911 left behind for him. I was told they would be there between 9-9:30. They actually showed up a few minutes early and were in and out in under 10 minutes. The price I was quoted over the phone ($85) was what I was charged. I had an old sofa & over stuffed chair that I needed to get rid of before moving (not in good enough shape to sell or donate). I called to get a quote and was told $100 to remove them. That seemed reasonable enough given that I had no other alternative and my apartment building would charge me at least $150 had I left them by the dumpster. I made an appointment for Monday morning and received a call about 15 minutes before the appointment to let me know they were on the way. The guys showed up at the appointment time, almost on the dot. They removed the couch & chair and even took a big area rug and a few smaller rugs that I hadn't originally specified when I called to make the appointment. The price was $100 exactly as quoted. I had this outfit remove a loveseat from my apartment. Reservation process was easy and during the day of removal, they called me to see if I was home and if they could come earlier (I wasn't). They ended up coming right on time and removal took around 10 minutes. Very nice guys who seemed keen to get good revies on sites like Yelp. Only possibly negative thing I have to say is the price. They charged me $120 to remove my loveseat, which is not a very large piece of furniture. However, I didn't shop around for a price, so I have no idea how this would compare to other guys.
