We took my niece to dinner for her high school graduation dinner with the family and had a blast. We weren't the only large group that night either. I have never been to a hibachi place before and was I in for a treat. The way the chef made that volcano onion then tossed shrimp perfectly onto the plate! Had a craving for sushi and decided to stop by Junos. We are so pleased that we decided to eat here, the food was amazing not just tasty but aesthetically pleasing. We both had drinks the hot sake is perfect and the Sapporo is crisp in a cold glass. I also really loved the traditional decor so cute all around. OMG! Best.Sushi.Ever! We came here on a Sunday and it wasn't too crowded plus there is free parking which is always a plus. The restaurant itself is perfectly decorated and service is wonderful! We had the Uptown Funk and Easy On Me sushi rolls and they were the best I've had! I also ordered the filet mignon hibachi grill entrée with vegetables and fried rice and really enjoyed it. On Dec. 6, I stopped by this place for dinner on my way home back to Ohio. I should've known better that you should never eat sushi or "fresh" seafood for that matter in this part of the country especially when you're in a state that doesn't border the ocean. I ordered an appetizer, the baked mussels. Upon delivery, the presentation was a bit questionable. The surfaces of the 5 mussels were charred, like as if someone had taken a blow torch to them. I was like, okay maybe that's how they make them here. I popped one of the mussels in my mouth and chewed on it and was like, is it suppose to taste this way? Charred, a little rubbery? On top of it, it wasn't as hot as it should be since I've eaten a lot of baked mussels before and this by far was unusual. So, I took another mussel and I got the same outcome as the first, but since I swallowed two, my brain already was trying to register the confusion I was processing and the weird tastes. I decided not to go any further in tasting the mussels and took one of the mussels and felt it with my fingers underneath where the mussel was resting on its shell - it was COLD as well as the others. They were not properly cooked! The gentleman that was serving my table came to my table and asked how the mussels were and I said they were awful! They were not properly cooked! I asked to see the GM and he claimed he IS the General Manager. I asked him if this is how you guys typically make baked mussels. His reply was that the oven was not properly cooking the mussels or some sort. In other words, he was making up excuses why they weren't cooked right (after all, I did notice the service bringing out the dishes were a little slow and I suppose since it was taking long, the chef probably decided to take a short cut)! I told him they look like the chef put a blow torch to the top of the mussels to try and "cook" them faster. Long story short, he said they cooked them for only 5 min. In the oven! I said, "What!? ONLY 5 min.!?" At that point I told him I'm actually a certified health inspector/food safety auditor. His demeanor changed and began apologizing and offering to make another dish for me at no cost. I told him you cannot be cooking seafood just for 5 minutes! The mussels must be cooked to 155*F, not cooked for just 5 minutes or you'll get people sick or worse killed! I told him, I already had swallowed down two mussels before I realized there was something wrong! I better not get sick! Luckily, I didn't get sick later that night, but after I immediately walked out of the restaurant, I went straight to Starbucks and ordered a latte (since the hot milk will coat my stomach and lessen the pain of food poisoning if I came down with one later) and I also ate a coffee cake to help absorb any poison. I will be notifying the local health department of my experience with this restaurant. NEVER EAT SEAFOOD OR SUSHI WHEN YOU ARE THOUSANDS OF MILES FROM THE NEAREST OCEAN. Best to eat seafood/sushi on the West Coast states or East Coast and Gulf states! Take a good look at the picture I uploaded! Do those look like baked mussels!? read more

We've been going g to the same hibachi place for years now, so thought we'd change it up. Ended up at Juno mostly because we were already in Springhurst. Anyway. This place is deceivingly big. The restaurant doesn't seem very large but their hibachi section is gigantic. I enjoyed the food, and our chef did a good job. He busted out a few tricks Ive never seen, and that was cool. The menu had a lot of things I e never seen on the hibachi menu--calamari and swordfish are the two I remember. I'm sure the sushi is good but I can't vouch firsthand. This was our second time at Juno. Our first was at the hibachi. Tonight we ate in the main restaurant area adjacent to the sushi bar. One of my favorite things about Juno, is the menu options. It is not a difficult menu to navigate, but still has a wide variety of Japanese cuisine. From noodle dishes like Tonkatsu Ramen (which I had this visit and loved it), Yakisoba, shrimp Udon ( my son had this and it was fantastic), to a wide variety of sushi, and thankfully a fairly nice selection of raw sushi rolls, nigiri, and sashimi, as well as fried rolls for those who are new still to the idea of eating fish raw. There are also hibachi item on the menu such as the Hibachi Calamari , which was also amazing. The other thing I love about Juno is the style and decor. It is so well thought out, and perfectly executed. It is very Japanese in style, and there is plenty of seating and lots of room for plenty of customers. Absolutely our go to with the ability to get a bowl of ramen along with a side of yellowtail and white tuna sashimi. I have to say that the freshness, taste, texture and temperature of the sashimi was exquisite. Especially for being in a landlocked state so far from the ocean. Fantastic quality! I must add too, that our server Jocelyn was excellent, and on top of our every need. We hope that we can sit with her again in our next visit. She was super friendly and greatly enhanced our dining experience. Thanks Jocelyn! We really cannot recommend Juno enough. This will be our default sushi joint going forward. read more

Was in town for meetings and Juno was next-door to my hotel. I walked over the first thing I noticed was the parking lot was really empty. It was about 7:45 PM, but still expected more gas than what I was saying. Based on the previous yelp reviews, I decided to still give it a try. Their servers were a little slow especially since the restaurant was empty. I ordered steak and shrimp hibachi. The Asian salad was good but may be a little bit too much dressing. My entrée was a little different than I have had at other Japanese restaurant. One thing I did like was, it was not extremely oily as I experience before, it was pretty good. The vegetables were cooked perfectly. The fried rice only had onions in it and was a little starchy for brown rice. Overall, it was a pretty good meal. Just not sure if I would come back. read more

My spider roll was falling apart whenever I tried to pick up a piece. The taste was fine but nothing special. The salmon and cream cheese roll was better but again nothing special. Whenever our extended family gets together, anywhere from 11-15 of us with kiddo's included, we typically try to find a good hibachi place. It's been our "thing" for family reunions when we want to spend some time together without cooking. I've lived in Louisville for almost 7 years now and have only tried a couple of hibachi places in town and found both of them lacking. So it's been several years here since I last tried to find one for the family. We'd hit up hibachi in other cities but I thought Louisville was just not going to 'scratch that itch' for us. I'll be honest, I've seen this place for years, tucked behind the Walmart off of Chamberlain and Westport. And it hardly ever had anyone in the parking lot, even on busy weekends, which doesn't fare well for an establishment like this. But a neighbor said the place was under new ownership as of recent, and they liked it. So I took a party of 12 here for an early evening dinner after axe throwing. In a word: OUTSTANDING. Service was top notch, there's an -amazing- number of hibachi tables in this place, everything is clean and you aren't crammed into the tables elbow to elbow. The hibachi chef was up to the normal expected cooking show with flips, fire and stuff, the kids got their oooos and ahhhhhs. And the food was really, really good. Several of us ordered sashimi appetizers and a couple of rolls and they were all excellent, and the steaks were cooked perfectly, along with the variety of chicken and seafood combos. They are generous portions as well, and although you get the standard fried rice and vegetables, even that was cooked perfectly and with care. They were also running a special of penny ($0.01) small sake that night, topping off a great outing. Looks can be deceiving, and Louisville is about as landlocked (other than the Ohio river) as you can get. But being a UPS hub, we get fresh seafood flown in daily and as such little gems like this can exist here. So don't discount their location. This a fantastic hibachi place. They also have a nice little bar and some non-hibachi seating for other Japanese dishes. The menu is extensive beyond just hibachi fare and you'll definitely find the welcoming service to your liking. We will be back! read more

I saw mixed reviews so I was a bit hesitant to try it out, but I must say this lunch was delicious! I got the Tonkotsu ramen, a side of scallops, and a salad. I just wanted a light but filling lunch, and it was very tasty. The scallops were cooked perfectly, super juicy and a great sear on them. I forgot to take a picture of them, because they looked so tempting. The ramen was very flavorful, had a juicy bit of pork, and perfect soft boiled egg. The side salad was your typical hibachi side salad, but even it was perfectly done. The service was attentive and super friendly. My only complaint might be, the restaurant itself needs a bit of a facelift, so for that I take off one star. The food itself was delicious however, and I will definitely be back. read more

Friendly Sushi Chefs who do not shy away from having a conversation while they fix you up some amazing food. The atmosphere is very welcoming and a perfect place for date night. My wife & I recently moved to Louisville from Los Angeles CA, and can say we were initially reluctant eating sushi this far from either coast. Glad we took a leap of faith because their tuna, albacore and salmon is some of the best we've had in a long time. We also have tried both their hot & cold sake. Highly recommend their cold peach & lychee flavored sakes. Lastly, their Ramen is top notch and perfect for this cold weather season. Very comforting & flavorful. read more

We were very well take care of and sushi rolls were so yummy! I got the bento sushi box and was very happy with the food, EXCEPT for the squid salad. It's not easy to find great Sushi in our area but this just became one of our go-to spots! The sushi menu is so varied and creative. We ordered 3 rolls : Kiss on my List, The Godfather, and Juno, all were delicious with Kiss being my favorite followed closely by Juno! Can't wait to go back and try more! read more
