This place has really good food but their time management sucks, i called at 5:45pm on a Wednesday to place an order for take out and i told them i would pick it up at 6:30, that gives them 45 minutes to make it, I get there right at 6:30 and i didn't get my food until 6:50. It doesn't take 1 hour to cook 36 wings and 2 pizzas, this is not the first time either. They really need to get it together here, customer service is trash. And please hire some more decent people to work there who actually understand what customer service is. And on top of all that, they don't even know how to properly put toppings on pizza. Was very disappointed in my experience here tonight. Ordered a large pizza, the crust was overcooked and dry. When taking a bite of the pizza the bottom would crumble into pieces like chips. Wings were cold and overly cooked, they had no sauce on them. When picking up my order the staff at the register seemed angry and inconvenienced, made no communication. When I asked for a side of wing sauce she seemed frustrated as her system went down on her and she mumbled "ugh fuck" and went and got me a side of wing sauce. I've been going to this place forever and it's been one of my favorite places to eat, But they have really gone downhill in the last few years. Every time I come into town they mess up my order. You can tell them whatever you want, and they will just do whatever they want, and you'll get what you get. The moral of the story is check your food before you leave unless you're the type of person who really enjoys a good surprise. read more

Unfortunately since this place has moved the food has fell off. Me and my family would stop here to eat everytime we travel through from Sacramento to Visalia. We were a bit disappointed as their wings were smaller and a little overcooked, pizza seemed a little different as well. It could have been because we stopped in on a busy NFL Sunday afternoon. We may give it one more shot, I'll be paying close attention to future reviews. Came here for the first time last weekend and had a great time with our huge family. They accommodated my cousin's reservation request for her son's birthday. I loved the crunchy pizza crust, the wings were well done which is perfect for me and I enjoyed the sauce bottles on the side that you can squeeze onto your wings. The fries were pretty good as well. The only negative thing was them running out of syrup for one of the soda flavors. Not having it stocked to refill. Other than that, we were all content. read more

I thought I was in an episode of Restaurant Nightmares when I walked in, and that was after stepping over the half-empty cup of beer in the parking lot. The restaurant is in a split-level building and there is not signage to tell you whether to walk up or downstairs when you come in. That was Red Flag #1. The smell of the whole place was terrible, dank and musty. You should walk into a pizza place and smell wonderful aromas that build your appetite. This was Red Flag #2. When we made it to the main dining area and sat at one of the large, cafeteria style tables I noticed the booths. Oh, the booths. The booths were furnished with one upholstered bench but then had a plastic picnic table and four folding chairs opposite the bench. Really? BIG Red Flag #3. The "waitress" brought us a stack of plastic cups that were still wet and stacked together. Certainly not how you want to store those or deliver them to the table. Red Flag #4. By this point, I should have walked out. Then she took our order by grabbing one of our napkins to write on.... The pizza was on a weird cracker crust that was hollow and had no flavor. The toppings were ample and the pricing was standard. But I'm not here to talk about the food. The bathroom. Ok, I get that sports bars don't have the best bathrooms, but they need to be free of graffiti. The walls and stalls were basically covered with tagging from some of their wonderful customers. It reeked and the trash can (a giant 50-gallon can) was 3/4 at 12:30 PM (most likely left over from the night before). I seriously almost threw up. As I walked out, I noticed the door to the bar was being held open with a makeshift door stop, a folded up beer case. Final Red Flag #5. With all of that said, I will never be returning to this restaurant and I will advise all of my friends and family to keep their distance as well. The owner should be embarrassed to have his name on the place and anyone who chooses to return there does so at their own risk. read more

My mother-in-law recommended this place because we are new to town and I'm glad she did! My husband and I loved their pizza. It is the best pizza I have eaten...(no lies) I couldn't believe how delicious the food was. The service was good! The food and wait time was amazing. I really enjoyed the atmosphere as well. We also had a sampler of fried zucchini, jalapeno poppers, onion rings, & wings. It was delicious!! My husband and I are definitely going to keep eating here! read more

Oh no!! I hope Juras didn't losing its touch. Took 3x for the chick to answer the phone right, then she put me on hold 4x. Finally after 8 min, she got the order. Then my pepporoni pizza looks like half cheese pizza too! Pepporoni use to be dumped on, now their excuse was one pepporoni needed to be folded over so it could be on the next piece. WTF? But the reason I go to Juras is for the wings. Turlock is full of hole in the walls. This place although old looking has some of the best chicken wings. The wings are actually fried and then mixed in their special hot wing sauce. Funny how I never ordered the pizza here but just come in for the wings. :) I like mine fried with the sauce on the side. Little man loves the wings here too. He can surely eat all the meat and leave only the bone behind. Now that's what I'm talking about :)! Everything here is reasonably priced. So I havent been to Juras in a while since moving to Merced. Stopped in today at their new location. You go to the bar to order, so I walk up and notice that there are no menus hanging in the bar area. The bartender acts like Im not there at first until she realizes that she has a job to do...I ask her how long they have been at this location and she rudely says 'a year' so then I say I want some wings and how much are they to which she rudely asks 'do you need a menu' yes I do, I mean I suppose she thought I had the menu memorized. I ask for water and she puts up a dirty plastic cup and doesnt tell me where the soda dispensers are at. The only saving grace were the cooks that used to work at the other location. Jura's is a Turlock institution. It's been there for as long as I can remember, serving up the best pizza and wings in town. This place is a throwback to the days when you went to a pizza joint and ate the pizza on site with plenty of pitchers of beer. If you can go there during football season, preferably a Monday Night Football game. The pitchers are cheap and the pizza and wings are hot and fresh all night long. read more

The food is excellent here. The new location... Not so much. When you walk in, a wall of stench hits you. Like an old building with sewage problems kind of stench. OMG! Two words. HOT WINGS... These have got to be the best wings on the plant and that ain't no joke. "Meaty, spicy, and cooked to perfection. The pizza is fresh home style and you can be sure nothing frozen or prepackaged here. This is a great little joint that doesn't waste time being fancy or pretentious. This is one of the few places I HAVE to hit up whenever I'm back in Turlock-- the others are taco truck and my mom's cooking. The service is always super friendly and fast. I always order hot wings and fries, and I usually get more pieces than I order. The fries are the best-- they're the thicker, more potato-y kinda fries.. mmm. The wings could be spicier, but they give you extra sauce to dip. I've only had their pizza once. It was just a simple cheese topping and was too cheesy for my taste, but I'd like to try different toppings next time. The atmosphere's chill, with lots of TV screens for your viewing pleasure. I have been coming to Juras for at least 30 years. I drive from Modesto just to go to Jura's. However in the last year the quality has really taken a hit. A couple of times the pizza dough was white and cold in the middle. The sauce is only in the middle, there is some of the pizza that is just a raised part of dough with nothing on or under it. My last visit the cashier had holes in her clothing and had to ask the cook to help her out of her chair. So he wiped his hands on his red shirt and helped her up. I know this is still a busy business but for how long? I will not be going back. Mountain Mikes is walking distance from my house with a very consistent product so I don't need to drive to Juras anymore. I called to talk to Jura but he never came to the phone. read more

The pizza is good and they know how to fry a chicken wing.... but the place is so dirty. Looks like they never cleaned the place up after they moved in. Cannot return until they do :( too bad to. This place has good food period so if you dont mind the status of the facility go for it Wqs very happy to find out they opened an Oakdale location since the other ppace hasnt chamged. I have been a loyal customer of Jura's since I was just a 9 year old little girl. My uncle and his soccer team would come here after every game just to hang out and relax. All the kids would cash in our dollars and play arcade games while our parents watched TV or games or whatever. I have NEVER had a problem with anybody, especially the owner. As a mother of 2 children, I feel great bringing them here. We get to enjoy great food and the kids get to play games. I just had a great family dinner with my family here and will continue for years to come. read more

Mr. J is from Turlock, so when he took me to introduce me to his family it was over lunch at Jura's. This was back in 2001, the chairs were all tore up, and I have a phobia with any material that has a rip or tear in it, even the smallest one. So Mr. J spent a good 5 minutes looking for a chair for me that was acceptable to sit on. They told me I had to try the hot wings...and they are by far the best hot wings I've ever had! The pizza is decent, but after eating a ton of hot wings and fries I can barely force a full slice of pizza down. Jura's did change their seating...yaay! Now I'm more comfortable with going there, knowing I don't have to worry about raggedy chairs, and when we do go to Turlock we definitely stop for hot wings. read more

Like Katie said, most people either hate the place or love it. I, for one, was not a fan. I had Juras for dinner today and DO NOT plan on going back. I heard rave reviews from a friend but was sadly disappointed. The wings were average, and the garlic fries were great. The pizza, however, was probably the worst pizza I've ever had. The crust was gummy and the rest of the pizza was somehow so bland and flavorless, even though there was tons(too much) of cheese and layers of toppings. The restaurant was semi busy, but there was no excuse for the seating/eating areas to be so messy. There were crumbs and used napkins on the ground, and the tables were sticky and dirty. Oh. And on another note, there was a bug and bug parts on the bottom of my sisters cup that we think came from the ice. I suggest saving your money and buying a frozen pizza, I know I found myself wishing that I did. read more

What can I say, you either love this place or you don't. Been to the new location many times for dine in and pick up. Their pizza isn't the best I've ever had, but it beats any chain pizza place hands down. My favorite is the wings. I love their wings and can pack them away. The service has mostly been good. The only time it wasn't the best was an afternoon when it was slow and I had to go to the bar to order more beer and reconcile my tab. That was kinda irritating because it took them a while to make sure my tab was correct. Probably the best thing about Juras and their service is the abundance of condiments. If your dining in, you get every condiment you need and plenty of. For take out I'll ask for extra ranch and they hook me up without any hesitation or charging me extra. When our food finally arrived they completely forgot about our table... They didn't give us any plates to eat from...
