About a month ago, a friend of mine sent me a link to cats that she knew I'd like, which happened to be at Lake Humane Society. On a whim, I decided to submit a inquiry form, never assuming that they'd contact me in less than 24 hours and ask me to visit within another 24. Within 48 hours of submitting my inquiry form, I was at Lake Humane. Going in so soon was honestly a bit nerve wrecking, and due to my trepidation, the staff member suggested that I took my cat home on a foster agreement, rather than adopting so that I could see if I truly was ready to be a pet parent when and to ensure that my prospective pet and I were a match. My cat came already neutered, with his shots, and the staff members were kind enough to clip his nails for me (as I was nervous of doing so myself). In addition, they provide you with a voucher to take your new furry animal to any vet in Lake County, free of charge, as long as you visit within 3 weeks of adopting (in addition to providing you with a years worth of flu shots). If you need any materials for your animal, you can purchase it in-house. I got a scratching post, toys, furniture, carrying case, cat food, and cat nip, all from the society for a very affordable price. I genuinely have nothing negative to say about the Humane Society. My entire experience was a great one. While I have no aspirations of getting another pet, if I did, I know where I'd go.

They take the time to: 1 Check your water quality 2 Help you actually understand what those numbers mean They explain how tanks go through different spikes before leveling out and becoming safe for fish, which is so important if you want your new pet to thrive. What I really appreciate is that they help you choose fish wisely so that when you bring a new pet home, it actually has a strong chance of survival in your tank. That kind of guidance matters. Plus, almost everything in most of the tanks is for sale, which makes it fun to browse and plan your setup. If you care about doing things the right way and giving your fish the best start possible, this is definitely a place to check out.

Out of genuine concern, I asked Jaden if she was okay and whether she had been fired. Instead of responding professionally, he told me to "shut up and mind my business," then continued the transaction. After completing my purchase, Jaden immediately walked into the office and spoke with a woman I assumed was a manager. They both laughed while looking directly at me, which made me feel uncomfortable and embarrassed. As I waited for the dog wash to become available and browsed for dog food, I overheard Jaden discussing the interaction with another employee, seemingly portraying the situation as though I had done something wrong simply for expressing concern about a coworker. I found the entire experience unprofessional and disrespectful. There is never an appropriate reason for an employee to tell a customer to "shut up and mind your business," especially when the question was asked out of concern for another person. I hope management reviews this incident and addresses it appropriately so future customers are treated with the courtesy and respect they deserve.
