Unfortunately, that excitement disappeared pretty quickly. We waited approximately 10 minutes without being acknowledged. A woman standing behind us who had arrived after we did was approached by the bartender and had her order taken first. I'm not going to speculate about the reason, but sitting there and watching it happen certainly didn't make us feel welcome. At that point I decided not to order anything because I already had doubts about staying. My wife ordered a glass of white wine that was supposed to be a 6 oz pour. When it arrived, we both questioned the amount. I even noticed other glasses of wine at a nearby table that appeared to have considerably larger pours. I've included a photo so people can judge for themselves. We weren't looking for special treatment because it was our anniversary. We simply expected the same basic level of acknowledgement and service as everyone else. It's unfortunate because we came in genuinely excited to try a local place and celebrate together. The atmosphere has potential, but our first impression of the service made us feel like we'd be better off spending our anniversary somewhere else.

This works great for us and parking was easy in the large lot. We got there a few minutes before showtime and parked right up front. Upon entering, our names were on a list and they gave us hard tickets at the front desk, kind of like will call. There is a main lobby with bathrooms and then into the dark main space, that was a decent size. There was a two item minimum that was easily met (can be a food item or drink) and our server was great about timing so we wouldn't be too disrupted from the show. It was a small audience that night, but this place would be great even with a bigger crowd.

The Other Room is cozy and looks to hold ~100 guests, the only "bad seats" are the ones that run directly right and left to the stage along the wall. The viewing angle isn't that great and based on the audio can't be that great based on my experience. 2. The room temp was very cold, at least where we sat on the high top tables near the window/door. Bring a jacket just in case or drink more to stay warm. 3.(my biggest issue) The audio was sub-par ... the male comedian was a little hard to understand and the featured comedian was a little better, but still had its moments where understanding her was difficult. They could add additional speakers or tone the bass done. The audio was probable a 3 out of 5, at best. The audio wasn't crisp or as clear as their main room. I'm hoping the bad audio was due to our seats, but I doubt it. 4. The staff was great and I've never had an issues with the staff, probably one of the best service staffs in any comedy club in Atlanta. Finally, I'm definitely planning to watch several upcoming comedians at the Helium club, however, if they are performing in "the Other Room", I'll be hesitant to purchase their show tickets. The music and the vibes are all grown. The setting was intimate, with a great ambiance. There is a full bar with reasonably priced drinks. The comedian line-up changes weekly. It's posted both in front of the building and when you enter the club. This seems like a good place for girls' night, a date, or to celebrate a special event. There are stairs (not too many). There is street parking up and down Veteran's Memorial Highway. We enjoyed our visit and will definitely come back again.

The In-between: we came here last minute after contemplating whether we wanted to drive all the way to Norcross. This easily became a $200 night with the tickets and required purchases. We were running behind due to work schedule but got there in time for just one of the opening acts and this guy was local and FUNNNNNEEEEEEE. If anyone can give me his name in comments please do. Headliner Carl Payne did GOODT. His cadence was good, jokes well laid out, relatable and funny. We got to sit front stage with the gracious owner of the club. That was very nice! I told my granddaughter we were going to get heckled for coming in late but gratefully- a guy on the other end of the room was the target of the comediennes jokes! #whew. Happy to dodge that bullet. My granddaughter liked her food and drink. It was dimly lit so no pics of food and a flash would have DEFINITELY put a target on our heads lol. The club has a large lobby area that unfortunately we didn't get to check it out because of our tardiness. It's seemed cool. Large artwork of comedians lined the walls and a step and repeat for picture ops. Our seating was a comfortable four top. Our waitress was so very sweet in pretty challenging logistics to be a server. I was happy to have ample cash in hand to tip her generously. Even though The club was packed, The let out was easy. We had a great time and look forward to more great times at Atlanta Comedy Theater.

Our tickets included a different drink for each act. Four in all. They were served by members of the cast in full costume. The play was an evening showing early in the run. Still working out kinks. Who knew? Good improv hides most "gaffes" but no one cared about the foibles. We had so much fun. We laughed and laughed with the rest of the crowd. Great atmosphere that night. I recommend any type of show there. They have classes too. We're mulling them over. I need courage.

The show promptly started on time, which I appreciated. Anu & Ash performed to s sold out crowd! The bar offers fairly priced snacks, as well as non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages. Pack your patience if you need to use the restroom because there's only two single unisex restrooms. Overall, I enjoyed my experience and would return to enjoy another performance.
