We had one moving company quote us and then after half our stuff was en route they doubled the quote for them to bring the other half. We will ONLY use these guys moving forward. They took the time to wrap everything. In addition, when one of the safes we needed moving no longer needed to be moved as far, he reduced the invoice. Had a few issues coordinating things because U-Haul's booking system was down. I made an error on…read morebooking with picking up my boxes with U-Haul moving help and ordering a U-Haul truck to deliver my boxes. Which was not their fault, U-Haul did not explain things to me clearly when I was booking, which made things complicated. U-Haul was not going to release my boxes; it was already on the road, and I explained that U-Haul was going to drop off my boxes. They agreed to wait, but they ended up not showing up, for it was getting late, and they tried to set up a time to meet, for my U-Haul boxes came later in the day, around 4:30 pm. They were nice enough to reschedule for the next day. So on Sunday, they appeared later than expected- agreed timeframe, and we had to reschedule once again due to the weather, as it was pouring badly. I did find it odd that they did not bring any equipment to move stuff, and asked for my apartment's dolly. Based on the new rescheduling planned to meet the next day on Monday. We agreed early in the morning, like 6:00 am, for I was travelling that same day. Ended up not coming on the time we agreed on once again. I had to call to see what was going on for 30 minutes to an hour past. When I called, I realized they were still sleeping- had a morning I just woke up, voice when they picked up essentially. I kept stressing the fact that I was leaving early that day and just gave the excuse of being hardworking, and they would get the job done in time before I needed to leave for the airport. I was already stressed, worried I would miss my flight, and checking out of my apartment on time, and they ended up coming to my place 3 hours later than what we agreed. During the unloading, a couple of my boxes ended up dropping while going up the ramp to my U-Haul box. I had insurance, and I did not have enough time or energy to react due to the time crunch. I just thought that if anything is broken, I have insurance from U-Haul to cover any damages. I did ask them to help bring locks and wrapping supplies for my stuff. For I wasn't sure what locks would work, and I did not want to have any issues with my U-Haul boxes. And on both occasions, on Sunday and Monday, they did not bring anything. Thankfully, I was able to buy them myself and not rely on folks, or I would have been in a tight situation of They are nice, but the whole scheduling to do the job and such could have been more professional and less stressful.

Had to be the worst experience as far as moving is concerned...they advertise as if they have their…read moreown truck come to find out they DO NOT...I was scheduled for 10/4 between 8-9am ...shortly after 8am I called them to then be informed that they would be picking up a truck at 9:03am clearly outside of the latest time of arrival that they estimated I was then advised by Devon that he'd call me back with an ETA ummmm ok...when he returned my call he said the UHAUL location was with 15 minutes of my location. They arrived at 9:45am not only did they break my vase which can't be replaced seeing as though it was purchased overseas...I then found out that they have some bogus insurance -Devon said they were insured but I was never given an insurance disclosure or an option to purchase insurance not did I ever see a policy when I was given a quote OR once we confirmed the date time location etc. He said oh if the item is less than $1000 then we can "make arrangements" seems to me as if they are not insured or they have such a high insurance limit they dont want to run the risk of filing...When driving to the drop off location they decided to take the long way ... I've driven to and from the pick and the drop off several times and my GPS has NEVER taken me that way over the river and through the woods... basically trying to ride the clock ...not impressed ...never again...unprofessional...if I would have known I'd have to deal with these shenanigans I would have simply hired "laborers" and rented my own truck. Don't waste your time

I won't name the complex, because I am really upset at the decline of the quality of living there over the past 11 months- but basically I asked a bunch of companies to get me estimates for moving on Friday night, and I ended up going with Tote because they sent out an estimator right away, and also the price was reasonable. Luke reached out to me Friday night, and we texted about getting someone over quickly. First thing Monday morning he was in my apartment, COVID aware and safely estimating the cost of my move. They were not the cheapest, but from the professionalism and thoroughness of walking through my entire place- his estimate wasn't that far off from the final bill. Monday I chose to move, they came today. Two days. This morning Tyson and Dexter called me on their way to my apartment to give me a heads up. We walked through the apartment and the clock started around 9:40. Within 2.5 hours they packed up my entire place and loaded it. I had many items already packed and they did an amazing job getting it out of the apartment so quickly and professionally. Literally world class workers. Zak called me and wanted to check in on how things were going. We discussed insurance options, and I let him know I was very pleased with the team they sent out. I moved about 13 miles. On the way here I bought lunch, and we provided drinks as a courtesy since these guys were CRUSHING it today. They were done about 30 minutes after the 5 hour estimate- but that's not a big deal in my book. All in all- they moved a 3 bedroom apartment in 5.5 hours. The unloading was also Championship level because there are three levels in the house and they were accommodating to the places we needed items moved. My parents had several boxes from their move. The movers gladly offered to take them out of the garage and also the boxes of packing paper. It was tremendous, the extra effort they made to make sure we were happy. I can't thank Dexter and Tyson enough. I was VERY happy that my family was happy. I want to give a special thank you to John Magruder, who is the head of operations there. I had one item damaged, and he resolved it about 5 minutes ago personally to my satisfaction. It's 10 PM, and he answered my texts (I was expecting to talk tomorrow, but he was going on vacation and wanted to get this resolved ASAP). Sincerely, a great person to offer to talk tonight and get this completely resolved so he can enjoy his vacation and I can move on with my unpacking and settling in. AWESOME person. Tote handles local and national moving. I am going to recommend this company HIGHLY to anyone that needs a hand with their move. Support small business owners! Let me preface that I hate giving poor reviews to small businesses...I understand that reviews can…read morebe much more important to them than they are to large chains... that being said, moving is typically a high anxiety enterprise and you need to know as much info about who you choose to move with as you can. I also feel that all actions have consequences, some good, some bad...this is the latter. I recently had an out of state move with a full pack that I had set up with Tote Moving & Delivery months prior. I called in frequently to make sure everything was on schedule and was always told by the owner that it was. They called to inform two days prior to the move that they were going to outright cancel the move as they had 2 employees out sick and one other who had a family member pass. I understand that things happen and I can be sympathetic but to have no backup prepared for an out of state move and/or to not even offer to move the date back was unacceptable and put me in a terrible, stressful bind. This ended up costing me thousands of dollars extra to procure a last minute mover. I was also not pleased that I had spoken to the owner all throughout the process but when it came time to give me bad news, that job was given to another of his employees. I asked the owner to contact me and he told me he was too busy covering for the workers that were out. My total move was to be over $8000 and that did not even warrant a personal call back in the owner's eyes? *I will say they did offer to have another company that they had a relationship with try and assist me but when I read reviews of the other company, they were flat out scary. They were rated extremely poorly and many reviews mentioned fraud and theft, so I did not consider using them. That did not even seem like a viable solution based on what my research came back with. If you use Tote, perhaps you will have a better experience...but just know that the potential for the whole thing to fall apart is there, it happened to me.
