I am a big fan of yoga. What it does for you strength, you health, and you mind, make it a important part of my life. When my studio closed down I was in limbo. I couldn't find classes that met my busy schedule. But when my friend came to me at the gym and recommended "Just Breathe Yoga" I was sold. I made my appointment over the phone and the woman I spoke to was extremely pleasant. That helps you because there's a process involved when choosing a studio. They had a class available at the time I was looking for so that was a plus. I don't know about you, but I like to get to a place early. So I did and to my surprise, the instructor showed up shortly after. Her name was Lisa and when I tell you she was great, she was great. She made me feel like a long time guest. She explained how she did things and how it differed from my old practice. But she told me to relax and move at my own pace. That put me at ease, some instructors I've dealt with in the past, made me feel uncomfortable because I wasn't up to speed. But Lisa was a complete professional. She explained and demonstrated the poses. She also walked over and gave types. She complimented the students that did well and told the new students, move at your own speed. The heat in the room was great too! Everything worked well. Only negative was the music wasn't surround sound. That's not enough to keep me away. I enjoyed the class tremendously! There is just one more negative, I'm sore all over, that's a sign it's been too long. Or maybe a shouldn't have tried a split. Either way I found the studio for me.... Namaste. read more

If you were to ask me two months ago I would have never thought I'd be interested in Yoga. This place has changed my perspective. The instructors are extremely knowledgeable and professional. There are different yoga flow classes to choose from. I haven't been disappointed yet. They clean the studio thoroughly after each session. I must confess that yoga sounded petrifying to me. The extent of stretching consisted of touching my fingers to my toes and that's about it. Well about a year and a half ago I purchased the wedding dress of my dreams but when it finally arrived, the bridal salon owner ordered a size too small! My friend recommended trying hot yoga and I've been hooked ever since. Not only did I fit into my dress but I felt stronger, both mentally and physically than I ever had before. The most affordable hot yoga classes in the area, this boutique studio is all about personal attention. The owner, Lara, is incredibly hands-on, and always looking to enhance the yoga experience by offering new classes like meditation and other services. She and her other long-time instructors, such as Christine and Laura, don't hesitate to adjust your sweaty self into proper alignment, making sure you get the most out of every class. The 6pm Tues/Thu power yoga vinyasa classes are delightfully challenging, with the only drawback being that new students will often not read the schedule and attend, slowing down the flow. Beginner classes are hot, hot, hot, and more about building tolerance and stamina in the heat than about constant movement. The ashtanga and vinyasa classes, held at 4pm daily and 8am and 10am on Saturdays and Sundays, respectively, are a great intermediate level class for those looking to make the step up into flow. Between the heat, music, dimness, and incredible focus, you reach a transcendental plateau through the buckets of sweat. It's a calming, cleansing experience that leaves you feeling wrung clean from the inside out, and feeling good about what you've accomplished. You leave feeling grounded, centered, and somehow converted to the yoga hoo-ha without knowing exactly when that happened. The class schedule is chock-full of times and dates, providing plenty of opportunities to check the place out. The $20 for your first unlimited week is a great deal, and a fantastic way to try out all the teachers before you commit. A warning to newbies: prepare to feel slightly nauseous and dizzy. Blackout spots in vision is common when you first begin to practice, and your stomach will be upset during backbends if you're not eating clean. You'll feel your toxins release and will feel progressively better as you keep on with it, so power through! Also, be prepared with a full-sized towel, generously sized water bottle, and mat. Mat rentals are available for $1, and Vita-Coco and water is for sale, though, if you forget. I didn't buy into the whole yoga thing and was just looking for new variety in my fitness regime, but this has been transformative and helped me get through heavy anxiety during a very difficult time. Plus, I stretch out muscles I didn't know I had; my shoulders are sculpted in a way they never were before; and according to my heart rate monitor, I burn 400-700 calories a session. I have been going to this studio for almost three years. I love this studio; it is hands down the best of the best. All the instructors are just outstanding, helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly. They have a variety of classes: Beginner Hot Yoga, Boot Camp Yoga, Yin Yoga, among many more. They also have Anti-Gravity classes which are amazing. A group of us did a private AntiGravity Yoga class with their instructor Shannee this past weekend and it was AWESOME! None of us had ever tried/done Aerial before, Shannee was the best! She helped everyone as much as we needed and not once made it seem stressful. It was a fun experience in a welcoming atmosphere that helped ease the anxiety of getting out of our comfort zones. I didn't know it was possible for my kneecaps to sweat... until now. If you're thinking about trying hot/bikram yoga, you should definitely check out this studio. They have something for everyone whether you're a newbie, or an advanced student. The instructors are great and are there to guide you through the poses. I've never felt judged because I couldn't do a pose (ie. http://bit.ly/4NDVtW). Everyone is encouraged to try their best and focus on their own abilities. The studio is clean and welcoming. The prices of the classes are very reasonable. Be prepared to sweat more than you ever have in your life (like you can take your shirt off at the end of class and literally wring out puddles of sweat) -- but you will feel so relaxed and detoxified afterwards! I wish I could remember the Yoga instructors I had each time. Absolutely amazing Yoga studio. My friends and I did Hot Yoga a few times and each time was absolutely amazing. Make sure you arrive early so you can peacefully go inside and relax to the heat before you get started. The teachers are so sweet and patient. Make you feel completely comfortable for people who aren't advanced (yet!:). I keep saying I'm going back. Oh and prices are awesome! Just Breathe yoga and Boutique and wellness is the best yoga studio on Long Island! It is my home away from home. I have been going to JB for 4 years regularly. I keep a year subscription so can practice as much as I want to and I like to practice a lot. JB is always warm and welcoming. The studio is always clean, sanitary, and decorated warmly. Taking a shower and changing after class is effortless. Let me say again everything is always clean. The clothes JB sells in there boutique is trendy, original, reasonably priced clothes. JB sells jewellery, yoga clothes, CBD, essential oils, and so much more. It is a great place to get your friend a gift. The professionals at the wellness center are the best. I have had a message by Bridget and it was one of the best I ever had. I have been fortunate to have an hour acupuncture experience and it was fabulous and helped me with shoulder pain and energy. The wellness center has many more services all are excellent. The yoga instructor at JB are the best! I have practiced at other places and nowhere can you you find such inspirational motivating instructors. Right now at JB 175 people are in a 30 day yoga challenge and I have taken 40 classes in May and not one class has been the same. JB offers an array of classes non-heated, heated, yin, and antigravity classes just to name some. Every instructor has great play list. All JB's instructors offer variations for all levels. All the instructors are trained,creative, initiative, and bring there own flare. The owner Nicole did a great job of creating a welcoming loving community. Many of the people I practice with have become my friends. The manager Jude keeps Just Breath makes it the place to be. Jude's classes are difficult and H-O-T!!! She keeps it fun and supports everyone to get through the moment. Jude, JB manager or Patrick are usually always there to greet everyone making JB an inviting place to be. A friend turned me on to Just Breathe because of the incredible instructors. I primarily have a home practice and will only occasionally take classes here and there. After one class I fell in love with the energy of the space and the level of determination emitted from fellow yogis. Following my first class I signed up for the new student promo of two weeks unlimited. I took a handful of classes over that time with Jude each one being equally challenging in different ways. I consider my self well practiced and quite flexible but these classes pushed me beyond what I thought I was capable of and I felt disappointed in myself because I couldn't do every asana. I felt a bit defeated at the end of the two weeks because I realized how far of a journey I still had in my practice as far as strength, stamina and flexibility. A few months later I came back and took another one of Jude's classes. During the time between my two week binge and this class I practiced diligently to work on my stamina and overall strength. After Jude's class this past Saturday I felt completely changed. The class was quite challenging but I was much more focused and able bodied to find space peace and a sense of grounding in all the asanas. Jude had beautiful words (and some very funny ones as well) to guide us the entire time and I dont know I found myself so moved. My energy had shifted and I cried at one point - Beautiful tears of course, because I had finally found peace in the challenge of Jude's classes. I really cant even begin to describe the euphoric feeling of being in a class at Just Breathe. The persistence of all the yogis is truly motivating and really transforms the energy in the space. Practicing with these amazing humans reminds me that any body is capable of anything. read more

I've been to a bunch of different studios over the last 7 years and this is one place that truly feels like home. From the atmosphere to every single teacher the place is homey, calm and just overall amazing. The studio is spotless, they have an amazing selection of essential oils, clothing and jewelry, the place is just fun to be in. I love that they are always expanding and I can't wait to see what the future has in store for them. 1st time going and it seems like a lovely place to do yoga. The class was large, 20 plus people. It was hot yoga and was on the schedule as a beginner class. It wasn't....for someone not versed in the names of the poses or proper way of doing the poses it was virtually impossible for me. I was told to watch people in front row which is fine except for when your head is down or looking in a direction that there is nobody in front of you. I found myself totally out of sync several times. I stayed in the hot room the entire time....wooo hooo for me, but left feeling defeated, incompetent, very sad and somewhat embarrassed. I can say that if you can do yoga and know the poses, you will probably love this place. It is not a good place for a novice like me, in my opinion. read more

I had never tried hot yoga before a decided to give this place a try, because they also offered barre classes, which I normally love. I purchased one month of unlimited hot yoga and barre classes. While the pricing is very competitive, for someone trying hot for the first time, I was disappointed to find that almost every class that was listed as a "beginner" class, was, in fact, not really a beginner class at all. I took a beginner Ashtanga class, where the entire class was doing jump throughs after ever pose. The instructor demonstrated once, and didn't attempt to help those who couldn't do the move properly. She also didn't offer a variation. I felt very awkward. Having done vinyasa classes for years, I found class levels were mislabelled. While I understand that everyone's practice is different, I feel a beginner class should focus on proper form in the poses. There were too many advanced students taking the beginner classes and the instructors were more attentive to those students. The best instruction there was Regina, but I couldn't always make all of her classes. In addition, the barre instructor seemed to more interested fitting in her own workout than actually helping those taking the class to do the exercises correctly. Being more advanced in barre, I was wondering why she wasn't correcting some of the new students who were were doing things that could cause injury. While this studio may be good for someone with and advanced yoga practice, it was not for me. read more

Just started practicing here about a month ago. I've tried classes with several of the instructors and like all of them so far (except for one minor incident when in the middle of the class one of them turned all the lights on unexpectedly, not sure why) but no other complaints. I'm loving hot yoga more and more each time I go to a class and feel so inspired because of this place! The atmosphere is beautiful too, so zen and peaceful. Okay, I will be attending another class this morning! I began practing in May after not doing it in about ten years. The heat is essential for me because it loosens my muscles and allows me to go deeper in my poses. I have researched several hot yoga studios in the area and was suprised to find that SHY classes are SIGNIFICANTLY lower in prices but certainly not in quality. Most of the instructors are great, extremely helpful and knowledgable. I can't say enough good things about the studio. I hope anyone looking to practice chooses this studio. You won't regret it! I want to update my review, nearly a year later and I can't stay away! SHY has moved to a new facility in the same shopping center. The new studio is much bigger and absolutely beautiful. A few new instructors but just as qualified, gentle, motivating, and limit pushing. I have nothing bad to say about SHY. I am not sure where Dawn S was, but Lara is the most down to earth, genuine instructor I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. Hot Yoga generally has very harsh instructors and a competitive nature. This truly is Hot Yoga with a Heart. The teachings of Dharma are evident in this studio. I travel more than 25 minutes to take these classes and I am never disappointed. read more
