Sent my dash off for my '71 Trans Am and, not gonna lie, the price had me second-guessing myself the whole time it was gone. Saw it when it came back and all that went away pretty fast. The grain and texture are spot-on, it genuinely looks like something GM pulled off the line in '71, not a reproduction. Color match is dead accurate too, which anyone who's been down this road knows is never a given. Yeah, it's an investment. But if you're doing a real restoration and cutting corners on the dash isn't something you're willing to do, these are your people. Couldn't be happier with how it came out. read more

its all about the money , tried to get a glove box door done ,they said they needed to do the dash pad to so it would match. after a year and a half of arguing they agreed to do the glove box door by itself . when i got it back ,i ask them to do my lower steering column. it is deteriorating real bad . since they could not make thousands off it . i was told to take it to a local body shop and get it painted. i hope there greed catches up to them , if you need something done contact GCAR they will give a fair price and honest read more

I will start by saying that I did not have any work done by this company so I really cant vouch for the quality of the work. What I can speak to is the way I was treated while trying to get a quote. I called and tried to get an idea of what the costs were for my parts I explained that they were actually in good shape just faded and didn't look good enough for the car I was restoring. Kenan barley allowed me to speak but threw a number at me that seemed pretty high especially without seeing them. He then suggested that I send photos, I told him I was local and suggested that I simply bring the parts over so he could examine them. He said OK and made an appointment for me to come over. When I came there, it was raining and was asked to wait at the edge of the door because whoever it was that acknowledged me was on the phone, I never got his name nor did he introduce himself. Once he came to speak with me and asked who I was he looked up my info and said I was already given a quote ($4500 for a upper dash pad, lower pad and glove box lid 1969 Roadrunner VERY basic). I said how can you quote this without even seeing it, he grudgingly said let me look, instantly he says yep that the price, its as if they threw a number in the wind to see if I would swallow it. He then told me he was not in charge of pricing but he knew what it was and that's it. I asked if I could speak to someone who could talk about price, he stuck his head in an office door for 2 seconds and said nope nobody here to talk to, keep in mind I supposedly had an appointment to go over this. I presume that they are so busy and have such a backlog that they simply don't care about the customer and if you do end up dealing with them they are going to spit a price in the wind and see what happens. I was actually looking forward to having them work on my parts but apparently if your not Jay Leno your garbage, really a sad experience. I actually have an associate that knows Jay and I have meet him on several occasions, I will let him know how this place treats people, he may want them to take down the video and his endorsement. read more

I wish I could less than one star. What a waste of money. I sent them a dash pad and glove box door for a 1978 Dodge lil red express pickup to get redone. It cost me over 2k to get them both done and the dash pad had a couple broken tabs which they said was no problem, lol. Got it back and the tabs fell off as soon as I set the dash pad in place. I called them and the guy asked me what I expect for something that is 40 some years old and I told him for that kind of money I expect it to hold together. I would have been more impressed with them if they would have just told me it wasn't a good idea instead of just taking my money. They will never get any business from me again!!! read more

Sent in a trashed dash and glove box door (1970 Datsun Roadster ) for restoration. End result was FANTASTIC. Can't wait to get it in the car. I apologize for the tardy review but I wanted to do a review from last year which i realized i neglected to post, so here it is. My 1969 Camaro has one of the few oddball dashes that they do not do, and were honest about not trying to attempt anything since this particular unique dash pad is a very poor factory design originally, so they declined. I appreciate their honesty. My nephew referred me since they had restored his dash pad for his '70s Oldsmobile and he was very happy about the job that was done. What I did have done by Just Dashes was that they restored the two front bucket seat headrests for my Camaro. The aftermarket items produced are inferior and the materials available for restoration of existing headrests are not exactly the correct match. I asked Just Dashes if they could match exactly and they did. They were honest about the lead time it took, since materials needed to be obtained and the work done, but when i showed up on the appointed day, i was happily stunned by the perfect job. It was 1969 all over again! The grain and color were an exact match, They are a bit pricey, but it one needs to pay more for perfection it is well worth it, especially when you have a classic vehicle on which you want to do everything right. In this case, there is a date code on these headrests which aftermarket do not have and it is well worth it to restore the documented originals. Thanks, Just Dashes. Bravo Zulu! read more

I had the Dash for my 1983 Mitsubishi mighty max pickup here (Same as DODGE D50) almost 4 years ago. The color match was pretty nice and the dash is preforming very well. I do plan on bring on another D50 dash soon. I realize all dashes are different in construction and how they mount to the car. In this case I am glad I brought the dash mounted to the dash frame with all parts as these dashes warp and affect fit of the glove box door. I had the dash for my Datsun 210 reconditioned here. During my resto of the car I found a dash assembly in a junkyard that was in very good condition. The only problem was that it was blue and my interior is brown. I've had it color matched by a couple other people in the past and they were spot on. I brought my original dash pad (not the blue one found in the junkyard) to be reconditioned. I was disappointed they were a couple shades off on color. Otherwise they did a very good job restoring the dash pad. Since the materials are newer the dash padding was a little thicker than previous so it was beefed up a little but it fit nicely in the car and looked great. I'm having all my dash assembly pieces painted again since some of the paint peeled up exposing the blue of the donor parts so I'm having my dash pad painted while I'm at it so everything matches. I can't speak for shipping since I'm local to the place so I was able to drop it off and pick it up. Everyone there was a pleasure to deal with and I'm pleased with the way they dash turned out except for the color being a little off. read more

In rebuttal, I'd like to correct Irwin from Just Dashes who misquoted me. I didn't say the dash was "nice." His statement implies that I was satisfied with the color. Nothing could be farther from the truth. Irwin's inaccurate quote fails to capture my frustration and sarcastic tone. Irwin gave me back my dash pad after telling me that his poor attempt at matching the color was the best he could do, to which I sarcastically replied, "That's great." I then told him how disappointed I was with how poorly the entire transaction turned out to be, and I left. Yes, they spent three hours trying to match a common color (it's found in a lot of GM cars from the same era), and still failed. They say that as if I didn't give them credit for having tried. I did so very clearly in the first paragraph of my original review. That doesn't change the fact that they never got it right. I even told Irwin that it didn't have to be perfect, just get the color close, a color that looked good. They couldn't do it. As for the fact that they refunded what they refer to as a "color matching" charge, I didn't mention it because I didn't want to raise the issue of their underlying motive for doing so. But now that it's on the table, I think it's fair to warn other prospective or future customers to NOT accept this ploy if they hand you a dash that's the wrong color. I should have seen it coming, but it's clear to me now that their true motive for refunding a portion of the total charge, and specifying that the partial refund is for "color matching", has nothing to do with maintaining customer satisfaction. It's clear to me that the true motive is to shield themselves against a small claims lawsuit. I'm obviously not the first dissatisfied customer on whom they've employed this tactic. They say in their reply that I led them to believe that I was satisfied. That is absolutely false. I was very clear about my dissatisfaction. They also claim that they mentioned that the color of my dash is "notoriously difficult for anyone to match." If they knew that it was "notoriously difficult", why didn't they tell me that when I first brought the dash in? If they knew it would be hard to match, they should have told me that I should not expect them to get it right. In fact, they didn't say anything about it until Irwin got frustrated after getting the color wrong, completely wrong, several times. Also, they claim that it would be difficult for "anyone to match." That is a claim that they can't prove, or even support. The bottom line is, BUYER BEWARE! read more

This is my first car restoration and, thus, my first experience with Just Dashes. My original dash was toast so I watched a bunch of videos to see if I could DIY it, but it was too far gone. I found Just Dashes online but was a bit nervous as they seemed to be "the only game in town". After reading all the reviews I could find, the satisfied seemed to far outweigh the dissatisfied so I gave them a shot. Other than missing their projected start date by two weeks, I have zero complaints.
