I recounted how frustrated we were with our seemingly unique internet needs, and someone (wish I could recall his name) ended up hooking us up (aka for FREE) with a slightly used (but still working) DSL modem/router that works great. In short, go see these guys about your tech/networking needs, they will actually take the time and talk with you about stuff, rather than professing total ignorance at their own products then shoo-ing you out the door (like some other name-brand tech stores around here).

I offered to post it so others do not have to go through similar frustration. 1. I bring my laptop to a driveway so Richard could "see inside." HE RETURNS IT WITH TWO OUTSIDE SCREWS STRIPPED AND REMOVED FROM CASE. He has to order the battery and tells me he hates Macs though he claims to be a Mac repairman. 2. I return a week later to drop off laptop, supposed to be ready in 30 minutes. HE MISPLACED BATTERY. I go home, ready to call another repairman, he calls, found battery. 3. I bring it back at the agreed upon time. It won't be done for "a while." HE NEEDS TO FIND AND REPLACE TRACK PAD CABLE, WHICH WAS FINE BEFOREHAND! He gets mad because I'm upset and he's the one doing all the work!! Price has changed twice because of extra time. I do not pay the second increase and retrieve the laptop towards the end of the day. 4. Battery starts up that evening, but the next morning it is dead. Won't hold charge. 5. I take it to a professional technician in another city and watch as he opens the case. BATTERY NOT SEATED PROPERLY, TRACK PAD MISALIGNED, INTERNAL SCREWS STRIPPED, A SPACER BENT AND UNUSEABLE. I paid for this 2nd technician to correct Richard's errors.

Shout out to Hakim Givens!! Went to MY IPHONE REPAIR (although the business card reads: MY CELL REPAIR) yesterday. Worked with Hakim to transfer data from no-longer-useful iPhone 6S to newly purchased iPhone 8 Plus. Hakim's service was great: friendly, professional, knowledgeable, patient (we are old folk and don't easily "get" technology like the young 'uns do). He patiently explained what he was doing and why he was doing it. He transferred data from the 6S to the new 8 Plus, helped us pick out a cover for the phone, installed the covering (leaving no fingerprints and no air bubbles!). My wife was really impressed, and she is a perfectionist, so that is high praise from Caesar. Hakim works full time in the Windsor store (they have four stores) and plans to return to school shortly. We went in to get my daughter's iPhone fixed because her home button and chucks of the screen were missing. It was ready in about an hour. I've come here twice for assistance with cell phone issues for my kids: a dropped Android that stopped texting and a used iPhone given as a present that needed phone service. Both times, Hakim went above and beyond to research the issues online and was able to find answers quickly. The dropped phone was reset and began texting again. I brought my daughter's Ipad Air 2 in for diagnosis of a mic issue. The gentleman Hakim politely greeted us and took a look at the device. He said mic replacement was pricey because it involved removal of the glass but that he could try cleaning the mic to see if that would help after I declined the replacement. Not only did that fix the problem but Hakim declined payment for his services (we ended up buying other hardware at the store because of extreme gratitude). I went into the store and was greeted by Justin. My Samsung S10 had an issue with the screen. He examined my phone and told me he could fix it, but he told me it should be covered under warranty. Justin directed me to the Samsung website and they are going to fix it under warranty. I called Justin later, thanked him for his honesty and help in this case. During floods my friend's iPhone fell into a big mud puddle and got run over. Brought it in and they gave it a going over and determined it was a goner. Luckily, they had a used / refurbished phone available within the budget during a difficult time. Next was a MacBook Pro that needed a battery. Their testing confirmed the battery was bad and the charging adapter defective. Continued use of the defective charger would damage the new battery so it too was also replaced. The screen is damaged so they looked up the availability of a replacement and could get one though we opted not to do it at the time. Replaced an iPhone battery and got it checked thoroughly as it had some damage. They put it under the microscope to see if anything important was damaged or if it went through to the PCB board and it was ok. Big relief, just a battery swap. At a different time it acted like the charging port was dead so got it checked and hopefully fixed. He took it to the bench to inspect it. Turned out to be pocket lint / fluff blocking the contacts in the port he easily cleared and handed it back. We all laughed. A Galaxy Watch that was a gift the charging contact separated from the back. Wasn't sure it could be salvaged or repaired and brought it in. He put it under the microscope and saw a lead was nicked, but it was ok. He reattached / glued the contact back on free. Thanks for all the times they helped, advised, repaired, and came through for us and if / when needed in the future.

He fixed it up the next day with printing like new. Nice bold dark print. Mike and his colleague were very open and honest about fixing a old printer but luckily the cost of repair was reasonable. I found out that the old HP printers are better and worth fixing. I will go to Lazerjet Tech for any future print repairs and advice. I highly recommend them to anyone with printer problems.
