I took a little bit of a late lunch so I didn't get here till about 2 o'clock. There was not any wait time in line to place my order and the food came very quickly. I normally get the Kahlúa pork but today I went for the aloha teri chicken. It's basically just chicken teriyaki, but the flavor is amazing and the chicken so tender! I definitely will be having this again. I do kit eat the macaroni dish or veggies so I cannot speak to those but they are available with this dish. Love this place for great authentic Hawaiian food at a fair price. Every time I come here I get great customer service and the food is cooked perfectly, the Spam Musubi has a nice amount of sauce cooked into it and always has a nice crisp to it. Aloha to good Hawaiian food in the Renton area! This place has got all the classic Hawaiian comfort foods at a reasonable price. I tried the mochiko chicken but I'd like to come back and try all the other items on the menu. Food Mochiko chicken is one of my favorite ways of eating chicken and I always get it to gauge a Hawaiian restaurant. The chicken was juicy and in the perfect bite size. The outside was just a bit crispy, but personally I like it super crispy. I really liked the Mac salad though because it was not smothered in sauce and had good flavor to it still. There's a nice sauce area where you can put on as much other sauces like spicy mayo. Atmosphere Casual and laid back. There's some nice wall art of the Hawaiian islands and there's also outdoor seating for when it gets warmer outside. Pricing Reasonable and cheap prices for Hawaiian food compared to other restaurants that serve Hawaiian food. Service  Self service here so you'll have to bus your own tables, get your own water, and silverware. The staff here is super friendly and checked in on me halfway thru eating even. I didn't expect it but it was nice. Other Plenty of parking in front of this strip mall and is shared with other restaurants. And it's nearby IKEA too! read more

Rating is purely based on my taste buds. The customer service at this place was great. So I was pretty bummed that I didn't like it. I ordered the garlic chicken with white rice and macaroni salad and it was not what I expected. I thought the flavor of the Mac salad was just ok. The rice was fine but the chicken was not my cup of tea. I couldn't get with the look and the garlic sauce flavor. Who knows though, you might like it. Try it for yourself. read more

We happened upon this gem when we were looking for a spot to grab dinner on the run after and three hour escapade at IKEA! Glad we found our new go to! I haven't had a ton of Hawaiian food but they had what I did know about - Kalua pork and some Poké! Many do the dishes had some Asian flare, which made it all the more exciting! We got those two as well as some teriyaki (our six year old is a connoisseur of fine teriyaki!) and, our new favorite dish, Katsu loco! Everything was good and the Katsu loco was a cut above everything! A play (obviously) on the Moco Loco with Katsu chicken, eggs, gravy and rice. It was the perfect combo dish - excellent chicken, some creamy yolk and some gravy, that while likely from a packet, was just right! Four dishes for five of us left everyone full but not so stuffed that the kids didn't want bubble tea! We called it in and about 15 minutes later we were set. Folks cooking we're friendly and knew what they were doing! End of the day, you should check this place out - it's well worth your time! read more

You ever find "YOUR Place"? You know, that one place where they make the food sooo good that it becomes the one and only place that you will go for that particular type of food? This was it! This was my go-to Hawaiian food joint. In all of Washington state, I would make a point to drive all the way here to get my island food fix. Unfortunately, they sold the business and instead of changing the name and making it their own, the new owners kept the name. They kept the decor. Everything is nearly exactly as it was before except the food! This place used to be owned by a very nice caucasian gentleman who lived in Hawaii for years. He honored their traditions and loved the food so much that he perfected his methods and cooked it with his heart. Just like a hermit crab that takes over the old shells of past inhabitants, so too has the new owner of Aloha Grill moved in to an empty shell of what was. They've added all kinds of Japanese options as if this were some teriyaki restaurant and they started basically phoning in the hawaiian food. I'm very sad to say that this is no longer my favorite hawaiian restaurant. It's no longer even on my list of places that I will return. When L&L is a better choice, you know things will never be the same. Whatever the original owner is doing these days, I wish him the best. Hopefully he is oblivious as to what has happened to his legacy. read more

Not having eaten much in the Renton area, I was hungry and looking for a quick team lunch with a colleague. Driving around we spotted aloha and it was sunny so why not. Stepping into the storefront we were greeted with a friendly smile. My friend ordered the Kailua pork and you can have it with vegetables or rice&Mac salad. He opted for the veggies. I ordered the katsu curry and obviously it needs the rice to soak up the curry! Food came out fast and the verdict: 1) Kailua pork was good, not the best, but pretty solid. Personally I would have ordered it with the cabbage, but my friend didnt want it. 2) Katsu curry....that was bomb. The katsu was crispy and the meat was juice. With the savory mild curry, it was delish and there is that part of me wishing I was 10 years younger and I would totally have ordered another plate of it to eat...on...the...spot. read more

The people working are always so nice and sweet! First time trying this place and it was not bad for Hawaiian food. Ordered the lau lau combo, saimin and the kalbi. We had lau lau from another Hawaiian restaurant nearby and it was full of fat that I couldn't even enjoy it so I was happy to see that this was filled with meat but honestly wish there was just a tad bit fat in there to soften up the taro more. It was also pretty salty so I just had to load up on the rice with each bite. We probably wouldn't order the kalbi again. It was lacking flavor and prefer to make it at home. We also prefer our Mac salad to be more coated. Overall I'd give it a 3.75/5. I think the Korean owned Hawaiian spot just a few blocks down might be better but I was craving lau lau so I decided to try it out. read more

Traveling for work, I like to try new places...... I found Aloha Grill on my last trip and could not wait to return. I like this place so much I visited 2 times during my 3 day work trip. Monday got the hamburger steak and onions and on Wednesday Curry shrimp and musibi. Everything thing I have ordered from here has been a good sized portion, priced right and done fresh. Sadly, most of the Hawaiian spots I have tried in Seattle haven't been good, but this one definitely delivers. I was not disappointed in any way. The menu was expansive, and the food delicious. The interior was soooo dark when I first walked up I thought it was closed. Then I walked in and the restaurant was really dark as well. There was a worker who saw me come in and just blankly stared at me no greeting or asking if I had any questions. I then proceeded to order and he was just as blank then as well. The plate comes with 2 scoops of rice and 1 scoop of macaroni, which I don't know what constitutes a scoop of macaroni as it was substantially different in size and came on the side....I also added an order of spam musubi and boy do they cut the spam real lean and thin, plus the flat top or pan they cooked it on was definitely burned or not clean because the spam had an off taste....overall I left seriously underwhelmed and a bit disappointed as this had potential as an authentic hawaiian place...won't be back.... read more

The last time I was in Hawaii I fell in love with Kalua Pork! And Aloha Grill makes a pretty darn good one if you're ever in the area. I'm hardly in Renton, but was meeting my friend who was coming from South King County, so this was a good mid-point for us. Plus, Hawaiian food... So, we gave this place a try for an early dinner. Our cashier was really friendly. We asked him for recommendations and he pointed out that the combinations were a good choice, if we wanted to try the different kinds of protein like the beef and pork, which is what my friend ordered. I ended up ordering the Kalua Pork Loco, which the cashier mentioned was his favorite. Although we were the only ones there, the food was ready surprisingly fast. My friend really enjoyed her Teri-Beef and Kalua Pork Combo, which came with white rice and mac salad. It was also her first time having mac salad, but after trying it here she approved! As for my humongous meal of the Kalua Pork Loco, I enjoyed it; and though I didn't grow up in Hawaii, it just reminds me of good ol' comfort food. The two fried eggs still had that runny yolk, smothering the rice and gravy train all day. But the Kalua Pork was solid. It was tender and had that smoky flavor that I still remember loving in Hawaii. The menu has a good range of classic Hawaiian dishes and offers daily specials. They also have a fridge, stocked with Hawaiian Sun fruit drinks. Aloha Grill is located in a shopping strip by Ikea, with plenty of parking. Stopped by with my friends since I was craving kalua so much. I ordered the Maui Girl which was a mix of chicken teriyaki and kalua pig. These plates all come with 2 scoops of rice and a scoop of Mac salad (love). Really enjoyed eating here and the staff was nice as well. One of my friends is a native from Hawaii and he said it faired pretty well. For me it was great but I can't speak to authenticity of Hawaiian food well ;).
