I wish I could give less than one star review for this man Joseph. He ruined my hair. It has been 1.5 years since I got balayage done on my hair- and my hair still hasn't recovered from it. He bleached it- and colored it to crisp. This pic attached is after I tried to straitened it- but he has ruined it. Until my hair grows out again I have to tie it. After the time he bleached my hair, I have never seen my hair healthy again. He is also talkative and gives advices that are baseless. I will never go back to this place, and I would not trust my hair with him. The salon overall has a nice vibe and the people seem nice- except Joseph. He comes on too strong and opinionated. All could be tolerated if he would have done a good job on my hair. I have never seen my hair this way. I paid around $250 + the products he sold to me. I Have spent over $1000 on products to try to fix my hair. Nothing has worked so far - that's the amount of damage this man has done to my hair. read more

Went to Justin Michael's Salon as a recommendation from my friend! Awesome salon! Went and saw Aubrie who my friend recommended for a cut and I wanted to put a purple tint in my hair. I have never dyed my hair before and wanted to make sure that anything that I did would not damage my hair. I love that when she was doing a consultation with me, she really listened to what I wanted, and what my concerns were. Because I was dying my hair, I didn't want to damage it. She formulated a whole plan for my hair. I came back the next week after and we dyed my hair! I love it! Go visit, Aubrie! I saw Catherine Palmer. I requested a trim to keep it a long classic bob and ended up with a very short wedge, a typical old lady haircut. A different look, not what I requested. I asked for a trim at the bottom and got lots of layers and inches off the back and uneven on the side with a big mishap on one side as seen in the picture below. I asked for sun-kissed highlights as well. She was very busy texting away on her phone and not focused on the job. Background info: I was letting my hair grow as she also got carried away and cut it very short several months ago in February and it took months to grow back. I was upset she chopped it all off again, especially, as I was preparing to attend my daughter's wedding and had worked so hard to get it back to my original length. She claimed it was my fault for not articulating. I know I was very specific on just having a trim. She's very impulsive. She ended up doing her own thing, layering away and cutting off 4 inches from the back. I never asked for layers. Although she thinks she listens to her clients, she doesn't. Even worse, the new style she gave me, she botched it up as well. This was negligence for being on the phone texting and not paying attention to what she was doing. She cut a triangle into the side. She said she wouldn't charge me for the cut, a cut I didn't even ask, but she sure baked it into the highlight cost. I've never paid $200 for highlights. I'm sure the cut was thrown in there. Catherine didn't like it when I expressed my dissatisfaction. Right away she felt offended as if she was the one who got her hair cut off, and instead of apologizing, she started to make a scene as if someone was doing something wrong to her. Total drama. She was more concerned about her ego than what she did to her client. I was the one that received a bad haircut. Unfortunately, she had no empathy that I was preparing for my daughter's wedding. If it wasn't for that, I could have let it pass as hair eventually grows, but this was not the first time she screwed up. I should have known better. She cut too much in February and it took months to grow. Thus, why I asked for only a trim, not a cut. I even reminded her to not overdo it like she did in the past and emphasized a trim. I've been going to this salon for 20 years. I've had three different stylists who were amazing and unfortunately, they've all relocated. I tried Catherine since I didn't know who to go to. When she screwed up the first time, I figured I should give her some slack since she was just getting acquainted with my hair but all I can say is that I screwed up going back to her. I take the blame for going back to her. She needs training in female haircuts. The majority of her clientele is male. Edit: Responding to her comments below, which were written by Catherine and not the owner: I did reach out to her and tried to communicate, not only onsite but via text, to rectify and at least be reimbursed. See Catherine's way of dealing with a client (see attached texts below). Other: A gentleman was sitting in the waiting area, which happened to be right next to my chair (where my hair was getting done). As I stood up and walked away, I apologized to the gentleman as he overheard the whole situation. I didn't say anything else. There was no need to do so. Catherine, who responded below, is paranoid that I talked about her. Again, this goes to show that she was more interested in herself, not the client. I think the gentleman was her next client and that's why he was waiting nearby. All in all, beware. When she's wrong, she won't do a thing, not even correct the damage, reimburse, or apologize. She just washes her hands. My advice, swipe left. read more

I had a very bad experience with Ce Ce ( Celeste) She promised me highlights & all over color. 3.5 hrs later . I walked out with frizzy orangish hair. My scalp is red and burning. My grays are not covered. I have hair color on my face. She brought down the cost to $250.00 because I was unhappy with the results. "I do not recommend working with this person. In my experience, she lacked the necessary skills and did not provide value for the high fees she charged me. After contacting her & expressing my concerns. She suggested covering the grays and that she is happy with her work. So disappointed because I have a big event coming up. read more

Unfortunately I'm not very happy with the haircut I got with Aida. I requested a women's cut with long layers. Aida is very sweet but the layers she did turned out to be choppy and unflattering and I have to wear my hair tied up in order for my hair to look decent. read more

Just a nit but I tried to make an appointment at this salon today. Their website said they open at 10:00. I called and called with no answer. It's close to my home so I thought I'd stop by to make an appointment in person. I was told, that's not how it's done. I said, ok and walked away. Later, I received a call from the salon. Based on Caller ID, someone contacted me. Here's my feedback, it appears each hair person maintains their own schedule. It's not like regular salons where you can call their front desk to book. Looking at their website, it appears online booking will be implemented soon. For me, it was an off-putting experience. I'll go elsewhere. I'm sure their stylists are fine. Had my hair done over a month ago by Diane M. I thoroughly enjoyed my experience at the salon and am still so happy with the results. She is so kind and professional, does amazing work, is a gifted listener and tells the truth about what she sees. Diane really knew how to visualize what I was explaining and create a whole fresh look for me. We started with a consultation since I called for at least a color correction and was requesting some kind of an overhaul. We talked about things and she got busy! She also gave me some very sound advice on products and regimen, which I ended up needing even though I act like i know everything about my own hair. Getting ready is so much faster now, my hair looks and feels lighter, better, brighter and fuller. More appropriate for work. More of an actual style. Excellent service with a relaxing atmosphere. Everyone is polite and professional, I really had the "homey" vibe that I desperately seek when I get my hair done. I was able to relax and get pampered, I felt like the rest of the world was quiet. Catherine Palmer at Justin MIchael's does a great job on teens to moms and even my 95 year old MIL! We all love her and she is able to be flexible to the clients needs. We have all been going to her for over a year now and will continue to see her! She had great training and lots of experience since. Love my blonde highlights and root tint. Catherine will do new styles on me when I request it. She is fun too! My daughters have long blonde hair and she does nice highlights that don't require as much upkeep on one of them. She does not trim off too much, which would horrify my daughters. I was at the salon at 5:30pm for my appt with Madeline and she had 3 clients who still needed her to finish up with them! And before she started on me, another client came in as well for an appt. This lady has zero respect for her clients time as she did not apologize to me or the other clients for running behind. She is very unprofessional and disrespectful of clients time. She finally started to cut my hair at 6:10pm and literally cut my dry hair for THREE MINUTES. It was a rushed job, super choppy. She then did my highlights in 10 mins. At 7pm, she washed my hair with cold water and said that I have to pay extra for toner. I asked if she used bleach on my hair and she said yes. I was shocked because I thought I only needed dye because I had virgin hair and only wanted a dark brown highlight. She said the toner will make it last longer for 1 year. After she brought me back to a chair that she cut other people's hair in, which was covered with other people's hair!! She cut my hair more, blew dry it and then asked what I thought. I said I didn't like it and it wasn't what I asked for. It was light, orange and brassy. She proceeded to say that if the highlights were darker I wouldn't see anything. But the picture I initially showed her had very dark brown highlights. Then she said that was low lights and highlights use bleach. She should have communicated all of this prior!! She said she could add darker dye but said with a snarky remark "why did you have me blow dry your hair if you didn't like the color?" She should know that color looks different wet versus dry and I needed to see the final result. After redying and rinsing my hair, she then told me to go over to yet ANOTHER chair and told me to blow dry my own hair!! It was 8pm at this point. I finish blow drying my hair and notice that my hair is soooo choppy and has a chunk that is super long and uneven. I stood up and she asked me what do you want? I said my hair is so uneven and choppy. She finishes with the other client and tells her she needs to pay $50 for the toner and that client looks surprised and Madeline said it's not included in the Groupon. False advertisement much??? Madeline proceeded to cut and try to fix my hair. The other client is waiting and asks if she could ring her up. Madeline says she only takes Venmo or Zelle and told the client she would text her her Zelle. So that client leaves without paying or tipping her in that moment. She finishes my hair and I tell her that it does look better and thanked her. I stand up and she doesn't say anything. So I head towards the door because I assumed she would say she would text me her Zelle as well. She then says "you aren't going to pay or tip? It's $50 for toner" I tell her I don't want to pay for the toner because it didn't even work. She makes many remarks as how I'm disrespectful and that I couldn't see she's working so hard. I told her that she didn't do what I asked, it wasn't my fault that she didn't communicate at ALL, that she overbooked herself with 5 clients at once, that she didn't do what I wanted or asked for, so why do I need to pay for that service, let alone tip her? She then said I can't find someone to do ALL that she did to my hair for $75 (the price of the Groupon). I said that I've gotten a few Groupon hair services before and none turned out this poorly. She then made comments about how "young people like me" are so disrespectful because she spent 3 hours on me I told her that I've never received service as unprofessional as what she provided me with and I've never been so unhappy with my hair. I went to see Joe for a first visit a couple weeks ago. He was very thorough and knowledgeable with his explanation of everything that would be happening at my appointment. I also had a chance to watch him with other clients while I was waiting (processing, etc.) and you can just see how talented he is from his interactions with clients and the way he works. I brought a couple of photos for reference and he was able to work his magic. I love my new color and cut! My hair has so much more volume than it has before.
