I've been going to this salon for years, brought my kids here for their haircuts and referred family because I genuinely believed in the quality of service. I have always loved my stylist, Loan-- which makes this review especially disappointing to write. Unfortunately, after being canceled on three straight times (two of which were complete no-shows with no notice), I feel compelled to share my experience. I understand that things come up, but being left hanging without a heads-up -- multiple times -- is really unprofessional. What's even more frustrating is that there's been no real attempt to make it right. I truly valued the relationship I had with my stylist and always looked forward to my appointments, but this pattern of cancellations has made it hard to justify coming back. If I could give a zero star I would give that. I wanted to get a root touch up done. I landed up with someone new and extremely unprofessional. First, I asked for what brand color are they going to use, they didn't clearly tell me and just got the color and applied. The service was below average. I had color all over my fore head and neck. Even if I did this myself I never get that much color all over my skin. I had stains on my ear and even splattered on my hands. I have had services from other places and never have I experienced this low quality experience. While booking the appointment I had asked for the pricing and they had told me its 72 and up. They charged me 130 dollars just for root touch up and I dont have a whole lot of grey. They said the extra is for the blow dry which I was told is included as a part of the service. They didn't explicitly tell me how much they are going to charge me prior and she just ended up billing me 130 which is almost double the price that I had expected for such low quality service. I have been going to Allure for a while now. I got my most recent haircut appointment with Lily and was a bit anxious but she did a great job with my hair. My sister went to this salon and wanted light brown hair with natural blonde highlights. Instead she got her entire head bleached platinum blonde and left with chemical burns and cuts all over her scalp. When she cried in the salon and said it wasn't what she asked for, her hairstylist which was the manager as well said, "you are just not used to how the blonde looks on you". When my sister said she felt her scalp burning and asked if she could check if there was any wounds, her hairstylist said that she didn't see anything. Once we got home and put a flashlight to her hair, we were shocked to see rashes, chemical burns, open wounds, and cuts. We went back the next day and confronted her. She then proceeded to come up with a list of excuses and said it was not chemical burns from the bleach, but from the foils. But from the burn patterns on her scalp, it was evident that it was because of the bleach and couldn't have been because of the foils. Regardless of who was right, even if it was the foils like she said. It would've still resulted in her leaving a clients scalp covered in cuts. She didn't apologize once, and said it due to my sister having a "sensitive scalp". However my sister has never had issues with hair bleaching or coloring in the past. Eventually we demanded a refund which did not come easily as the hairstylist still felt she was not in the wrong. I want to warn any future customers about this situation before they choose to come here. I wouldn't wish this situation on anyone and I hope this brings awareness about this salon to people that want to try it out. I was there two weeks ago to get a Japanese straightening treatment. I have wavy somewhat curly hair. I paid $400 plus tip and left with a nice straight hair. I washed my hair after two day as indicated by Loan, my hair stylist, and to my surprise I got crispy, mistreated, same natural wavy curly hair after the wash. I gave it two weeks and washed it a couple of more times to see if maybe my hair would be straight after the second or third wash. NONE! So... I decided to go to the salon and talk/ show Loan my hair. I told her I had paid a lot of money for a service and had not gotten what I paid for. She offered to wash it and show me that it was the shampoo. Totally UNTRUE! I came home, woke up the next day with the same bushy/curly hair! $400 plus tip were WASTED!! And I ended up with mistreated hair, spending over $100 more on treatment products to repair the damage! So, PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE FOR STRAIGHTENING OR KERATIN TREATMENTS!! DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY! Loan, the hair stylist/ manager could have at least offered to give me some partial refund or free products. She did not!! So UNETHICAL!! read more

Today, I had my first appointment with Tommy at Allure Hair Salon in Dublin. I was pleasantly surprised and delighted! My hair stylist is switching careers and I had to scramble to find a replacement. I wanted to go to a local place rather than drive elsewhere. Based on positive reviews, I went with Allure and Tommy. He was efficient, expert and precise with his cut. He's been doing this for 25 years. Beyond that, the price was quite reasonable and the salon was nice enough. Clarify what the price is going to be before you get your haircut. Prices have apparently gone up because of covid which is fair but I feel like I should have been warned before my haircut. (It feels kind of off since their are no signs, hard to tell if I am being taken advantage of, please put a sign up) Especially since I sat through my haircut, got way more hair cut off than I wanted too. And I just sat their politely because in my head, it's a cheap haircut and the stylist was so sweet I didn't care. But now that I've spent $60 for something I didn't want I wish I spoke up. I wish I spoke up about the other persons hair in the washing station my hair was washed in or the other person's hair I saw on the brush used on me. But instead I sat their patiently because I thought I was getting a good deal and I could just wash my hair later. Also the stylist didn't even ask me what I wanted I had to stop them and tell them, and I am not sure they heard me considering how short my hair is?? I honestly hate writing a review like this because I hate putting down small businesses but after the mess I just went through I have to vent. Honestly a great staff, my haircut is super cute (just not something I want or can manage), and besides the loose hairs cleanliness isn't a huge issue at this place. I definitely still recommend the salon I just recommend better communication and for the customer to come in being prepared to set boundaries and establish what they want and the price they are willing to pay, so they don't leave as unhappy as me. read more

I was loyal customer for 5 years. Recently I have noticed their customers service has dropped immensely. I have done Balayage few times which was ok. The last time I did was not done properly which cost $480+tip so I went again to fix it. It took 30mins Max (just the color fix, NO hair wash or blow dry) Which I think they did NOT like it. So now they have a note/red flag on my account as per someone who assisted me - and every time I try to get an appointment they avoid me, put me on hold and when I went in person to get an appointment they tried to give it to me after 3 months which is totally bullish**. The person had no idea what to do and seemed disinterested throughout. No finesse, no layers just random hair cut. When I asked him don't you put hair-clips for tucking hairs, he was like what do you mean. Why did I even visit here. Had Jenny give me a hair cut and my hair is very curly but she did it perfectly, and then about two weeks later I went back to her to do my keratin treatment. And OMG. I did not think it would turn out this good! My hair is completely straight even after I shower it's light waves but always looking salon ready. I am North African Arabian descent and so I'm talking very thick curly hair that becomes poofy most time without product. I will warn that your hair tend to seem more oily after this treatment but I think buying some products to combat that has been easier than having to straight iron or style my hair daily. Time saver! When I got there they said there was an opening, which was great. I got in the chair, and they were about to start the haircut. Then a customer walks in. The hair stylist looked at the wrong day, and there wasn't an opening. So they had me leave the chair. This whole interaction felt unprofessional, so I ended up going somewhere else. read more

Thanks to Yelp and the awesome reviews I was able to get an appt with Sarah. Scheduled a free hair consultation and got an appt a few.weeks later. She knows everything hair! Show her your Pinterest inspiration and she will tell you the honest truth and why. Had my 2nd appt with her and she always makes me look fabulous. My coworkers ALWAYS compliment my hair. And they ask "how far do I have to drive to see her..I want her to do my hair too!" Wish I had taken a pic of before and after, but take a look at all her photos on Yelp, they are proof of awesome hair by an awesome stylist. It's hair dressers like these that give everyone else a bad name, making it hard for customers to trust. Maybe some of you will be able to relate. I don't ever use a flatiron on my hair for very good reasons. I specifically asked her to NOT use a flat iron and she insisted and I said No, we can leave my hair damp if your going to do that. So then she supposedly blow dried my hair. My chair was tilted to the side not facing the mirror so I trusted that she did what I requested. When I got out of the chair and looked in the mirror my hair looked pretty damn straight and I didn't notice that it was FLAT ironed until I got into my car and drove off. I know for a fact that my hair can't get as straight as an arrow, unless a flat iron was used. It looked like she used the the blow dryer and a flat iron. Why is it so flippin' hard for a hairdresser to do what you ask? I can't recommend a salon that goes against the customers wishes. Also this is a lesson for me that if my hairdresser can't speak clear english then I will not allow them to work on my hair. This experience will make me become a big pain in the ass to the next hairdresser I go to, because now I can't trust if what I ask for will actually be done. Do yourself a favor save yourself money, stress and angry feelings and don't come here. They do all this other useless crap like give you a 5 minute head massage and put oils in your face to de-stress you, but don't do what you request, which makes this salon a big fat zero. read more

Got an appointment pretty easily for 3 PM on a Tuesday. This is an Aveda salon, but they also have other products. Although I was not offered any complimentary beverages, I enjoyed the longer scalp and shoulder massage both before and during the shampoo. I have been to several other of aVeda salons in the past, including Sole salon in Emeryville Bay Street, Kinship salon in sf and artbeat salon in Berkeley. Of your salon I felt was just as good quality, but slightly more economical. My cut was $50 not including tip, often at the other salons I am paying $60-$75. I just wanted a trim, and I felt that my stylist here did that and also freshened up my look so that my hair did not look so dull. I'll definitely return when I'm in the area. I saw this salon when I was in the same complex for pick some food up from the restaurant nearby and I extremely skeptical to reached out to them mainly due to COVID-19 and also coz I only used to go to the Aveda salon in San Francisco. Now that I moved out of the city and also needed a haircut badly, I couldn't have been more happier with the experience at Allure. They were well prepared with all that was required to keep customers safe. Temperature checks as soon as you walk in and sanitized the chair and area around it after every customer. Coming to my stylist, Jenny was exceptional! I had shown her a picture of how I need my hair to be and she was over the top. Loved the haircut, loved her styling tips and suggestions. DO NOT GET Mimi for haircuts is AWFUL. Worst hair cut I've every had in my entire life. Your head like it's being processed in a factory. If I were the owner of this store I would FIRE Mimi immediately. 1) uncomfortable "massage" including a weird ear related pull. Just awful 2) nails kept scratching skin 3) rough use of trimmers and everything 4) hair wash was terrible, extremely rough and scratches behind my ears. Vigorous washing and wiping that was just painful. I have no idea why they keep her on. I politely sat through the hair cut and the result was nothing like I showed in the photo which I showed. I usually get my hair cut in Fremont, but I needed a place in Pleasanton or Dublin for an emergency trim on Saturday. I called and Loan was able to fit me in an hour later. The appointment started right on time, and I was impressed with the interior. The place is very clean and comfortable. I received a relaxing shoulder massage before my trim. I haven't dyed my hair since February 2020 (It's May 11, 2021 now). Loan last did my hair exactly as I asked. I wanted all sorts of things, but without knowing what was coming in 2020, I had asked for it not to have a sharp line where the color meets the roots so it will still look good in a month. Over a year later... My hair has grown 7 inches and I still don't have a sharp line. I know she's going to make it gorgeous again so I'm waiting for an appointment with her. She's so good I'll wait another two or three months. I hope not more, lol, but I wouldn't be surprised if she's all booked up. No problem, I'll wait.
