When I questioned it, the kid who was working the register said they round up their transactions, then give back cash to make up the difference. I was a little dumbfounded, even confused, as I'd never had any other business do that, so I asked him why. He gave me the classic non-answer that we all hate, "That's just the way we do things here." Sounds like bullshit to me.
